Nice episode, Romeo showed a bit of backbone. It was more focused on him for once instead of Juliet which is a nice turn. I liked the development in this episode. Can't wait for the next~

I agree, I really liked how this episode focused more on Romeo. But he's still got a long way to go before he'll be ready and able to start defying his father and actually getting somewhere with it ... so I'm looking forward to how he changes in the future.

Good episode, but I'm a little "eh" at the emoness to Romeo. Honestly, how clueless can someone be? He came in expecting everyone to be well fed and treated wonderfully? retarded kid if you ask me.

Anyway, looking forward to see where they take this.

Why is that so hard to understand? That boy was brought up in a rich house, not knowing what's going on in the town. How is he supposed to know about the workes there. It's not like everyone has a common sense about this like nowadays.

It's hard to understand because it's a typical "movie" or what-have-you. Rich kids are not that retarded about the affairs of commoners. Romeo definitely has no excuse because his mother doesn't live in the castle. Obviously she's not treated like a queen, so he should have at least SOME experience with commoners.

It just bothers me that this show uses typical cliche crap. The whole episode between Romeo and the "same-age kid that just happens to die right when Romeo gets there" was stupid imo.

I can't believe the doctor didn't come on time like they usually come on time in other anime! Also, the dying guy didn't manage to make a 10 minute speech to Romeo before he died, what's up with that? Are they trying to break the anime cliche of sympathetic character giving a long speech before croaking?

Not sure where this is heading but it's an interesting development for sure.

It always pains me to listen to the characters say their full names or of other people. It sounds like it's a struggle, like trying to bike uphill. However, that bastard, Montague, probably had the smoothest pronunciation of all when pushing Romeo to the floor. I doubt anyone will do better than that for the remainder of the series.

I was hoping that Romeo would say he would kill the Duke after being told what Petruchio's crime was. In fact, they say that there were no felons working the mines. I didn't really like the episode and I think I was fed up at the end when Romeo cried and hollered. I don't like the crying and hollering crap. It's ok to cry and curse, but to hear that scream... I'd rather hear someone scratch a chalkboard.

I still want to know more about those trees.

I liked this episode. I think they've finally finished stripping Juliet of her innocence and now they are working on Romeo. With any luck another tragedy or two will turn him into a character capable of fighting against his father.

PS, given how this story is going I can't really see how this show can end up being a successful tragedy. I just can't see how a tragic ending would have any meaning at this point. I'm worried about how Gonzo is going to end this. I fear the worst.

Hm. Yeah. I suppose I liked this episode. I was expecting something more of Romeo, somehow, though he did show some backbone... It was nice to have some focus placed on him for once, rather than Juliet. I wonder where he's going with the mines? I mean, double output? There's no way... (Although there probably is, just 'cause it's an anime and the impossible is always possible.)

More references to other Shakespeare works again; Petruchio from "The Taming of the Shrew". Is Giovanni one? I haven't read them all.

That's the point.

Aw sheesh. That was a good sad episode there.
I liked it, felt bad for Romeo having to go through all that.
Seems like the doctor never came..or it was too late....
Poor Petruchio, he was brought to this nasty place because he stole 1 piece of bread to feed his siblings? Talk about justice -_-

Again Tybalt needs screen-time...

Who cares about Tybalt when you have such a good episode? I mean, I like the guy, I really do but this was the best episode in this anime so far. At least I like Romeo a lot better than Juliet and I like how they changed the focus. It's nice to see he's learning some stuff and getting a stronger personality.

This was a good episode. I’m sure Romeo understood that people suffered, but he didn’t know what he was getting himself into when he took over the mines. He was expecting the mines to be a business that needed an improvement, not a prison. The suggestions he made makes sense if improving productivity was the goal but it never was. Surely there are things he can do to help the miners as the Thane, but that probably would have taken time the writers would rather spend elsewhere.

The episode was ok I mean the story was way better than the last episodes but seriously if you're going to kill the good guy just give him some time screen in order for people to really care.

That was a really good episode. Romeo's VA really brought out emotion.

Also, Shakespeare plays were known for not being original and pretty cliché so you really have to turn a blind eye to that kinda stuff. Although the adaptation of Romeo and Juliet is pretty poor, I'm really liking the anime itself

I clearly wasn't paying attention because I didn't get why he went to work in the mines or I missed something, I was was losing interest this episode and on my phone the whole time because it seemed a bit dull.

I liked that it focused on Romeo but only had it been more exciting I would've liked it more.

Everyone still believes in Juliet, no idea why.
Romeo is sent to the mines, i hope he stays there.
Petruchio dies.
