It looks like Falma skills are being recognized more and more in their world. Also, something interesting I noticed is the way society behaves in this series, between commoners and the richer folks.

No matter what though, Falma would treat everyone the same because he's a kind person.

Those early cosmetics where pretty dangerous they contained all kinds of things that where pretty bad for you, the again pretty much everything was bad for you during the industrial revolution they even used some metals to produce food.
Much of the harmful effects where simply now known back then so in some cases it's understandable but in some cases but still.

But even if we look at the past even now we are pumping lot's of bad stuff in to the air by using fossil fuels and just look at the amount of plastics that end up in places where it shouldn't.
However now we know the risks.

Anyway it seems Falma's store is gaining traction but it also seems others are taking notice and there even seems to be some spionage going on.
Falma needs to look out.

For those watching through Crunchyroll, it's unbelievably slow for some reason today. episode is out now.

The Parallel World Pharmacy is open for business, albeit at a slow rate with lots of supply and low demand. That's where Charlotte comes in with the survey about the place, and the replies are varied from perception, both good and bad for Farma to distinguish how the business should be run. Even more so, his parents coming in disguise to inspect the pharmacy and help Farma re-establish the business from their POV, that is the best case for now.

Not long after, a duty for Farma to respond to the call and attend to this Lady Chloé de Chatillon, her abnormality: wounds from bloodletting from the usual pursuit for beauty. And Farma from the request of making ladies' cosmetics, tries to help in creating safe foundation for Chloé, steps and procedures taught (which basically, is modern cosmetics brought to the fantasy world).

And this lucrative business begins to boom introduces the problem of manpower, and it wouldn't be bad if Farma joined hands with Chloe to form a company to handle more work, expanding the pharmacy, which in turn, gives good ratings.

Where there's business, there's bound to be competition, and indeed there needs to be control...and when the kingdom takes over, it can be good or bad.

Why did he look happy when the Queen told him to raise his prices? Was she only referring to his cosmetics or for everything? Wasn’t his goal to provide affordable medicine to everyone? I figured he’d reluctantly agree. I have some theories but it seemed out of character.

lmao when he started making beauty products I KNEW it would blow up(also reminded me of World's Finest Assassin). But btw why did he seem happy about her making him raise prices? Part of his businesses appeal is to get medicine and other things for people who can't afford it? Like yeah medicine is different than beauty products, but the commoners were really excited about getting noble beauty products at a price they can afford, and she's like jack up the prices.

Well if he releases the production method so that other, presumably commoner, companies can make it, than it would make sense for him to raise prices. Definitely not clear if she meant raise prices on his cosmetics and medicines or just cosmetics.

Great episode! Parallel world pharmacy doesn't have many customers at all it seems because of some misunderstandings and people not knowing they don't need to act different infront of nobles...
Farma's mother and father visited the store in some very bad disguises xD.
His mother suggests selling cosmetics perhaps. His father knows that white face powder amongst other stupid cosmetic stuff people like are harmful surprisingly.
Lady Chloe has fallen ill and Farma is called fast to help her. Seems the cause has been bloodletting without being ill causing infection also...
Apparently she did it because someone rejected her as her skin wasn't pale enough?!
Farma says to come back in a week and it seems he has devised a face whitening powder that has no toxic metals in it. It also protects against the sun's rays!
Chloe is very happy with the products! And they are a hit amongst the general public also! There is so much demand for the products that they can't keep up with demand!
Chloe says she will finance an independent subsidiary company for cosmetics with Farma as the proprietor! 'Medique' is the name of the cosmetics. The employees at the new store are women who weren't allowed to work after childbirth but were very happy to be welcome here!

Looking forward to the next episode!

I feel like it's a staple now in these sort of anime that Cosmetics have to be made in these fantasy worlds lol. This show so far really doesnt stand out compared to others with the same premise yet the praise is very high.

Yeah they didn't clarify on what needed to be raised. It would have made sense if it was the cosmetics but she just said Products and he's just like "Okay" Very Unusual.

How did you go from curing a deadly disease to making cosmetics in 3 episodes?
Those were two wonderful episodes to start with and now it's just the same as always. The man literally worked himself to death because he couldn't get over the loss of his sister to some illness and now we find out that he used to test cosmetics too?
What's next? A cooling ointment, a perfume or an energy drink?

Finally, the pharmacy SoL has begun now that the intro stuff is out of the way, and I really enjoyed this episode. Elen is very hot in her pharmacy uniform (but when isn’t she hot lol) and it was interesting seeing all the methods to they used bring people into the Pharmacy. I also really liked the bit where Farma’s parents showed up, their little back and forth was cute, and wow Farma’s mom has some wild hair but she’s also a babe lol.

Chloe’s situation was an interesting one for sure, I enjoyed learning about how the beauty products they were currently using were harmful, I’m glad Farma was able to help her, and in the process he also created a beauty product subsidiary company lol, it’s nice the way things have kinda fallen into place for Farma in this episode. The after credits scene was great too, seeing the empress get wowed by the lipgloss was funny lol, this kinda takes me back to “Drugstore in Another World” when they did beauty products too. And now Farma is being told to raise his prices so he doesn’t smother out other businesses and merchants, which makes sense, he’d become Walmart otherwise lol.

