A very action packed finale featuring Gashin, Amou, and Shion.

I have to say, they went all out for the fight and the main cast displayed a lot of skill. Probably the most intense action packed episode of the show. This is like one of those episodes that resolves one conflict but the grand in-universe conflict still exists. Second cour coming April 2022.

The insanity of trying to defeat the unmanned AMAIM Ghost within the efforts of the manned AMAIMs Amou, Gashin and Shion, it's an action-packed, hard-fought battle that either way, the Asian military will come out on tops to salvage the aftermath.

Quite the intense battle for the Asian military to leak intel that would help Amou and the rest to defeat Ghost with ease, a small price to pay for selling off loyalty. Of all the times, Amou showed his sense of justice now by actively fighting in close combat with Gai against Ghost, limiters disabled for full, unlimited power at the expense of overheating the MAILeS Kenbu. Even until the very end, Amou displayed courage and valor by facing Ghost head on until the point of destruction, sacrificing his life so that everyone else could live.

Brad Watt has claimed Ghost for his use...but what he intends to do with it...we'll have to wait.

The best episode ever yet, and leaving on a cliffhanger. Indeed, this wouldn't be justifiable if it was just THIS 1-cour alone, a 2-cour is fitting for this.

Part 2 of this show continues Spring 2022.

Not many things to latch onto in this "first part" of the story, the character were all very generic, the main girl was a cute waifu material as she was designed to be, the other dude was just your angry orphant who wants to kill the world and the main guy was just ... the main guy. Its really a weird thing i tell you, such a weak main trio, and yet you cant do the show without them.

The "politics" of this show needed a lot more to explain, the motives of many were questionable to say at least. And as this is a mecha show, i was expecting more and better fights. Second part can only improve.

I was thinking every time I saw the ending when Amon was going to die, it really happened, the anime is good and the characters aren't bad, for my bad luck what I liked the most or had some empathy was Amon, I understand he sacrifices himself , but that discourages me a little when I see the second part, except for Amon, the fights and the pets IAS was what I liked the most, I hope this part remains in the second part

I thought the western faction is gonna be the one who rescue Amou, turns out they rescure Ghost instead.

8 months later, yeah timeskip that usually follow a life-and-death outcome. Now let's wait and see the explanation on why Amou survive next year!

Is Amou really dead or will he and Gai come back and get the new unit because I think this is the most logical way to continue the story

Amou isn't dead, no way in hell because mecha pilots have survived worse, and Brad having the Ghost, hoo boy, it's either going to be the worst possible outcome or really not much at all.

Though it was a good plan Ghosts ability to evolve really is proving difficult for them to deal with. Brad really is enjoying the opportunity to learn about them by spying on them from long range. That Asian alliance officer lending a hand was nice to see. Still Ghost's ability to interface with other tech really makes it difficult to pin down. The Amou Gai teamup though was exactly the right combo needed to face Ghost on equal footing. Given Ghosts ability its quite possible that if it manages to cool itself it will be able to repair itself and come back and haunt them so i do get Amou's reasoning. Sometimes the choices we make on the field are not always the most sensible ones but nonetheless are ones that aim to protect the greatest amount of things that we care about. Overall an excellent finale that managed to end the series on a high note while setting the scene for the sequel that i suspected was already planned. This is Sunrise after all they have more than enough assets for this project. Can't wait to see what happens to Amou next year.

Wait, is this not the season finale? It’s saying “next time” in the preview so is it just split cour?

As for the finale itself I thought it was alright, Amou is definitely not dead, but his “sacrifice” was necessary. I think this has been a decent show, but I’m hoping in the second half the writing improves a little bit and the characters get some more development. The world needs more strong mech shows.

Good finale episode, really liked the fighting scenes. Definitely the best episode of the first cour

Unfortunately, I cannot agree with the overall opinion on ep. 13.

The fight felt quite flat and the special ability of Kenbu was never previously explained.
Amous "dead" seems like a cheap excuse to end the first part of this show.

All in all the content of this episode felt too short and the fight did not show the action that was previously established.

