Episode was uploaded early on Hulu.

Pretty good first episode, liked it. Noir is cute, she has no memory though but she can help pilot the mecha. Ellie is cute too, I wonder if the ship'll sail. Action scenes were decent. Like the mech designs, quite colorful. The visuals and other designs are quite colorful in general too.

All in all this seems good in all departments so far. Noir gave me some Major vibes from Ghost in the Shell but without the brains.

There is a lot of potential to be had. So i'm quite stoked.

What da fuq with those 3D-printed rectangular sushi? They were looking sooo fake and fking inedible.
btw, I'm rooting for you, Ellie. Honestly, she needs to start doing something and gain some points as soon as possible.

Pacman exists in this world, interesting… Badass granny, granny's out there kicking butts.

Very standard albeit decent premise. Shame about the awful, weightless vehicle animation. Especially the truck moved like a kicked cardboard box instead of a heavy vehicle. Mechs jumping around was jarring as well. People using coin pouches with a holographic technology all around was weird too. I don't think paper money is so hard to reinvent in a post apocalyptic world. Other than that, it was just another Gundam like with a post apocaliptic setting. Nothing more, nothing less. Then again, these days not having an awful opening episode with garbage writing is already enough to put a show on the radar. Let's see how it goes.

Woah this one shocked me I expected it to be mediocre, but it's got me hooked! Giving me Cyberpunk Edgerunners and Nier Automata vibes. Hulu also has the episode already lol.

This show adapts an upcoming third-person shooter RPG game schedule to come this year called "Synduality". Our main protagonist Kanata aspires to be a Drifter, explores the museum ruins with renowned Drifter Tokio, and discovers a Magus with no memories and seemingly weak and well a fraud basically that does nothing. When some Enders attack Rock Town though it's seemingly too much for our side cast, Kanata steps into the role of being a Drifter with help of the Magus he found. The tag team defeat the boss of the Enders and Kanata accepts finally becomes a Drifter alongside the Magus who he names "Noir".

The comedy in this is actually on point most of the time especially the old women she gave me some good laughs. The story while being a little confusing you'll understand the main gist by the end of the episode. The soundtrack also fucking slaps holy I love it the fight OST in the beginning was so good. Speaking of fights let's get the elephant in room out of the way, yes there's CG which is nothing new from 8-bit, although it's not bad most definitely not as horrendous as the Blue Lock CG. They've gotten better 100%

Overall, it's sad to see that not many people will see it due to it being behind Disney Jail or Hulu or wtv it is. This is a good show that makes me more excited for the game to come out later this year, now let's just pray it doesn't give us clinical depression like Edgerunners!!!

Noir is just too cute.  Anyway, I like what I see so far, but at the same time I fear that this will go down the path of Scarlet Nexus, which is also a Bandai game at that.

okay there were a lot of shiny, colorful explosions, and that's pretty much it. apparently I have to have played the game to understand what the hell goes on, because right now I feel like I've just watched 20 minutes of nothing but sfx

A Disney+/Hulu show that's unique, this is as unique as it can be, though it's trying too hard to get my attention.

The upcoming mixed-media game set alongside the timeline of tje 2-cour anime, and it presents of monsters and mechs called Coffins. Most particularly, this boy of the lonewolf Drifter Kanata, saving the android girl Noir from its Nest. Though Kanata is pretty much a ladies' man to the capable Maguses, though the whole thing with Noir is pretty much a misunderstanding from Ellie and Ange's point of view.

Kanata bringing Noir to the master tinkerer that is Maria to inspect who and what Noir is truly about, through a swarm of Enders come attacking with the Maguses and Drifters all vying for defensive control. Noir comes in aid being a special Drifter to Kanata to drive the Enders out.

This show is trying to be lots of material references at the same time: from Hideo Kojima's Zone of the Enders to pure Gundam with the Tears of the New Moon city. So far, this has not grabbed my attention yet, and I can foresee that in time, Synduality: Noir will be the next subpar anime adaptation quality of Blue Reflection Ray.

Studio 8-bit is a quality studio, but that's about the only praise I can give to this premiere. What an awful start if the understanding is not reinforced as the episodes progress.

