shion is still trying hard to create magic nice
there may be more to this than the classic reincarnation plot as a kid in another world with powers
the fight with the dad was so intense I spilled poutine all over my trousers wtf

With the ways things are going, this is 100% going that Yosuga no Sora route lol.

I mean, love gets his magic power up or whatever? Yeah, one could only imagine what something like a kiss could do.

Shion is working really hard to generate magic. I was surprised to see that love and affection seem to get his magic to appear.

That 'turning 30' scene went for way too long, though I found it pretty funny how he died of a heart attack after yelling in his apartment. Surely one of his neighbours cursed him.

The MC is losing his mind after 40 years of life (past + reincarnation) with his 100% protected virginity lol. If there’s no incest, it’s possible he’ll die a virgin again.

Looking through the lens of second-person becomes first-person view, that means this anime revert back to being just a normal isekai story. Such a waste of potential the first episode offer...

Brother, just think for one second if the MC got fire magic to work, especially while he was at home?
He would had alot of explaining to do to his parents about why there is a hole in the ceiling.

He believed in magic after 30, and faced reality, i.e. health problems, very sad reality, on the other hand trusting magic to a man who is too lazy to leave the house to conduct his own damn dangerous experiments is not a good idea either and Maria will soon be so yandere, judging by the second series.

This guy throws in the towel a tad too quickly. Only tried one or two things... If he refers to games himself he could at least come up with ideas of enhancement or enchantments etc.

Expecting him to sneakily grab a slave fairy and have it teach him magic.

I'm kinda bored - I know it's an exploration, but even with the fast timeline, the pacing is slow.

I'm stunned anyone would actually believe that nonsense. Or worse, actively try to live it. But this fool did in our real World, only to die of a Heart Attack. 30 wasted years my guy. I'm getting nervous about the direction this thing is going too. Seen to many Hentai with this theme. Praying they don't take that road.

Started off a bit awkward again. And the whole refractory period part didnt help. But seems they laid the groundwork for him not needing to "court" his sister to generate magic. Lets hope it stays that way.

At first I wasn’t sure I was watching the right show 😹. Weird place for a flashback. The remainder was too much technical stuff for me. Decent episode that was needed for context but not as enjoyable as E1. I’m sure the rest will be fine showing his growth 👍

Poor guy, ended up dying of a heart attack; haven’t seen that Isekai mechanism since Ars.

Given the over-abundance of Isekai that rely on going to a magic fantasy world, the premise of a world where magic isn’t common actually does offer a lot of potential to be interesting.

It hasn’t wowed me yet but I’m willing to give it a fair chance. It’s a slow start but the pieces are there, now we just need to see if the potential comes out

Not as strong as the first episode.
MC went from an interesting mystery to an ehh guy who thought he'd actually become a wizard through virginity and who Rudy-faces over magic.

EP 2

Last time not much happened aaand

A cliffhang
Thats literally the whole ep
The problem is the anime is too slow
Should have combined ep 1 and 2 together

Honestly ep 1 and 2 have been so disappointing its hard to justify continuing
Like you could probably fit the important events of ep 1 and 2 together and still have time left over

Bro needs to be calm but I like the way he is quite persistent.
7:19, why was she angry cause it wasn't serious? Girl, you are really giving off some incest lovin' vibes here cause wtf.
Chill tf out.
I like the concept of magic being based off of human emotions and whatnot but it's possible there may be more to it.
I just hope we don't go down the Yosuga no Sora route please cause I don't wanna drop this.

Edit: And he was a 30 y/o virgin loser in his past life? Bro seriously believed 30 year old virgin men could become wizards? Dude, there's a line between reality and fiction and you're blurring it seriously, wtaf. Smh.

Man.... this show isn't even bad, it's just downright weird... it's like little kids and magic only exists through the power of incestuous love, or.... something.

I don't even want to understand it well alone explain it.

Reality hit him so hard that he had an heart attack.

This reminds me a lot of Mushoku Tensie. Shion is literally young Rudy the way he obsessed over magic. The faces he makes also similar but unlike Rudy he isn't imagining weird stuff. Also 30 year old virgins got reincarnated although this dude isn't a loser just idiot.
Marie is quite similar to Eris. Same but even closer incestous love too.
It's a tad slow and will take time to get going. Magic through Incest, let haters be haters this has good potential.

I'm kinda disappointed that they've switched over to the guy as the MC...I was actually interested by the sister being the MC with an obviously isekai'd little brother and thought that might make an entertaining twist to the formula...but no, it was just a cheap fake-out for the first ep...