And as a final note, I’m really enjoying the classy outfits the noble women wear in this, Chloe and her friends were ones in particular, it’s nice to see that style from time to time, at least I haven’t seen it in a while.

More gains made on Falma's healthcare agenda. Aside from a specific country that enforces no shit about it, our boy in isekai has his pharmacy finally set off after a month in the dry zone, and it's funny that cosmetics actually started the positives for his company.

I actually didn't know bloodletting, and by the looks of it, it is a bloody process indeed. And along with the white mercury being used as a whitening product, it is really some rough times before stuff got revolutionized. Either way, glad that Chloe is helping with the Medic (Cosmetics) side of the business, and with that the pharmacy side is booming as well.

The last part where the Queen advices Falma to share his info a little is wise, by the looks of it he is about to monopolize the pharmacy industry, and the smaller shops are in danger of getting crushed, so that's a nice advice from our Queen who just got her lips glossed up.

No surprise no one has stopped by the pharmacy even after a month. What this dude is doing is revolutionary lol. He’s upending like centuries of tradition by having a noble run pharmacy for the common people!

Lotte is proving to be a huge help! The survey was a great idea, it gives pharma an idea of what to address. That old man is pretty suspicious though… must be working with the guild.

I love that Pharma’s mom and dad came in their “disguise” lmao. They’re such a lovey dovey couple, it’s so adorable! The cosmetics was a good idea. Insane they’re bloodletting to look pretty. Sacrificing your health for beauty is a problem even in their world huh? I figured Pharma would use a whitening cream, though when he tried it on himself it looked like whiteface lmao.

I’m glad the cream was so successful it led to Pharma opening up a cosmetics company. He’s revolutionizing medicine AND the cosmetics world! Hearing what happened to the female pharmacists is pretty messed up actually. They should have laws in place regarding maternity leaves and all that. Pharma can tackle that next haha.

I’m actually a little concerned with the pushback from the competition. I’m glad they discussed that aspect a bit at the end. Banning the whitening powders is taking a lot of money away from people and making the cream so cheap is gonna hurt a lot of other businesses. Things are gonna be getting really tricky if Pharma doesn’t watch out.

I actually really like this anime. I love how everyone's opinion changed so fast after releasing some skincare products. Selling the skincare products brought everyone into the store and see what other things the pharmacy offers and the affordable prices. So it worked out and explains why he started off with cosmetics. I like that Lotte is performing research with a good sample size of 100 people.

The reason why prices need to be raised is pretty apparent lol he has to raise prices a little in order to make sure that small businesses don't fail and can still make a profit. Otherwise everyone would stop shopping at smaller pharmacy thus creating a monopoly. I'm sure there will be more information as to what they meant by increasing the prices. On top of that, he's making the recipes public so idk why everyone is confused about him agreeing to increase the prices. They explained it pretty well at the end of the episode.

I found this episode to be very wholesome. I dare say this is the best show this season. Also the whitening cream is just sunscreen lol

For the price raising topic.
Falma will share his cosmetic formula with the public so those commoner manufacturers can produce a safe one in the future. But the problem is that Falma's product quality will still be at its best and the commoner one will be worse than Falma's. So, if he still sells it at a lower price, the commoner manufacturers will not able to sell their products and they will bankrupt in the end and affect the whole economic system of the city. So, Falma needs to raise his price for making those commoner manufacturers can be survived in the market.

Now this is the premise that I came for. Starting with cosmetics may sound silly but it is rather a big deal in the medical field, especially nowadays with the advent of selling shady home-made cosmetics, diet products, and quick weight loss recipes online that does more harm than good.

Farma is such a great lad for bringing maternity and family leave to this world. I really liked the touch of him hiring all women who’d been let go and unable to find work because of it.

After a month, the pharmacy was not doing well. And thanks to Charlotte's survey, they saw people's different opinions.
Farma's parents went to visit him, in a "disguise" xd. His mother suggested something to attract more people. Sell cosmetics. And just came a customer he needed, Chloe. Farma makes her a cosmetic and that becomes popular. And the pharmacy already had many customers, but the products ran out quickly. And she tells him to make another store but only cosmetics. And Farma accepted, now he has two stores.
Good chapter.

For those asking about the price raising, here's my take:

Consider that this is the child of a noble family. He's got enough wealth and support from mommy and daddy that he could afford to charge whatever he wants without worrying about losing money. Plus his ability to magically create his chemical resources already makes supply costs practically a non-issue.

Commoner merchants do not have that kind of luxury. They have to consider how much money they are spending on supplies, employees, and their own cost of living when determining how much money to charge items for. No one could compete with his prices and they'd be forced to go out of business. For the sake of the entire pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries the queen needs him to raise his prices and be more mindful of his impact on the economy. It's not that he can't be competitively priced. He just unknowingly used his privilege (as a nobleman and as a magical chemist) to under-charge at a dangerously low level (dangerous for the market, that is).