It's been quite some time since a good Mecha series. The cyberpunk-mecha survival theme of Synduality : Noir was able to create anticipation for the plot.
Overall the first episode was awsm made me glad that it's more than 12~13 episodes.

I have mixed feelings. For most parts I think it's only a bunch of elements and tropes we've seen many times before without something that's bringing them together to give the show it's own appeal. On the off chance that the plot development pleases me, I'll stick with it for a bit more. It's 24 episodes after all and maybe it surprises like Back Arrow.

Here to see what this new Bandai Namco project is all about, and there are a sprinkling of Bang Dream and a Love Live seiyu in the mix.
Its no Sanzigen or Sunrise or Studio Orange quality of CGI thats for sure. Like Antanaru saud, some of the CGI mechs and vehicles lacks mass, and the frames per second mix is jarring, but its typical your average of sc-fi CGI show, which makes it kinda meh with this lack of polish.

There's been a few shows, which uses the master-servant; human-robot:AI archtype, Beatless comes to mind....I sense this show may end up scoring similarly.

Apart from that, OST is great, 2D animation is also good.
There's some indirect explanations of the world; the magus have this triangle at the bottom of their necks, the humans can get pretty chummy with them....like the bffs and butler dynamics seen.

Wow, visuals with pretty colours!
Wow, mechanical porn!
Wow, music!
Wow, pacing!
Flat cliche lewd characters, tho.
I never understood food porn.
All the sci-fi tropes under the sum in one show - pfff.
Flashback in the most intense moment - I hate when writers do that.

Not sure about the world, looks interesting so far.

The art style looks pretty with all the colourfulness but the CG just does not blend well at all. Some scenes it looks like im watching a videogame. That aside seems like a good start so far but cant really judge the show with so little info given so far.

I feel like I've seen this anime before.

Magical/Robotic/Clone love interest found/abandoned frozen in cryostasis by the main character which makes tsundere love interest jealous/untrusting and is also actually the "key" or unknown/ancient artifact/princess that is being targeted by the villain but will also help lead the resistance in a post-apocalypse future (with mechs?) that has forgotten about human civilization?

Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Gurren Lagann, Kaina of the Great Snow Sea, those are just the few off the top of my head.

I'm probably forgetting many others that fit this general mold a bit better.

Well, I like the 3D and effects animation. Maybe the mechs have a bit too much of this "toy" look to them? Actually, Gundam look too much like overdesigned "toys" to me so please take that criticism with a grain of salt.

I'd probably rather play a game that looked and felt like this anime rather than watch it but I guess I'll give it the 3 episode rule...

i reflected a bit and want to chime in on why this anime did not really make me impressed.

First off, I really want to like this, I even ordered the HG Daisy Ogre because it looks like a toilet bowl with dual cockpits, and has wheels. Ever since code geass any mecha with wheels wins in my book

But in the anime, the Enemies for a start did not really mesh well animation wise, they look out of place, plastic and lacks substance, and they just stand there doing nothing waiting for the main characters to talk to one another, on multiple instances. This kinds of took out all the tension out of the fight scenes.

the mecha is alright, maybe lacking weight? The floors are cracked in the starting ruins, you can see it in a few scenes. But when his friend, in the purple mecha jumps and landed on the enemy, the flooring did not even chip, nor show any intense screen shakes, nor totally fall to a lower level, things that you would expect from a giant bipedal machine jumping around in a building.

Okay, not totally weightless, you can see the truck shake a little when the purple mecha jumps onto it, but the mecha really feel like they lack weight, you would expect the impact to at least make the truck swerve a little. Not weightless, but really light and lacks impact.

The way the mechs hold the rifles, not even butt to the suit also makes me wonder why design the mecha rifles like normal rifles. Also cutting the enemies with chainsaws and knives in giant mecha having such clean cuts is eh... I would expect stuff to tear or partially me smashed in the process, like deform a little, but that did not happen.

like using the truck to run things over, those enemy thingies just bounce off the bonnet, doing no damage to either the truck nor the enemies. I would expect the truck to have a cracked windscreen and bloodies wheels but no.

It is like a game where everything is pretty much indestructible.

maybe these complaints are just prejudice from me being to used to watching other mecha anime which are arguably "bigger" in terms of scale, like Gundam or Eva. I really want to like this but ended up not, and now I am unhappy with myself for watching it a second time because it bugged me enough that I have to go find out what is wrong.

