Loved the flashback, Haku and Zabuza were great characters.

Damn you, Kabuto, using the Edo Tensei to turn Zabuza and Haku into emotionless puppets.

Behold, all Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Hidden Mist have gathered.

The fuck was going on with Haku's lips, they weren't originally like that, right?

Didn't expect to see the seven ninja swordsmen in this episode but it was nice.
bit to much filler/flashbacks though.

It was nice to see Haku and Zabusa again, but hey, 2 min fighting 18 min talking doesn't impress me. The show is becoming nothing but talk and flashbacks. It's a god damn war, show us some good fights already.

Well, hated the flashbacks, but still, nice to see those 2, as well as some of their story again. Good old times.

Animations seems to suffer lately though, some parts are really well done, and some are horrendous.

Well, that sure was an QUALITY episode. Even the flashback scenes looked worse than the originals.

Other than that - an okay episode. Hopefuly they will put a bit more effort into the next one and lay low with the flashbacks while they're at it.

Well they have to transition between telling story and showing the action. If they don't have any background story to tell on any of the characters and the arc was just pure action, then it would be like watching the huco mundo arc in bleach is that what you seriously want??

Kishimoto kind of tells a story in a different way, instead of layering it out in pieces, he kind of tells that characters story, or background in full, then what follows is usually the action or the fighting. I can understand that turning into be some kind of cliche way of evolving things for some of these characters but i would rather have some character development, then sit through 80 episodes of non stop hollow and arancar fights. Then it just because a pile of lifeless characters who you don't even care bout, can't make a connection to and always wishing that the next fight would come to an end.

In this way at least things are kind of fresh in your mind and even though some of the flashbacks may of been shown before, it helps build character depth and gives substance and more meaning to what is happening currently in the war. I thought by now you would be used to this, cause its been like this from the very beginning.

Um no. We already have the background story and the first Arc of naruto
Repetition isn't going to add anything new

Do we want a pure action arc? No but thats how this arc is
And it's kishi's fault. If he wanted to make this arc have a story then ADD a story, dont just show us something we already know

Really awesome to see Zabuza and Haku again :D

Though I think the animation in the flashbacks was worse, Couldn't even recreate the scene probably. suddenly Zabuza was fine with no weapons in his back and laid down by Haku himself, when originally he had Kakashi carrying him there... <_<

Otherwise I thought it was good x)

I became curious and made a brief comparison of Haku from Naruto Ep 12 and Shippuden Ep 256. Also of note: Shippuden's Haku sounds way more "Totally a girl" than the first Haku, who was much more ambiguous.

click for bigger man-girl face.

Also, these events were originally aired 6.5 years ago, so I don't blame them for providing a little reminder of what happened...but this is too much reminder. I wish they included all this in that little recap mini arch instead.

This episode clearly show me how much the Naruto series evolved in time. When Naruto first started, it was merely about more plain Ninja world, there was only fighting styles, Ninja tools, etc. There wasn't any flashy moves, too much chakura, nor too much of any other supernatural content. Now the story is in a far different world. I don't like the way it is now.

I didn't like this episode.
(-1) Haku is now a total homo.
(-1) Too many flashbacks.
(-1) No progress in the story.

A top ranked anime shouldn't be like this. Most people are watching this show because it made a good start when it first started. If it was like this when is started, it wouldn't be this popular.

Disliked it, I'm now waiting for a show that is mostly flashbacks. If I want to know what's going on I'll just look back at the episode. I do find it great that Kabuto now has a way to 'disable' the feelings of the retrieved dead people, that makes it not so flawed and less easy for the 'good guys' to talk the bad out of the dead ones (so they vanish) every episode. Also.. they did find out really easy about the under-earth zetsu's? That kinda sucked, I was hoping for a 'surprise attack' against a few of the stronger ninja's.

Why is Haku wearing lipstick ............... That's not right..

And another thing, how did Zabuza get his sword back (still broken from when it got cut in half by the raikage)... That had me lost. Thought that Haku and Zabuza were going to disappear when Kakashi and Sakura were talking to them and they showed a 10 minute flashback but apparently that was just for fun in case we decided to watch Shippuden without seeing Naruto first. I guess he's strengthened the reanimation jutsu somehow using the new chakra he got.

This episode was alright, seemed to have a lot of unanswered plotholes though. It was crazy seeing all those ninja dying.

I think the artwork was really lacking. The flashbacks were nice-ish but they changed a lot from the original. I liked Naruto's speech though and Zabuza in tears, but Zabuza was supposed to be carried to Haku's side and Gato's men were supposed to stab their spears into him or something... And lastly why did they change Haku, he was fine the way he was

Reading the manga... I kind of regret it now since I know what is happening.
Thus this is very hard to enjoy now.

Though I hope they lengthen the fight with the 7 Swordsman of the Mist since those fights weren't shown in the manga... Damn flashbacks... but can't help it.

I hope they improve the animation for the fights.

Well I kind of get where people are coming from. We have to wait a week for the episodes to come out... so everyone really wants to see some action or something. I kind of liked the flashbacks, but at the same time I didn't. I didn't like them because they altered the original ones that aired [as i mentioned earlier] But I liked the crying scene with Zabuza, since it made him seem more human.

I'm a Naruto fan, but even though I didn't exactly like this episode, I sat through the entire thing. The episode was a bit painful to watch ... plus the art in this episode was really lacking.

Terrible animation and flashbacks again?!?! I'm afraid the whole war will become nothing but flashbacks.

I don't like the reanimation jutsu either. Normal fights are not an option since the reanimated can't be killed.

I would have preferred a bigger (and living) Akatsuki group and a the rest normal ninja's. So that that a new story could unfold.

The action was good in the beginning, but they showed to much flashback.
The fighting scenes weren't that great, but the seven swordsman entrance was pretty hot.
It wasn't that bad, but once again there was way too much recap.