Of course that was clearly not his intent, nor has he probably really even thought about this shop as a money making venture (outside of probably wanting to make sure he can pay his staff), it's more likely another aspect of economics and running a business that he hadn't considered.

Now, if his goal is some kind of Universal Healthcare for the masses, this will likely need to be addressed and expanded upon further in the future. I'm curious to see where this goes.

Falma's parents using a "disguise" just so they can see how he's doing without being noticed only succeeded in getting his attention easier. Still, their talk about cosmetics made it look like they're flirting with each other, which was cute. =)

Falma did well in this episode. Upon seeing Chloe and what damage she was doing with her pursuit of having a fairer skin colour in order to please the one she loves, Falma was able to make a new cosmetic product that stops using harmful ingredients. In doing so, it was inevitable that demand would out-strip the supply, so I applaud Chloe for making a deal to open a new shop specialising in cosmetics to help him out, especially with the staff that she got to help, which was a very nice touch.

The most talked about part of the episode was the talk between Falma and the queen about the pricing of his products. Getting the bad substances banned was great, but having a good amount of his production into his products available for public use will help other stores to adapt without having to close up shop. Having said that, she was right to point out about having his prices low considering his position and the quality put into his products was giving him an unbalanced advantage over the competition and it would be pretty bad for the economy as a whole, so having him raise his prices (assuming that it's not a hefty increase, but a moderate one) was the right way to go about it. He's happy to agree to her request as I assume that it won't effect his overall goal, but with trial and error, he now has a better understanding in how to operate his shop and the pricing of his products more consistently.

The road to his goal will still have obstacles for him to get through. So with this in mind, I look forward to seeing what Falma will do next with his shop.

Farma’s all “don’t use that powder it can get in your lungs which is bad because it’s poison! Use this powder that could still get in your lungs instead! Totally fine because not poison” ....wtf Farma....surely any powder is potentially dangerous so he should have made suggestions of covering their nose and mouth with a cloth when applying it or something. Also if the mica particles get in their eyes that’s trouble too. Come on Farma why you so basic doctoring.

So his whitening product is just mineral sunscreen and makeup? I guess that makes sense since I can’t think of any well proven effective skin lightening method that is safe. Only that I’ve only heard of glutathione which is not very well researched and curcumin which also isn’t well researched for that purpose.

I guess he knows nothing of economic politics so he can’t really question it by giving a better solution. But he did mention publicly releasing the sunscreen formulation so for that it doesnt matter if the prices go up because he’s not interested in losing customers buying that product if other’s can make it. Like already @SoraSenpai mentioned by the vagueness is the problem.

Ig you cant compare this world too strictly to what it was like in real life, otherwise highly doubt there would be female pharmacists. My main problem with his subsidary is he's been making this stuff with his unique magical properties, or thats what I assumed. That would explain why he can sell things for so cheap, because he doesnt have to buy the supplies to make the items. I think its too convenient hes making all these cosmetics with so little experience with them in his old life.
Those are my only issues with this episode, I thought it was pretty good. I like that the queen had him bring up his prices to stabilize the economy.

This really shows what great lengths people went/go to achieve "beauty" - even having themselves injured and poisoned. Also makes you think about the past and how some things, now known as poisonous, were considered beneficial to you. That also makes you think how many things we use today will one day be regarded as poisonous... It's a terrifying thought.

Ah, that makes sense, thanks for explaining that! I, and a few others, were wondering why Falma was smiling when the queen said to raise his prices.

Not much drama in this episode, and I was thinking about the competition being unhappy with Falma's prices so it was nice to see that it was addressed after the credits. Not sure if the competition will still look to shut him down in the future but I'm looking forward to see where this goes. Side note, Lotte was cute and helpful with her surveys, and Elen was looking good as usual.

It seems to me like that old fellow who became the pharmacy's first regular customer is actually there undercover for some nefarious purposes.

I don't know if it's involvement with corporate espionage from the rival pharmacies and pharmacists' guild to get information on the ingredients in at least the OTC storefront products, or for gathering intel to be used for terrorism.

I'm leaning toward corporate espionage. Either way it's a big looming problem.

Or I could just be misreading it or reading too much into it, but I thought it was made quite obvious.

Anyone else notice this and want to weigh in?

Many commonly prescribed medications having the true depth and range/scope of their ADRs and toxicology profiles obscured, for one. Which is why there are near-constant mass private and qui tam lawsuits.

This is easily becoming one of my favorites of the season. I forgot to mention this in a previous episode, but the fact that they don't point out the unnecessary wet shirt and seeing the bra through it is a good sign. No focus on sexualization, purely med/pharma.
The more I watch this though, the more he feels to be a doctor's with the seeing patients with pharmaceutical knowledge but whateverrr. I'm enjoying this show way too much as a med student lmao.

Yeah I mean, benefits for working women would have been a hugely progressive standard for any company 400 years ago, I mean "maternity leave" .. dude that would have rattled a lot of cages, very innovative, so much humane contribution for quality of life. Occupational physicians everywhere stand in ovation.

.. But the glaring issue here being child labor, I guess that's still A-OK since the owner is a child himself.
