I love it, eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's a shame no manga has been adapted in to an anime YET. But precisely because it's ero guro, I know it will be adapted eventually. Let's all pray to the erotic and grotesque gods to grant that cherished wish.

Its just Japan being weird, nothing wrong here.
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

It is abnormal if someone gets off to ero guro and they should seek serious therapy.

Sure, though I personally don't get aroused by it. For me it's mainly just being interested in how far authors are willing to go within their stories.

I have a fascination with the existence of cursed images, but I have always thought about whether I have the same fascination for a more deranged counterpart, gore.

I don't particularly like gore, but I cannot deny that it is interesting to see the most insane things sexual just be allowed to exist on a page. I've read some wild shit before, and it does feel particularly horrifying, but I got over it as quickly as I saw it. Gore is just, ew. But it always makes you curious, it is some kind of forbidden territory that only pushes forward the power of curiosity. So whilst I don't keep coming back like some mad man, I am always down to read some more.

I usually take everything in tho.

yessir, I enjoy reading it. arguably one of the easiest way to desensitization, but even more so in relishing catharsis (and curiosity) in extremes.

Yes. It is my favorite genre. Although I don't care much for just death. I prefer the torture like ripping skin off and ripping eyeballs out.

I mean I'm a fan.
With me, I got anxiety when I read "Domestic na Kanojo", so I stopped. The anime I loved watching and got only a little dread as I was waiting for it to finish airing, I'm a binge watcher after all.
I felt no anxiety while reading "Koe no Katachi", but I did feel it while watching the adapted Movie.

What that tells me is, stories with heavy content (that take a while to get you invested in them), affect me half the time, or two thirds of the time. While things like "ero guro" which don't involve diving in to deeply, but are mainly for the sake of shock value and momentary/ surface level feelings of disgust and whatnot don't bother me at all.

I think it's always been pretty interesting to see that sort of stuff- it's definitely a change of pace and well as I said, interesting. It's also a pretty fun way to get reactions out of my friends when I show them it.

Actually just finished reading one! (this) due to someone saying that I'd enjoy the authors work ^^;
Pretty much. I'm not "into it". But it is fascinating.

Don't think guro fans like guro for pleasure, they probably like it cause of their morbid curiosity. Is kinda the same with people who like true crime stuff

What's ero guro? I mean, I figured the words were pretty self-explanatory but then people started talking about Redo of Healer and now I'm confused ...

I think I've read one work of that category before when I was a teen? Traumatized the fuck out of me, but also desensitized me to literally anything anime and manga could throw at me, so in retrospect, I'm kinda glad I read it?

i didn't know what that was until like 6 months back. i found out about it while scrolling on reddit. someone commented something about r/guro. i clicked on it and to my surprise i found it actually pretty nice. realised that it was fucked up so i haven't consumed anything guro since then but yes i do like it and will probably enjoy it. some of the top posts at that time were pretty hot and some were kinda poetic as well.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.
Feeling half happy, half sad.

hey is there anyone who minds to be identified as a sick fuck by the author of this obvious question? yes, people actually enjoy niche kinks as they do with niche music or whatever else. Though you could say the question itself is a bait, and any sus answer such as this one clearly exposes a guro enjoyer

I find scat and ntr by far more disgusting, yet I value those kinks because if anything they remind me that we're all screwed up in the head, thus I shouldn't judge others harsher than I judge myself. Guro is literally nothing

I personally like it, particularly Eroguro Kei music albeit I feel like a vast majority of people don't really quite grasp just how far-reaching the term can be. While fetishistic, it's not always outright pornographic. I always think of that scene in Raichi Hikari Club where Zera licks Jaibo's eyeball or the album cover for "EROGRO" by R-Shitei that shows a vignette of a schoolboy giving a schoolgirl a blowjob; not outright male gaze-y porno stuff but shocking sexually charged material. The Guro means "grotesque", it doesn't mean "gory" so oftentimes it'll be teetering on the brink of sex and violence; choking, shame, dubious consent, etc. It can be as tame as simple adults-only gay sex (still fairly taboo, Japan goes by a sorta "gay for pay" model where homosexuality is only okay as a spectacle for money) and as hardcore as necrophilia, both material covered by my favourite Eroguro Kei band (the inventors of said musical movement) Cali Gari.

What I'm trying to say is that Eroguro is a very broad spectrum of material and not every fan likes what you have in mind. Some like the mild stuff, others the more hardcore stuff. Even mild scatological stuff like farts and vomit are considered "Eroguro", even ultra-tame movies like Ohayo are considered "Eroguro inspired" because of all of the fart jokes and Ozu's previous dabbling in the genre.

Had to look up what you meant and seems like something I'm interested in. I love fucked up grotesque shit. So someone suggest me maybe some anime that's close to it please.

Sick fuck, present. I mean yes I love it, but everyone is shying away from adapting TV, OVA or even hentai with it.

It will be adapted eventually. After all Goblin Slayer, Ishizoku Reviewers, Redo of Healer and Heion Sedai no Idaten Tachi were. It's not a question of will it, but how well will it be adapted.

I don't know whether it's cause I just like cuter things and pink stuff or something, but I think it's disturbing and disgusting so I would never

It makes manga, anime and cartoons more interesting. Any grotesque depiction of brutality, violence and deaths is feast for the eyes. Wish there are more of these shown in anime, like the demise of a certain guild in Danmanchi 4.

“Oh” said he, “one has got to learn how to make the best of horror; there is in horror matter to produce an erection, you see, and the reason therefor is quite simple: this thing, however frightful you wish to imagine it, ceases to be horrible for you immediately it acquires the power make you discharge; it is, hence, no longer horrible save in the eyes of others, but who is to assure me that the opinion of others, almost always erroneous or faulty in every other connection, is not equally so in this instance? There is nothing,” he pursued, ‘either fundamentally good, nor anything fundamentally evil, everything is relative, relative to our point of view, that is to say, to our manners, to our opinions, to our prejudices. This point once established, it is extremely possible that something, perfectly indifferent in itself, may indeed be distasteful in your eyes, but may be most delicious in mine; and immediately I find it pleasing, immediately I find it amusing, regardless of our inability to agree on assigning a character to it, should I not be a fool to deprive myself of it merely because you condemn it?” - Marquis de Sade; The 120 Days of Sodom
I began to sense faintly that secrecy is the keystone of all tyranny. Not force, but secrecy . . . censorship. When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, “This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know,” the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives. Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, a man whose mind is free.

I don't enjoy that stuff but these comments I find on ero guro doujins are always gold, they're much more valuable for my entertainment than the actual thing.
