| Even if this is supposedly quite accurate with its source material and pacing choice, it doesn't feel like anything particularly appraisable or worth any buzzfeed about at all. I might check out the source material real soon, but this premiere is extremely meek compared to that of Sk8 and Horimiya. The animation is alright for most part, but nothing really special. Kinda fails to capture the darker stuff properly, imho. I do like the easily established dynamics between Kabane and Kohachi, though. |

| Woah... way better than I expected. Based off of the first EP, loving this way more than Jujutsu Kaisen. And the music! It was wonderful. I'm always paying attention to the music and sound design, and this gets a passing grade from me. Haven't read the manga, but I hope that the adaptation does it justice. |

| I can already say that this is the best anime of this season. It really gave me the goosebumps when Kabane transformed and those ghoul dogs and that deer, Perfectly executed. And the OST is also interesting. To me it seems to be a mixture of Jujutsu Kaisen, Kyokou Suiri and a little bit of Dororo. That tail exposing scene tho, didn't see that coming 😅 I was expecting Inugami to transform into some weird looking creature.... Also I really wanted Yataro to die, these kinda kids really gets on my nerves... Kabane in that new outfit looks too cute XD Can't wait for next episode! Also looking forward to the OP by Ono Daisuke! |
| Yesss that was a surprisingly good first episode! Better than I was expecting ngl. I've been excited to see them animated since I read the news about the adaptation, i hope they continue doing a good job. It's not going to be a genre changing story but should be really enjoyable if they don't mess up |

| Great start, pretty dark for shounen anime and there is even a bit of gore. The ep was paced well, concept wasn't the most original one but still decent. Characters seemed likable, and it looks like moving to Tokyo will set premise of the anime. Damn Winter 2021 is fucking stacked. |

| I already started reading the manga a few months ago and I absolutely love it so I've been hyped for the anime to come out. I'm surprised at how well paced the first ep was seeing as how freaking long chapter 1 is (75 pages iirc). There wasn't really anything that was lost either as far as I remember. The animation was good as well imo. I assume it'll get better during the action scenes of which there was only one this ep, though I thought it was really good. The one thing I'll say is it doesn't hold a candle to the manga artstyle but that's to be expected (also I'm extremely biased lol). Overall I can't wait for the rest of the anime. Judging from the trailers they're gonna adapt to at least chapter 21, but I hope it ends up being 2-cour or gets another season. Just wishful thinking though. |

| To anime only watchers. The story gets A LOT darker/ heavier in later chapters. The author doesn't shy away on discussing real serious topic. It's not like your typical yokai slaying shonen which the emphasis is on combat/ killing/ gore/ monster of the day (ex. Demon Slayer, Jujutsu) but rather a serie that emphasize character's story ark and their trauma. There will be a lot of incidents in the story that discuss topics that're way darker than your typical yokai slaying shonen which the worst thing that could happen is massacre/bloodshed. The story will go on with deeper/ darker topic, such as using human as livestock for yokai/ prostitution. All I ask for is the quality of the animation/ art to stay at the level of the first episode for this serie to be successful. It's a shame this serie does not go on raider on most of western audiences even though the manga is such a good read and very original. |

| The start was nice. I had been wanting to watch something occult-themed. I really loved the way the episode was structured. They foreshadowed everything that would be important at the end of the episode, so nothing ever seemed like Deus ex Machina even though this is just the first episode. Because of this, despite the story being similar to most shounen anime, I really enjoyed the episode instead of being bored or annoyed. I wasn't expecting the anime to be so homoerotic, but that's always a good surprise. lol (But, I hope that from the next episode onwards, the homoerotic scenes happen between people of similar age groups, and not between adult and child.) |
| Expecting this show to really blow up later on. I'm glad they've stated the goal of the protagonist in the first episode. The opening also looks promising. |

| NGL this might be the biggest positive surprise of the season (IMHO) I was expecting nothing special and yet we got In/Spectre x Mob 100 with very good animation and Archer Seiyu <3 |

| Kemono Jihen, what a great way for First Episode episode to watch. My expectation for this anime in the beginning is gonna be center around village and Slow phased. But, after watching it, First episode have Pretty fast phased story with Great Action sequence but still prioritize Character and Story around Kabane with Inugami relationship. With what I just watched, right now I really looking forward to this anime. The Design Character for this anime from I read from discussion is not same as Manga but from my perception as Anime only Viewer is Pretty Good. Hope Yacchan character can be included in future episode having some relationship with Kabane and not only just to be a Plot Driven reason to Kabane can go from village. Overall Great yet Surprising episode that surpassed my expectation. I really looking forward for next episode. |

| Good resolve by Inugami. Now Kabane was released from his abusive and cruel relatives and will start a life of his own. Kabane seems skillful, defeated ghouls just like that! Wow! This is really fascinating!  |

| Seems solid. The premise looks like it can be interesting and it should be able to forge its own identity in the genre. The art and animation are both pretty average, but as long as the content is quality, that should not be an issue. |