Not sure what to think. Pretty tropey, nothing very original here but some nice animation I suppose. 24 episodes I wonder what they will do with all of that time because I’m not sure how much potential the story set up has. Maybe it will change my mind? For now I’ll try to see if I can enjoy it. It could go either way.

That was pretty good. Not what I was expecting but not necessarily in a bad way. I hated the shitty cg mechs at first, but then came around to them by the end of the episode due to the janky mid 2000's style charm this show has. Noir and Ely (and her oneechan, but I forgot her name) were pretty cute too.

It felt less like a show and more like a game trying to be a show. Some of the outfits were very forced to likely try to match outfits from a game. The enemy names were very forced... when they said "boss" I broke. At that point I googled it and my suspicions were confirmed... it is a game -.-.

I will say that the game looks far more interesting than this show and that as a marketing tool it did make me look up the game. That's about all I can say though.

Unexpected to see such a show from Hajime Kamoshida who wrote Seishun Buta Yarou and Just Because, but this first episode doesn't look too bad.
I'm going to give this one a try, hoping that the writer will manage to create some unexpected characters and situations.
At least the execution is correct (I just wish there was less music or more inspired one).
EDIT: Well, Kamoshida did some Gundam too apparently, I guess I'm not cultured enough. :-)

LOL, the summary with the rain literally reminds me of [DEATH STRANDING].

(now I want them to make a [Death Stranding] anime), LOL

.

anyways.... it's quite interesting, especially since they have advanced tech vs what seems to be... mech-organic-aliens-like creatures, LOL.

(tho summary says the animals got mutated, but why would they get blasters? lol...) (it also says they live underground... but they literally starts out on the surface and there are roads and domes...)

.

Also, 3D Printed Sushi huh... interesting...

And apparently even with advanced Tech, they have no idea what a old computer mouse is? and apparently Disney is dead, they only know the lyrics that mention them but not the actual characters.

.

YUP.

.

BTW... random "WELCOME TO THE FUTURE"... in english, Yup, add english into anything Japanese-based and it'll sound cool. (like magic spells, FIREBALL, lol)

We've got mechs, that need two different people to pilot them, one being a "magus" and the other looks to just be a ordinary human, they are fighting some weird type of monsters and there's this legendary city that may or may not exist called paradise...doesn't seem to be the most unique thing ever, but characters seem kinda fun so maybe it'll be fine.
This Noir saying "i'll take you to paradise" makes it pretty obvious the importance she'll have to Kanata, seeing as the place he wants to go to also was called the same thing, or maybe its just a coincidence.

I found it quite enjoyable to watch, and the production quality is pretty good. Although there are many references 😂, it would be great if they could simply focus on telling a straightforward "boy meets girl" story, with some monster battles and sweet moments along the way, without messing things up too much.

Decided to restart this from the ground-up, so here I go.

An original mecha series from Seishun Buta Yarou author Hajime Kamoshida, how will he fare this out?

A group of explorers finding a Magus girl, that's what Drifters Kanata and Tokio found out by encountering a horde of monster Enders and escaping to safety, back to their mobile Nest of Rock Town. Tokio has his Magus in the form of butler Mouton, and Kanata has to do an inspection on the mysterious Magus, despite being recruited by Aventure to become a Drifter to pilot on the Coffin mecha. Of course, there's always that one jealous friend in the form of Drifter Ellie with her Magus Ange, and the world has the feel similar to Konami's Zone of the Enders game.

The "Tears of the New Moon" and "Paradise" definitely is abbreviated to a Japan of history, though Kanata wants to find out more about the mysterious girl, so he brings her to Maria to inspect her systems, which they find that like them, she's normal on the outside. Though with the swarm of Enders suddenly coming to attack Rock Town, all Drifters and Maguses engage in battle, though Kanata wasn't one to be qualified just yet from the past that he has been handling things himself: a wannabe Drifter without a Magus to power the Coffin. That's where the girl comes in to assist him, barring the first time that Kanata can get the sense of what it means to be a Drifter.

A decent premiere episode, with Kanata and Noir's first collaboration.
