Mario told him he would back him up and be there for him whenever Joe needed, and now Joe finds himself in a tough situation and he knows he has friends he can count on, what's so surprising about that? Anyway great episode, I'm liking more and more Joe's story, can't wait for the next epiode. |

| Wow at this episode...I really loved it, but it hurt to watch it at the same time. I just wanna see Joe be successful already, and for him to connect with his sister. ;.; And I actually liked his manager; way to go in trying to protect Joe from the other dudes. But I can't just forget the whole 'sleeping together with a creepy smile' part. |

| as awesome this series is... it suffer the same fate like prison break... after prison, it just goes downhill...i still enjoy the story alot.... but the prison and conclusion to sakuragi somehow make me feel that's the end of the story |

| It was OK, but this series has too much drama. Also, this is getting longer than it should be, it was like the end to me when Sakuragi died, I might just drop it if it goes over 25 episodes. |

Were at what, volume 8 maybe 9 now ? there's 22 volumes; we're not even half way to the end of the series. It SHOULD be upwards of 35 eps. I just dont think Anchan should have died as early and how he did, that actually almost made me quit the anime. The brotherhood is still there, but the complexity of it isn't the same as when they were in prison(At least rihgt now, maybe this will change ?) if that doesen't change I honestly think this anime drops a lot of places on my list |

| Yeah the fact that they can't live a simple life can't really bring this down though. I mean when you deal with those types of people Joe was bound to get in this situation. Plus this is an Anime. So who here said, "that manager is actually kick ass awesome" when she scared those guys away. I cracked up at that. She was just a pervert earlier but now she is a stronger character seeing her background and stuff. Not a 'good' but a well made character. So is Joe going to go 1v1 with that guy and get the snot beat out of him till Mario comes? I just hope Mario won't act like a new anchan here. EDIT: I am liking this second cycle a lot better than the first. The prison environment was just to boring for me, and i never liked Anchan. That arc was just too long for me personally |

That everything is the same after 18 episodes with little feeling of progression despite the fact that we've covered somewhere between two and three years of these characters lives? And not just any two or three years, some of the most pivotal years where people mold and solidify their identity as they become adults. |
| as you could see the characters actually 'matured'.. besides this Joe guy.. which in this episode when he said to that Suppon guy to forgive about him ( this was still a childish acting) thats why all the episode was about Joe's character development.. thats why he has his own arc now.. the others like Mario are adults.. being by Joe's side right now..helping him.. thats why the atmosphere is still the same.. i wonder whats the next episodes will be about though.. since the manga is big ( 44 volumes? we are 22 ) |

At the end of the day, I haven't really bought a single instance of what would be called "character development" in the show, since it all pertains to Sakuragi who went nowhere, and Mario who was totally unclear as a character so that he could become Sakuragi 2.0. Turtle, Cabbage, Baremoto, et. all are still very much the same people. |

I disagree, mario letting setsuko go was a big step, I think. and really, I think they're doing a round-about technique with each characters story now, starting with a mario arc, and now a joe arc. Maybe after each one of those it will show you how they matured/developed. |
| Maybe, but since Sakuragi, Ishihara, and the doctor didn't get well-developed during the first half, I have little reason to believe that they'll be able to do anything with the remaining cast with less time. The best I could hope for is that each character goes through another tragedy and they come out of it somewhat different. But that's not really what's happening. Instead we're getting simple events like "I wanna be a star" get blown up into gang fights. Since this isn't West Side Story, it's hard to swallow, even if the tone has been consistently Drama Queen Schmaltzy. |
