We got a case involving the supernatural, aka vampires. It includes detective work and gave me some mystery vibes.

Shizuku is somewhat of an interesting character and she's got that sort no-nonsense personaltiy. Aya's head showing up was a highlight moment. She had so much presence in that room.

Totally did not expect this anime to have a serious detective element. With a good mixture of action and investigation and supernatural it could be a Bungou Stray Dogs!

I feel bad that Tsugaru bullying that poor drunk driver, and then I realized that it might be a part of his plan, that drunk driver might secretly gathering evidence around the vampire's mansion to help Tsugaru.

This was quite deflating. What happened to their objective? Why is this suddenly a detective story?

The guy sprint-tackling a deer in the intro was pretty fun.

Aya and Tsugaru are on the vampire case!

This anime has such a great mixture of mystery and comedy moments that fit well together. The dialogue as well, very snappy, funny, and to the point. It kind of reminded me of Bungou Stray Dogs, which has a similar style to this show. It also had a very "whodunnit" style of mystery, with a very interesting setting around vampires and the supernatural. I love the presence that Aya has when she's in the room, despite her just being a head in a cage. She commands every scene she is in with the way she speaks, and her voice actor is doing such a great job. Really excited to see more of this mystery unfold.

I've to go back and check if I was watching the right series until that opening hit lol. Though that does only mean one thing that some brief time has passed since the trio of Tsugaru, Aya and maid started traveling. I mean they have already made a name of themselves throughout the europe.

Also bro, think how does it feel like when even the vampires in flesh couldn't help but get scare away from the sight of a talking severed head.. must be a good world they're living in.

If this show too is like a series of solving one not-so-normal case after another, then that's all better. Looking forward to what they'll come up with in this vampire murder mystery.

Looks like a better written Kyoukou Suri. This episode went by in a blink of an eye, while KS, especially in the second season, got so boring I felt like it was dragging on. Question is if it will get boggled down in episodic stories of keep moving the actual plot forward.

So it’s a better written kyokou suiri? My interest is even more piqued.

This vampire murder case is really interesting. I think they’re intentionally making the dad look suspicious but it’s probably someone we don’t suspect like the daughter. The person struck at night instead of the daytime and no one’s senses went off, so it implies that it wasn’t anyone from the outside because they’d have noticed.

As usual love aya and Tsuguru dynamic and their conversations in this episode. Their seiyuus flow together so well.

Also very small detail that 99 percent of people won’t care about, but as a history and language guy I really like that they show a French and German newspaper in that one shot. Given its eastern France in the late 19th century, Alsace region would’ve spoken both languages.

I assume that was a vampire hunter in the scene after the ed theme...

It seems the plot will mostly focus on the individual detective stories that potentially all build up to the main encounter with the mystery man who took Aya's body. Very interesting episode overall, with some great dialogue and comedy. It's always a good sign when a 20 minute long episode feels like 5 minutes. That flew by.

So looks like last episode was to introduce us to this detective group, and now we're seeing them tackle this new case of vampire murder(?)
Definitely giving those Sherlock vibes, but as a disembodied head.

Very enjoyable show thus far. It could easily be pretty slow since it is so dialogue heavy, despite the supernatural hook. However, the production values, the direction, and dialogue itself are all quite engaging. I was genuinely surprised when the episode ended; it seemed to go by so quickly.

This definitely has the potential to be one of my favorites this season. And I do love the OP.

The ending to this episode was somewhat abrupt but otherwise, a decent episode overall. The mystery deductions went by pretty fast actually, Rindo wasted no time at all with the whole thing. Compared to something like watching a 1000 episodes of Conan, the mystery stuff here went by in a breeze. I haven't read the manga yet so will have to wait and see the clear identity this series is having but at least as a standalone episode, this was solid. With any conclusion or at least an impactful kind of cliffhanger, this would have been even better since that part did feel a little bit deflating for me.

What a weird way to end the episode. Usually if you have to end on a cliffhanger, the story would usually reveal that

Super weird timeskip just jumping to these characters being established and doing detective work I guess cause it will help Aya find her body or whatever? Apparently the manga actually started with this vampire story and the flashback comes later so that explains the skip. But tbh I think this would have worked way better as a first episode and then we can learn the details of how these two met later but whatever.

I love the interaction between Aya and Tsugura, it's just so smooth and hilarious.
An interesting supernatural detective case, I bet that it was his youngests on or the butler.

Nvm should have watched the last few secs lol

The younger son did it, calling it now. The murder must’ve been done before they went hunting otherwise the wife would’ve been woken up by the youngest child and maid singing.

I like the little exchanges between Aya and Tsugaru. Their overall dynamic reminds me of something like Cop Craft.

Just hope they don't get too overboard with her beeing genius, catching everything just by looking at it, every new episodic adventure. There are hundreds of these and they tend to get real boring, real quick, without making much progress in the overall story.

Im hopeful, tho :)

This is still one of the biggest surprises of the season. Mixes a lot of genres and interesting characters. These 2 episodes have been a joy to watch. The main 2 and their chemistry is great. Everyone being confused at who was talking not realizing it’s a head in a bird cage was funny too.

Aya and Tsugaru's dynamic is so peak, I love their friendly rapport and how Aya actually finds Tsugaru's antics and lame puns funny. it feels so unique compared to what I usually expect from a master/assistant relationship. absolutely my favorite aspect of the show so far.

the synopsis finally makes sense. I guess episode 1 was backstory, and now we're getting into the actual detective stuff. I'm super excited to see where this goes... honestly, already crossing my fingers for a second season, if only because I want to watch Aya and Tsugaru banter for more than just 13 episodes.

Woah, this ep was over in a blink. I was so engaged. Loving the detective element, so I don’t mind that there’s a detour from the main plot. Tsugaru and Aya seem to have broken the ice and they get along well. Really don’t want to wait a week for the next one. Will definitely be reading the manga after the show is done.

Tsuguru is just so hilarious with his sarcasm.

I do wonder if they'll get into WHY he's/they're called the 'bird cage detective' and/or what case led to that moniker rather than just leaving it as "he carries around a bird cage that's why..."

this episode was really interesting. i was so invested in what was happening that i didn't even realize how long it had been until the episode was over.

tsugaru, aya, and shizuku are a funny trio. im looking forward to seeing more of them. although i wonder what happened in between last episode and this one? i thought they were looking for the guy who took aya's body? i guess these are just like, side quests on the way? lol. either way i enjoy it
