| i guess ive been watching too many depressing animes recently. saikano delivers its sadness by depictions of losing loved ones. definitely one of the best episode of the series, but saikano is rather too mellow compared to some of the newer animes. |

| Chise is going to destroy their hometown. Too many people are dying in this anime. I don't remember half of their names before they're killed off. |

| This episode is pure tragic, although the drama is bearly there due to RediceRyan said: I didn't cry though. Wasn't attached enough to Akemi. yes, the problem which plagues this anime: poor character development. One can only help but feel terribly miserable for everything, but cannot actually feel for the characters. War is already bad enough, and they had to top it off with an earthquake...why can't they just let her live? She wanted to live, right? Life is seriously cheap, not even the most realistic of war anime can portray this so heavily. Tetsu's death I believe was the most tragic one. He just wanted to spend his last in the room he built out of memories, only to see it invaded by the enemies... 5/5 was powerful. I don't know why some people review it saying the OST was bad...the soprano solo defined the moments. |

| Very sad episode. I do feel really sad what happened to Akemi her voice actor did a great job on that :) Life can suck sometimes like in the end of the episode :( |

| Well ... this sure was a depressing episode. I actually felt sad for Akemi and Tetsu. And I kind of have to agree on poor char. development, not just that but any development regarding the war aswell, it's weird just seeing enemy soldiers in a hotel room like that. Anyway, seems Chise got back on her feet. |

| One of the most realistic death scenes ever. This anime is highly underrated by many people, because they watching it too superficiality, sorry I can't say it properly in English, this anime has 2nd meaning. It isn't really important with who they are fighting, this (and many other things) is irrelevant. |

| Whenever someone says the childhood friend always wins, I'll will direct them to this anime. One of the most striking and depressing death scenes I've seen. The fact that Akemi held back her own desires for her friendship with Chise and the way she was talking about her plans with so much hope, despite knowing that she's going to die any moment. So horrible and the whole scene captured the bittersweet contrast really well. Some tears were flowing... |
