| First of all you can wear it as an alternative for socks. Second it looks good. Third it attract men so they can wear them to make men flirt/hit on them. Fourth it heats up the atmosphere in bed. For me that's it, maybe there are other reasons for which a female user might be able to answer. |

| I personally hate the things. But as for their use, they are good for hiding a lot of skin blemishes on the legs. They are good for shoving everything in there and holding it in place so it looks nice. They can add a little bit of fun to an outfit, like you can get ones with little gems, or hearts, or whatever on them. They can be sexy, and they can also be more professional/classy, etc. |

| I've heard numerous different kinds of legwear referred to as "stockings" in my time Do you mean kneesocks, above-knee socks, pantyhose/tights, leggings or socks with garter-straps? No matter which kind of "stocking" you mean, the reason is fashion, as with any other article of clothing (For reference, Wikipedia defines a stocking as being a knee-high or thigh-high, form-fitting, (usually) nylon and/or translucent sock, sometimes with a suspender [garter-strap and garterbelt] at the point where one inserts their leg) And, of-course, anyone can wear them, not just girls Meanwhile, I just think they look nice. | (1) Because it's a kind of fashion. Don't you think girls with stockings look great? (2) Some girls are too lazy to shave their legs and they feel uncomfortable when showing their unshaved legs, so they wear stockings. Several years when I went to university interview I also wore stockings as my legs were unshaved. Stockings made me look more formal. |
