As far as I know, having a bot/script that randomly or consequentially adding anime is not illegitimate, because spacecowboy is still not banned despite the well-know fact of having such bot/script. ^_^ |

Well, the thing is most accounts that im reporting are recent or created not too long ago. There can be more to fake accounts than just down or up votes (even accounts that only give 1s or 10 can be real). What determinates a fake account is the rushing of making them resulting on imperfect accounts with flaws. People can also make alternate accounts that are not made to up or down vote, using them as a 2nd account. Containing only popular anime, watched only a few anime, not logged in for a long time, having sequels but no prequel, planning to watch a sequel without having watched the prequel, having confusing favorites (only 1 favorite anime, or 1 favorite character or manga). Another thing that can induce a rushing making of a list is most watching anime having no episode count, myanimelist system doesnt put the amont of episodes it just puts an -, many people who make fake accounts just puts the anime and the score thinking that the score will count even if it is on Plan to Watch and not knowing the 1/5 rule. Again im just reporting account that look like trolls or the profiles dont make sense for main accounts but they are probably alts based of their profiles and lists. Is up to the mods to decide if they delete them or not. Im sure that their are many alt accounts in MAL but because they are so well made they will probably exist forever. |
| @OrehYnihs, well, since you're still, despite opening post statement, determined to report not so obvious illegitimate but somewhat suspicious accounts, it will be really nice if you provide some reasons (like in that one post you just made) why you think that this accs are illegitimate. It will surely shorten mods work if they knew where to look. There is no such thing as "confusing favorites", everyone is different, so there are no reasons why someone can't have 1, 2 or whatever they like number of favorites. Not everyone feels obliged to fill whole full slate. It's not that uncommon to having something (including single entities like movies, specials and 0VAs) as "Watching" with zero episodes count instead of "Plan to Watch". If you'll look at MAL drop-down menu in "Add new anime/manga" form, you'll find that it's the 1st and default status. So there are many people that just forgot or too lazy to change status when they adding new anime/manga to their lists. I know, I have one as a friend. |
