Yikes, humanity really does have a lot more to learn, from past, present, and future. As expected, Senko still shoots out his ideas like the brilliant guy that he is.

i mean, eternality is alluring, that much is true, as petrified stone tho, yikes.

Ohhhhhh so Whyman are an alien race and the reason they specifically petrified humans were due to their measurement of intelligence being the amount of radio waves emission and in response they expected to be repaired and reproduced? Man, when I started reading this I didn't expect the first chapter to be expalined in such a convoluted.

They even explained why the birds where the first ones to be victimized and the misunderstanding that happened on Treasure Island thanks to the way they were dressing. Those little details were key after all.

I now wonder how the negotiations are gonna be carried, whether it be the "no, we don't want immortalilty, go away" or "you may have another use for you", or even something else. This arc got really enganing, not gonna lie.

So it's an Artificial Intelligence that is programmed to parasitize life. It's only programmed to do that. I honestly have so many questions that I hope will get answered in the future chapters.

I hope they (Humanity) wins whatever battle they must fight against Why-man, but I hope there will be no fighting.

Why-man believes that eternal life is great and that ultimately humans should use the power to attain it. This chapter even goes back to the beginning and explains why the swallows got petrified first, great writing Inagaki.. Very interested to see how this negotiation will play out, knowing Senku he’ll reject immortality and embrace humanity.

WhyMan does not make sense, it wants humanity to build more Medusa devices but at the same time it wants humanity to be petrified (having eternal life)

WhyMan does not compute

so how Senku will negotiate with this confuse robot alien species

Eternal life by being petried? What's the point.

Also how are the humans supposed to make more medusas if they are petried. If it wanted them to overcome the petrification and then make more medusas that still doesn't make sense as it tried to petrify the the people who overcame petrification.

I think an important point is the perspective of the Medusa is quite different from humans. As machine lifeforms that last millennia and don't do much outside survive and propagate, they don't know what humans considering living. They view death as a flaw and presumed humans were smart enough to break out of the stone and the smartest will do so the most efficiently. Considering the implications that they may have done this before, this method might have worked with other planets

At this point i honestly think I would have been happier about an open ended ending after they got to the moon than whatever this nonsense is.

There's your answer about the swallows. Never forget there were people calling it a plothole because it wasn't immediately answered in the first chapter/episode.

Why-Man should grow some more intelligence to figure out that humans don't just want to be in an eternal state of limbo even though they never die.

While pretty much this chapter was about what I had expected it to be, it felt quite underwhelming. Both because the previous two chapters were fantastic, but also because ch. 229 didn't really answer a lot of questions. It could've been as well 1/4 of its length to present pretty much the same content.

Well many people are getting confused about how will humans reproduce medusas if they are petrified
Now here are my thoughts
Medusa/Why-man thought that humans were capable enough to be able to petrify and de-petrify themselves from within the stone. In this way humans would spend the important time of their lives outside and rest everything inside the stone.

Other than that, i love how every key detail is getting explained.
Honestly I was worried after reading the previous chapter that the further chapters might be bland, but boy was this explanation amazing.

This has to be one of the dumbest A.I. in fiction ever written.
It doesn't realize its experiment with petrifying a whole species backfired. If they measure intelligence with the amount of radio waves generated, and with their actions they reduced those to zero, maybe they shouldn't insist on petrifying the next batch of humans that pop up on their radar. It would only lead to the same outcome like the first time.

- Also you experiment on a small batch first, not the whole species and hope you didn't screw up.
- Three thousand years wasn't enough for them to get bored and move onto finding another species?
- If they rely on batteries which they can't make, how are they still not depleted? Constantly monitoring the planet for radio waves and repairing themselves takes a lot of energy. The Rei spin-offs message was that things degrade in space because of radiation and meteor showers. They should be depleted just by maintaining themselves for so long.

- Also how did they get to the Moon, and onto the Earth? They're ring like objects with no propulsion to travel.
- Why are the based next to the US flag? If they're blind as a bat and can only perceive radio waves then they could've landed anywhere on the Moon.
- If they can pick up so little radio waves as someone with a feather antenna polishing a stone, how come they didn't notice the ISS crew returning to Earth? Those guys were using technology for decades, they even recorded a song. Only treasure island got a rain of medusas, Ishigami village should also have.

We have so many good sci-fi shows and I was expecting more.
If Why-Man is this dense, defeating it won't be a problem. They could simply refuse the offer and it won't have any reason to stay, it won't get batteries. Or they could lie and say they need a thousand years to rebuild civilization to mass produce batteries, go home, and build a nuke and send it to the Moon.

The reason behind the why was the most predictable part. Of course it wouldn't understand humans if it just exists for the sake of existing without our needs.

Ngl those are some twisted priorities of Why man, a being who thinks petrification will bring everlasting prosperity to humans, as it gives eternal lives. Also can't argue with the fact that so many questions need to be answered about them.

These grand revelations have been over a hundred chapters in the making, it's good to finally understand what's the deal about... Everything...

Parasitic alien species in need of an intelligent civilization to manufacture their much-needed power source essentially searched and found the human race as its candidate, a civilization capable of producing massive radio wave signals with perpetuity, they then used the swallow due to its similar DNA structure to humans as its first 'target practice' when confirmed that all is going well, they unleashed Armageddon on Earth, petrifying the humans. Hoping that sooner or later, they'd understand that certification ensures that eternal life is feasible, fast forward to the Treasure island inhabitant unintentionally sending out radio waves via their hair accessories. A second certification event occurred. Senku woke up hundreds of years later on 3700+ due to the amount of brainpower he's constantly using. Eventually, they made the GPS which sends out yet another massive surge of radiowaves. The fact that humans are confirmed to be intelligent yet not following the bait of being granted eternal life completely and utterly baffled the parasitic why-mans. In fact, their nickname is derived from their bewildered frustration as they emit the phrase "WHY" over and over, not understanding why humanity hasn't begun reaching for the goal of eternal life.

Fantastic fucking explaination.