It was actually quite sad how Gashin and Shion left the empty battlefield covered in ash and no sign of Amou anywhere. Considering there are next episodes to be expected he can't be dead. Guy said he activated the pilot's life-saving mode after all.

Maybe it might not be coming in Spring 2022. It has been a few hours now and no one announced the second part on official Japanese websites, not even on the official Twitter and website of the anime. Might have been canned last minute and they forgot to erase that announcement in the episode or they are really late to announce it outside of the broadcasted episode lol.

EDIT: They finally announced it, 2 days later lol.

Final episode of first cour with the second coming in April 2022 I believe.
This was a great action packed episode and that fight against Ghost was just amazing! When Kenbu disabled its limiters that was a great scene! Amou and Gai are missing in action...

Been a pretty good show and looking forward to the next cour!

Wow Amou and that annoying AI definitely couldn't have survived that explosion right?

Pretty underwhelming even for a "babies first mecha" kind of show, thank goodness its over for now.

I actually liked this episode because we finally get a mech fight with some intensity and a potential loss at the end. Amou's death was a convenient way to write him off and bring him back hopefully with some character development. The second half of this series needs to dive into the politics more so that we can understand the motivations of the occupying factions and justify the actions of the resistance.

I have a feeling that this might not be a split cour because all we saw was a preview of episode 14 like it was going to air next week or something. It didn't say anything about Spring 2022 towards the end of the episode.

I end up with battles and it seems that Shiiba went bad in his robot, but ended up with an open ending, perhaps can have continuation.

A good Kyoukai Senki episode? My brain is confused.

In all seriousness, this was probably the best episode of this series so far (took them long enough). The fight was good and Amou sacrificing himself at the end, although cliche, was a great scene.

I also believe that this episode ties into the images used in the ED (Amou and Gai floating in the water, the floating shoe at the end, etc.). I thought that was kind of cool.

Hopefully the second cour can stay interesting (whenever it's airing)

fight was pretty good i felt like i''d pretty wild for them to actually kill Amou in the first cour but then i saw the cliff and was like yep he is most likely alive

funny the ED forshadowed this for the longest time but i didn't realize how much it did till now hes sinking down somewhere

well for a 1st cour and "baby's first mecha" it was fine we gotta take what we can get for Mecha fans ,think outside of the questionable main plot of all the nations and the taking back japan can be dodgy and the overall themes while there for war and struggle of restoring it i think they are mostly handled in pretty simplistic ways but gets the point across

6.5 /10 i feel like if they improve on the plot and keep the action decent it could end up being decent in spring

It was entertaining watching Mikazuki wreck shop in another mecha anime. When Xebec animates a big mech battle, it is always worth watching. I give this show a 4 out of 10. But the last three episodes were entertaining enough to give season 2 a shot. Check out Megaton Musashi if you wanted a well done mecha anime for this season. It was shaky in parts, but it corrects itself quite well.

I keep wondering if Amou is going the Kira or the Muu route from Gundam Seed. He is definitely not death, but this series is too naive for him to become a shadow operative like Setsuna on the S2 beginning.
I'm thinking that season two will feature Ghost hacking the American technology to create its own army.

Hmm, kinda tense battle against Ghost and now it seems like Amou and Gai had to really sacrifice to beat him, even though Ghost could go underwater before being destroyed so that sacrifice would be for nothing since now Brad Watt wants to use Ghost eh, but I think Amou will reappear during the next cour, we'll see.

In my opion, Kyoukai Senki EP 13 is sadly episode. When I repeat watching this EP, I crying out everytime.

Gashin is very pity boy. His father and his best friend(Amou) was passaway both.

I hope Gai was able to do all he could to save Amou's life and that they're both somewhere safe.

Is Brad Watt going to be the 2nd cour's villain?

Well we’re halfway through the show now, what do y’all think? Because while It certainly has it’s moments, I’m not really impressed overall; and I’m starting to feel indifferent to everything that’s happening. Will something drastic happen in the second half because this ends on a cliffhanger? I dunno.

I don't see why Amou couldn't have just torn Ghost's limbs off, or dug a ditch and throw Ghost into it and bury him with tree logs and blocks of concrete and stuff.
