| A bunch of cardboard cutout baddies to beat up. So they held back when they were being attacked by the Guild, but now they went all out. Yay? The only two things worthwhile in this episode were Lavie just being her usual self and that the next episode was set up when Alex and the casino owner exchanged some intel. And I guess maybe the bluecoat deserter might become an interesting character at some point, maybe? |

| I get the criticism of chivalry being used as a catalyst of war, but do you really have to make every single noble a piece of trash who breaks code just to win? 1D evil gang of noble men were a bit much. There's much better ways to do this, especially from a show preaching moral ambiguity. The more this continues the more I feel bad about insulting the mechanics on the level I did. Yes they're barbarians, but I had assumed we were supposed to see them as likable normal dudes after that, nope they're still barbarians who want to beat everyone up, they can just keep it quiet when directly ordered to. Very little Claus and Al in this episode. |
| So this is going to be one of those shows where everyone else is such huge douches that the show expects you to like the douches on the Silvana just because they are 'less-bad.' Claus and Lavie and Al were doing fine on their own, not sure if they really needed to join the ship of edge and angst. Is reminding me more and more of Xamdou which was utter shit. muh chivalry |

Relax this episode isn't trying to be deep at all, I assume once they get back into battles with the Guild then it won't have to show 1D villains anymore. |
| The crew get some time off whilst the Silvana gets repaired and restocked, so a trip to a floating casino is in order. There Lavie meets Mullin again, and a brawl leads to a one-on-one ship battle. A fun day out on the casino floor for Lavie. She looked as if she was enjoying herself, despite feeling down about the red-out. Mullin kinda cheered her up, and Sleepyhead almost won the race. Go, Sleepyhead!!! Poor Mullin. I feel bad for the guy. All those badges he got for surviving on the Mad-thanes ship, and he was treated worse than trash because of one tactical retreat. In a sense, he did get some revenge, with the Silvana blowing the Goliath out of the sky. So does that mean he's a member now... The setting and the concept for the ep was there, but I think Gonzo just can't keep the character designs consistent enough, which hurts the anime slightly. Art that is nice in one area, but shit in another, is never a good sign. Most of the time, it's the character faces. It was more noticeable in this ep due to the crowds of people. |

| Was this medal at the end from Lavie's father or something? It's definitely not Mullin's. I wonder if that ship made it back or just sank lol A bunch of cardboard cutout baddies to beat up. So they held back when they were being attacked by the Guild, but now they went all out. Yay? Either they installed new weapons in the dock, or there's more to the Guild than we know yet. It was pretty clear the Guild wasn't going all out during their attack. Well, their target was on the ship, maybe that's why. |
| Pretty odd how the first episode of the series emphasized the carnage of battle as horrible but this one kills off an entire shipload of men as just desserts for being boorish. |

| lol chocobo racing. that battle was awesome. i'm sure you guys don't know but there was a game on the nintendo gamecube called skies of arcadia and i keep thinking about it when i watch these aerial battles. i wish they'd port it to the dang switch already. anyways poor guy; you NEVER EVER EVER EVER touch a man's medals or speak of them in a diminutive fashion. i don't give a damn who you are. these idiots want to talk about chivalry but then rip off and step on a dudes medals? oh hell no. that's a court martial right there. |
