Just that.

I'm expecting some answers to the unanswered things, just like who was the girl that Chihiro's father was waiting (that finally appeared) and such.

Quite a lot to be honest. Superb music again, beautiful animation and suspense comparable to the first season. I hope they can do it again, the first season got a 10 from me and is my #3 favorite anime at the moment.

Heads up, Himura Yu isn't Chihiro's father... he's just her guardian.

I'm hoping that they keep the two independent storylines format from the first series. It worked out really well. If they only had one storyline... it might seem drawn out... and we don't get breathers from the story.
The promo does give me some hope, cause besides Yu, Yuuko, Mizuki, and Kuze, there was also Hiro's sister Nagi, and (presumably) Yuuko's brother Akira... (it's kinda amusing cause then Hiro's pen name comes from his best friend's last name and his sister's first name: Nagi Shindou). Which would eman that Yuuko would help Nagi and Akira, while Yu would help Kuze and Mizuki.
However, the games didn't have a storyline w/ Nagi and Akira, so i dunno...

I hope the story will grab me as much as the first season and make me cry manly tears... ehem. we need the satisfying explanation for the relationship between Yu & Yuko. I wouldn't mind the another version of Eternal Feather too. it's a great song.

the return of overly exaggerated melodrama! xD

some good old drool-worthy background scenes that rival those of makoto shinkai and some awesome background music from tenmon!

cant forget the complementary hinted sex scene...

i'm assuming that ef-melo covers the other arc in the first tale and those of the latter tale right?

I'm just hoping they don't disappoint by making a second season just because ef was a hit. If they can keep up with what memories was then it'll all be good.

Moar epic.

I'm so hyped about this it's not even funny. I hope they continue the incredible work from the first season, and wonder if the older characters will make cameos. Still, very, very happy about this.

At least at the same level as the first season, let's hope even better. Looking forward to the new characters (right?). Drama on high-level, warning! ^^

Same as this.

The game op for the latter tale is totally awesome, i have watched it dozens of times. I'm sure shaft will be able to deliver again, and it will be as good (or nearly as good) as the first season.

Well, I don't think we'll get a sequel here, more in the league of a spin-off. At the very least it will be an independent story. Therefore I try not to make too many comparisons (all the more connections though) between memories. This will be hard, because memories pretty much surprised me a lot. I knew I could expect a lot after seeing the prologue, but the actual story was still beyond my expectations. I know I won't get the same feeling again by expecting something from melodies.

Mizuki's story involves Chihiro a bit.

Oonuma or someone said that we're to see more of Hiro and Miyako, but it probably won't really be a continuation of the story.

@freedoleen: The Kei-Kyousuke story wasn't really covered at all.

The new character in the trailer is Nagi Hirono, Hiro's sister.

We think alike. I'm pretty sure the season two will be either bad or okay (as score 6-8) but nothing even close to the first season (scored full 10 from me). I really hope they actually have a real story and good animation etc. and don't make this just 'cause the first season was a hit.

PS. As reference how things go bad easily here are my Geass 1st and 2nd season scores:
First season score 9½
Second season score 6½

The best damn anime ever, that's what. And, as people alredy have written, more info on Yu and Yuko. Because of melodies, I also expect a soundtrack at least on par with the first season's, though that would be anything but easy.

I have a feeling that the second season is going to be better than the first. I loved the Hirono/Kei/Miya Arc. The Renji/Chihiro arc was a bit too whiny for me.

I am really looking forward to the Yuko/Yu arc, which i have a feeling is going to be my favourite characters. This is assuming the standard is what i expect, and i have a pretty standard too!

This is kinda weird for me considering seasons after the first one is always shit, but i just have a feeling this is going to be the exception.

Rule of Thumb (Unfortunately) : Sequels are never better than the original. But hell, we can hope it's just as good, right? As far as I'm concerned, memories = best anime I ever fucking watched, absolutely perfect, and if melodies is anything like it, then hell yes, I can't wait.

Ef ~ A tale of memories was all about the Renji/Chihiro arc who was the best !
Seriously something better than memories can't exist, tough I would want to but it is impossible to be beyond perfect :3.

Exactly what I'm looking forward to. The animation and storylines were wonderfully amazing and the way everything flowed was beautiful. I hope they talk a little more about the character's though. I'm really excited for this one~ ^_^

HAHAHA, OH WOW.
From a quick lookthrough of your to-watch list alone, I can already see Ghost in the Shell SAC as evidence to the contrary with Aria, Full Metal Panic, and Marimite each breaking that twice.

Yuuko's story this season will make or break the series... hopefully people coming into this will know what to expect.

When I started watching the 1st episode of Memories, I thought "Oh, I see, it's a blend of Shinkai with Kimi ga nozomu eien with elements of Haruhi. There's nothing more to expect...".
And I was so damn wrong to say that! Therefore, what do I expect?

Tenchio said:

Precisely this! XD (+1 from me too)

And there's another thing which left me a bit unsatisfied with Memories. Since, the anime is VERY realistic, I'd expect a fair sad ending to it. I was wrong again.

So, I know, that there will be tons of flames now flying towards me, but still I'll say it. I expect a SAD ENDING !

All I want from this IS TO FEED ME EMOTIONS. The more the better I want something FAR MORE EMOTIONAL than the Renji/Chihiro arc. REMEMBER this is the same town and this town had earthquakes and wars. A very depressing place for its content of the past.
Oops! I appear to be incapable of following Rules 16 and 17, so I had to have a mod change my sig for me.

I'm actually not satisfied thus far with the second season of this series. I really enjoyed the first season, but I think this season is way too ambitious and its falling short, or going too far. Either way, I enjoyed the first season much more than I have the second season so far.
