| Shinn, stop being an ass. Can't believe he was trying to lecture Athrun. I think I've said this before, but Athrun has been through much more than Shinn ever will, so he doesn't understand what is going on through Athrun's mind. The only compassion he seems to have for is Stella and people he considers his comrades. It's been more than half the show and he's gotten very little character development. |

Only the people he cares about deserve his sympathy, the rest might as well go die in a fire. The Auel kid he mercilessly killed was a victim of the war just like Stellar, but I sure as fuck didn't see Shinn cry let alone care about his death, yet he fucking knew who he was. I see what the creators were going for with his character but they fucked up big time by making the MC an unbereable ball of one dimensional angst who's unwilling and unable to grow; you can't help but root against him or wish he weren't there. People shit on Kamille or Eren 24/7 but at least these two show some fucking ability to learn from their mistkes and develop. And you know what the worst thing is? It's probably gonna get worse. |

| Wow, Shinn is an asshole. He's gone through multiple life and death experiences with Athrun, covering each other's backs, fighting to save their crewmates onboard the Minerva... and Shinn just shittalks Athrun. When you listen to military vets, they all say the same thing: they treat their comrades and brothers, and shittalking each other like that would be unthinkable. Shinn was also incredibly stupid returning Stella to the Earth Union. This isn't comparable to Kira returning Lacus - a civilian - to ZAFT, who had good rep and hadn't done anything bad. Shinn was returning a soldier to a pretty evil faction that was almost certainly going to keep abusing her and send her out into battle to kill more of Shinn's buddies until Stella was killed. Shinn had no way of knowing ahead of time that there was a person like Mu who might take care of her. We'll see. I doubt it.
