It seems rare to have a second season announced even before the first one is aired, more so in anime than anything else. I think I'll definitely check this out to see why their putting so much into it.

Fate/Zero
Horizon
Rinne no Lagrange

More like it's becoming a new trend.

But both Fate and Rinne were set from start as two cour series.
In case of Horizon it was based on sell results.

TWGOK second season announcement was leaked IIRC.
We've been getting a lot of split cour anime lately. I don't really mind, if I didn't like the first season I could just skip the second one. Won't have to sit through 24 episodes then.

Yes. It's a new trend.

Fate/Zero
Rinne no Lagrange
Kimi to Boku
Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon

and now this.

Nope. Horizon-2 was confirmed later but rumors about 2-cour started much earlier.

Splitting a season helps keep a high level of quality when it comes to production values. I can understand why studios are taking this approach a lot more now. But for the fans it can be a very painful expererience.

Cool. They should do it all the time like these. I hate when they animate the first few volumes of the manga, then just end the show and never continue.

This is interesting. Covering the whole run of the manga should make for much tighter storytelling, so I approve as far as that goes, but it's still very odd for the announcement to be this far in advance.

I still think the pages should be combined. Despite breaks, the series is still Jormungand. Not Jormungand 2. Same for Fate/Zero and Rinne no Lagrange.

Yeah so they decided to do a 2 cour thing with this. OK, ok the action is as good as Black Lagoon I heard so it's a good thing they make it into 24 episodes.

There is no way they'd pack all that manga material in 12 episodes anyways.
