I want another Welcome to NHK where this time around the main guy is a zoomer that became a hikikomori after covid, and the main girl is an onlyfans model with mental illness. (not actually OnlyFans since it's not popular in Japan, perhaps a girl who posts lewd photos on Instagram instead, or maybe even a prostitute idk) Good or no? |

I mean to an extent anime already has these tropes. There have been shut-in or NEET characters for like...over a decade. But as people said above, these are usually just quirks for a girl in a harem or something the MC overcomes via a harem... so yeah. I don't know if a "serious" anime about stuff like this would be made any time soon (or be popular). |

@traed uh yeah, generational theory is real... or the labels wouldn't have existed in SOCIOLOGY and PSYCHOLOGY textbooks since... the Baby Boomers and The Greatest Generation and The Forgotten Generation started growing up. the main issue at hand is INTERNATIONAL issues. those labels mostly MOSTLY apply to Americans and other Western Countries. trust me, Japan has their generational theories as well. you just happen to not know them. |

nope, not good. i wouldn't watch that. sounds vapid, shallow, and nobody would read that source manga/light novel except those over 20 years old who are too overly involved in their 'identity as a group'. also, The Zoomers? uhh... haha... you gonna wait another one to two DECADES till they grow up and have enough purchasing power to influence pop culture and multi-media empires with their cash? Zoomies are babies right now, the MILLENIALS are the ones in their 20's with the big money that corpo types want to target. |

@KiliianSleipnir I meant the divides are drawn arbitrarily on a predetermined cycle and the main differences come from different ages and social circles rather than what generation someone was born in. Major events can influence people but such things do not occur on a predetermined schedule and they are different country to country and through different socioeconomic classes. |

@LenRea guess who those lil ZOOMIES' parents are? get a clue about WHO HOLDS THE PURSE STRINGS! just because the SHOW is for lil kiddies doesn't mean mommy and daddy are going to let Timmy and Jane use their credit cards on Amazon and buy merch and disks. also, have you WATCHED Five Nights at Freddy's? oh i dunno, murder, shoving people's brains in machines, suggested cannibalism, more murder... you letting a lil kiddy watch THAT? wow. child abuse much? also, clean up your language. or are you one of those folks that autistcally drop fbombs on responses on everything that disagree with you? LenRea said: which generational grouping do your TWO SUGGESTED MAIN CHARACTERS belong to? that is targeted media saturation by age group right there. if you don't get it, and you WROTE it? wow. you're the clueless one. hikikomori after covid, and the main girl is an onlyfans model with mental illness. the age grouping overall by multimedia in Japan is separated MAINLY by the ages of the characters themselves. shojo is written with mostly those age bracket characters, along with shonen. the subject matter for seinen and ladi comi/josei are mature subjects best left to adults. the consumers mostly identify with characters who are similar to them in a few ways, age being a majority perspective. |

@traed many of them are historically accurate not arbitrary. the periods those folks were born in are fact and that is indisputable. the overall trends are gathered from millions upon millions of examples which easily lead to obvious statistical similarities. age and social circles are exactly what the generations are made up of, sociology is the study of social groupings which start at the broadest and most inclusive definitions possible. considering the worldwide impact of WW1 & WW2 they are EASILY the two most significant signposts on the planet since The Iron/Bronze/Stone ages. The Baby Boomers are literally named for the EXPLOSION in birth rates WORLDWIDE internationally post WW2. The Greatest Generation is so named due to them serving, surviving, and thriving during the years WW2 ravaged the whole Earth's human population. but i do agree, everybody AFTER the Boomers is a bit arbitrary. the metrics are more social and qualitative and less quantifiable. but! when those INSIDE those later generations easily EASILY see similarities amongst themselves... and often self-label or generally accept said label... and socio-economic (and yes nationalistic) conditions are the same? as i stated before, most of the labels presently bandied about in 'the media' post Boomers are Western in origin and apply mostly to those regions. but the Japanese use the Pre and Post war eras in their generational studies. rise in women's rights in their country. economic disparities, boom and bust/Bear and Bull markets/recessions etc. heck, anime itself gives great illustrations in how the Japanese have generational ideas and 'stereotypical concepts'. |

@rbp_pbr2 CSM is a badly animated shonenshit that endorses modren coomerism attractions, and it also supposedly takes place in the 90s. So, no, it's not the equivalent of a NHK with zoomer references. |

@LenRea I'm not saying it's the same thing, they're products of their time which I thought was what you were trying to get at. If you want something closer in spirit to NHK then something like Yofukashi no Uta might be it, but it is not trying to engage with conspiracy brain in the way that NHK was. I posit it more as an example of the zeitgeist, which I think NHK was. Also, if it is set in the 90s that would kinda support my assumption about what it is, lol. If you want real trash zoomer nihilism then there's always rent a girlfriend, a show so poisoned I don't think it even has a commentary... just seems to be a joyless statement. |

@LenRea Just hating on csm for no reason at all... Masterfully directed series with godtiers character acting and art direaction. The storyline is as different from "shonenshit" as it can get (read the next arcs) but i guess you know it since haters tend to be well informed on the shows they're talking shit about. |

Who are you and why do you show your hostility towards a complete stranger whom you've not once spoken with before. Are you seriously asking to get blocked? Well, if that's what your intent is; to tempt me into throwing hands with someone as lowly and insignificant as you, then i may grant your wish provided you articulate yourself a bit better when trying to spite a person of my wavelength. |

@LenRea I have that sentiment so yeah. Id rather something to troll the audience to get their reactions. Have some fat otaku guy get an e girl by learning how to talk to her and treat her right and then after loses weight going vegetarian and doing calisthenics not lifting then meets a femboy that makes it become a harem but not a pick me kind more like poly end. MC's favourite food: pineapple pizza from a pizza place that employs lolis but the main loli that delivers his pizza likes to eat bugs. I mean that sounds like an anime enough doesnt it. |
