THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
I always felt the action scenes of Toshokan Sensou were unnatural but this episode was different.
It's a good alternation of the story that the chief librarian attacked Doujyou not the captain of Ibaraki Library Forces. The climax became more exciting. (In the novel, the story moves on to the next volume after the battle in Ibaraki.) Also the insertion of the conversation between Komaki and the Media Improvement Foces officer changed the impression of the fierce assault. In the novel, the description was one-sided. It's good that they described how the opponents think about the exhibition.
The only thing I concerned was the awful voice actress they used for the governor. She is a singer, amateur of CV。

That was an ok episode, I was hoping for something better than that this late in the series. I can almost guarantee that Doujou won't be dead.

Loved the episode! One question though, why was the Media Improvement Forces so pissed off at the art work? I didn't really understand the full conversation between the two guys walking.

The uniform was a symbol, which they rely on and have a pride in. The monument of the torn up uniform was the worst insult for them even if most of the officers didn't devote themselves into their job.

So the uniform was the same that the Media Improvement Forces use? haha I didn't even notice. Makes sense now since it's labeled freedom and its all ripped up XD. I had always thought the Media Improvement Forces just wore black bullet proof clothing never noticed they had a real uniform.

awesome, beautiful... Epic... Loved this episode, action scenes were more than natural, Kasahara's feelings wouldnt have been described better than that, and for the next which will be the last episode, i wish for a truly good ending...

This show keeps getting better. It makes me happy unlike the other show I was looking foward to this season, Macross F, which turn out to be forever stalled out High School love triangle show.

Ah, they left us hanging! >< But I liked this episode. The fighting was a little more realistic, the discussion between Komaki and the other guy revealed a lot about the two factions (principle/conviction vs. just a job), and that ending was so shocking! Oh, and that bit with the media grilling the librarians because they're siding with the Media Improvement forces, that was interesting. It's ironic that media would side with the forces stifling them; it's a matter of survival, I suppose. Also, thanks, dtshyk, I didn't know why the artwork was so offensive until you explained it. Must watch next ep! xD

I hope Genda doesn't die. I thought it was a bit overdone after Kasahara

Anyway, I liked the fast pace of the episode.

Great pacing for this episode, and we had the best action scene of the series too. Good development and a nice cliffhanger on top of that so it was a perfect episode to prepare the final one I think ;)

Seriously though, if Genda died then that will be the most needless death of all time. I hate it when characters just die to die.

If I remember correctly, the non-combat uniform was shown only in episode 1 and 2. No wonder you don't remember it.

And I wanna add one more thing. In the novel, the "Principle of Nonresistant" group protested to Genda against the bloodshed after the battle. The Governor of Ibaraki snapped at them "Task Forces risked their lives to protect the monument. What did YOU do,then?" Next moment, a group of extremist (not Improvement Forces officer) with SMG approached the monument. The protestors ran away in panic. Those pacifist was doing nothing but beneficial to the censorship. The author ironically pointed out the deception of the "Principle of Nonresistant" group in real Japan. (see my review on "Toshokan Kiki" for detail)

0_0 Genga got killed? Pretty sure Dojo will be fine and miraculously live somehow, however not sure about Genga.

Also, it occurred to me, they mentioned using weakened bullets to avoid killing . . . Why don't they just use riot weapons instead of live ammunition in the first place? I mean stun grenades, grenades, hoses, etc. actually make for a much more powerful defense if you are intentionally trying to avoid killing them by just shooting at there bullet proof vests. At that point it feels more like they are playing a more painful game of paintball.

Genda is too awesome to die! I don't believe.

Dojo almost deserved getting shot for not attacking the lady when her back was turned. Gasoline containers is never a good sign.

Tension built gradually and slowly towards the end - letting off steam in the final part for resolution next episode. All in the name of pride those scumbag puppets of the government lost their sense of mind, even to the point of murdering someone if need be. That just goes to show how stupid war is.

That part with Dojo at the end was stupid. Why didn't he alert anybody, or run after her? Oh well. Got to have that final episode drama.

Intense as hell episode with Genda being shot and Dojo being shot too while trapped in a gasoline fire. The action itself was really exciting to watch and a little more realistic than the other episodes too. Kasahara even was losing it in the middle there before Dojo kept her composure somewhat in the middle of the episode, but given that he's in big trouble currently, something tells me that she's going to pop off badly for the finale of this arc.

The war about Pride, it's nice to see something more realistic in this anime. And speaking of realistic, the action in this episode was so good and really exciting. Surely better than the other eps.

Nooo Genda! I hope he survives from those bullets. Don't worry about Doujou, he'll definitely survive somehow