A combination of sweet, sweet loving story and otaku isekai. Not exactly what I would hope – I have much more interest in the former than the latter – but still pretty good. Looking forward to episode 3. Hope they will have more interactions between the siblings.

it is a pretty interesting concept. experiencing an actual physical event due to mental effort. basically, taking the equation [thought + mechanical effort = external result] and removing the mechanical effort from the equation and getting [thought = external result].

the thing is, just like every closed system... you can NOT entirely remove any element without replacing it partially or completely with some new element. i think he needs to move on to teaching this idea to others capable of perceiving his magically charged state. if he can observe and learn more about how humans perceive, use, internalize, externalize, and communicate about magically charged states he'll understand the movements and operations of mana/magic whatever it is.

then of course as he saw this week
he'll learn even faster and be able to comprehend the energy/system/operations more completely. kinda like having a tutor INSTEAD of just experimenting solo with ZERO external input/knowledge/experience.
just an ol school American otaku enjoyin the life. don't sass me kiddies, i've been otaku probably since before you were born. leave me in peace and i won't bother you either.

Impressive.

Two shit episodes with some of the most generic magic and world I've seen in a while.

Let's get the obvious out of the way:

1) The MC has the lamest and most pathetic backstory. Even then, you'd think they would make it funny. Some of the better Isekai have made the character deaths in previous life funny, but this one? A brutal heart-attack takes the life of a lonely virgin guy. Wow, the writer must really hate his life.

2) Magic "system" is the dumbest and most boring one ever. Using the power of "feelings" to channel a shitty glow acquired from fucking fishes. You serious?
Some anime have magic acquired from gods, this has magic acquired from fish.

The fact that they padded the episode with the most boring "training" MC was doing, then ending it with a boring trip to a generic town #345, where even the fairy selling shop looked so mundane that it blended in with the rest of the shitty art, is really impressive.

So at this point, I have no idea who this anime is catering to. Is it the perverts who haunt the anime forums, drooling over kiddy art? Is it the Isekai fans who like the most boring Isekai in existence? Is it the people who think bullshit magic systems in JRPG's and anime actually are interesting and not just shite written down describing same shit you do in every other fantasy setting, but pointlessly convoluted?

I guess I'll have to watch next 1-3 episodes to decide what to rate this anime. I hate leaving even the worst ones unwatched, so I might power through this (maybe).

This MC of ours says something and his big sister gets... it's rather adorable IF she's thinking correctly... lmao

Anyway, another enjoyable episode.

I'm looking forward for MC's achievements going forward.

P.S. Gotta dislike MC's weird faces for researching magic.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

I can't understand why shows like this are so popular. This is a chore to watch.
It's pedantic.
MC sits around wondering where magic comes from, the anime walks through every bleeding detail of him trying to make magic come out of his hand. Then he wonders aloud why he can't make more, then wonders how to control it, then wonders why he can't make more than the fish, why this and why that, all while standing in his bedroom trying spell after spell repetitively... it's dry, boring, uninspiring.
What is it with these shows where boring-ass dudes get migrated to medieval worlds where they are just as boring as in their previous life, and they obsessively pursue these very solitary, otaku-ish hobbies like nut collectors collecting nuts. It's not interesting to watch, and the people who like this stuff must actually be even more boring and pedantic than the OCD mc's of these anime. I remember when isekai meant going to fantasy worlds and fighting wars and saving nations. Now it's this. It has the ambition of a bored loner who has no friends.

@Mari_Marx Would that be a problem? His sister is going to be a teenager eventually and then it goes from brother to wingman. I wonder if he hits 30 again in mint condition will he become a double wizard?

Chapter 3 skipped content, for me this was very very extreme Important part.

@ImpyBlade regarding spoiler 3.

Shion trying to be like the Etten trout to emit magic, it does look kind of chuuni, just like his 30-year-old self before the irony of his heart attack that led to reincarnation.

But at the moment, the magic being able to be activated through love or affection, it does look like the siblings are truly going that forbidden incest route, but it's hard to say at this point, though this is what Shion can only confirm as of now.

At the moment, Shion and Marie can only perform as per what their parents have taught them, and their father Gawain preps Marie with actual weaponry from his good friend Grast's weapons shop for her birthday.

Except that one thing caught Shion's eye: a possible fairy slavery shop...

haven't check back on this since episode 1, lol

checked here before I continue with episode 2, sees the discussion

so... instead of pure incest, they're going with the excuse that "MC is adopted"

And there's more fantasy slavery (possibly) again... sigh... every single fantasy series gotta have slavery in it right? it's a must right?

In a world without magic, fairies are the closes thing there is to it. I wonder why he wasn't obsessing over them after he learned that magic doesn't exist.
