| I'm on 77, and I have to say the show DOES get a whole lot better later on. Just give it about 25 eps, if it doesnt grow on you by then, its probably not your type. I'd also recommend the 2005 Jumpfest OVA which is sort of a pilot ep for the series and is much better than the first couple of eps. |

| Who says the first episodes are bad? Their complete insanity and random self awareness is what made me and a lot of people fall in love with the show! In Media Res is a great way to start an epic comedy series like this. If you want a less "random" introduction to the show i recommend you check out the "Jump Festival Tour Special" from 2005 - It's more or less a pilot for the show. Then again this is not a series for everyone (no anime is) so do as you please. |

| Re-watching, I originally first saw this with CR first released them a long time ago. As much as it both loved and hated now, for it's first few months this was hugely under the radar. I don't even remember when it started to get all the attention. But for people that say first 2 eps suck, well then youre making too much sense of this show and are already watching this with a too critical sense. |

| Not as good as I expected. Didn't laugh at all actually. I mean, I do get the jokes and the comedy but it's not the type that makes me go "LMAO!". Instead, I almost fell asleep. Does it get better? Hopefully. I have the first DVD (aka first 13 eps) I found at my local library and I'll try to finish them tomorrow. So far. 2.5/5 for the first episode. |
| Kinda of a meh episode but it showed potential on its jokes. Some of it were pretty funny. Can't wait for this to get good as people said. |

| Started rewatching it, and yeah, the first episodes are weak in comparison with the others. For me the true potential of the series started showing only from 25th episode, so glad i kept watching. Feel sorry for the people who dropped it soon though, they are missing SO MUCH, but it's their choice. |

| With the new season airing next season decided to finally start this. Heard the first 20 or so episodes are a bad start so won't expect too much from them. As for this episode it wasn't as bad as I was expecting,considering I heard the first and second episode of this are considered the worst of the entire series. |

| I picked this up because of the insanely high score it has here. Normally I'm extremely sceptical of MAL scores but it bears investigating. So far I'm no too impressed, but everyone and their uncle keeps saying that it get's better with time so I reckon I'll give 15 episodes or so. |

| Was delaying this show because it was so popular (well, overhyped) but it's time to seen if those rumours are true. At least it's not your ordinary shounen. Wonder if I can get into it. It was ok but nothing special so far. Many famous seiyuu out there though, Sugita and Kugimiya are good as always and made this at least bearable. Really not a good start but it could be worse I guess. |

| The first and second episode are completely pointless as they show a situation which is chronologically later in the "timeline". It would make sense they creators would make their episode what Gintama can be, but that's not what happened. The first two episodes barely hold a candle to the rest of the anime. 1/5 |

| Might as well give this a shot. It's 5 of the 10 highest rated anime here, clearly it's the greatest anime ever made. Not an awful beginning. Introduced the characters mildly competently. Couple of the jokes made me cringe. Let's hope the second part of this two parter is better. Series Laughs: 0. Great start to a comedy anime. |
