| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Whoa, a nine year timeskip, this is probably the largest one I've seen. That detective sure is wierd =P Also, I found the ending to quite interesting, "Monster is coming", I wonder what that meant, and what will happen now. |
| I'm confused about the ending too. I'm worried about where this show is going... I hope it doesn't have a cheesy supernatural twist to it, like Death Note. I rather like the realistic slice of life drama that's been present in it so far. |

| Okay was hoping for Kenzo to slap that bitch in the face, after she trew away the ring she wanted to come back with him? Also his life was totally destroyed for a period of time, at least hes happy after so long. 9 years timeskip thats really a long timeskip. I don't know where this is going yet but Im liking it. |

| The doctor still seems melancholy. Odd. He's successful, has girls fawning over him, his peers are envious of him and interns hold him in high regard. Perhaps Donnie Darko was right, some people are just born with tragedy in their blood. |

| Tenma got really lucky. Three people dead but the path to someone's bright future opened again. And that Eva has no shame at all, or maybe it's just her parasitic nature? To take Tenma for a fool is beyond cynic... Whatever, life goes on and all bad things remains in the past. Or maybe not. Btw, tt would be surprising if that 'monster' would be not a boy saved by Tenma. |
| One of the best things about Monster is that it takes a very slow pace and sets the mood and characters up really well. This episode is a great example of that. |

| Well now hospital people is going to feel it also Monster! About Episode: I knew someone was going to tell Tenma what happened yesterday night. But it couldn't been Tenma at least I don't believe so because he was so drunk. It has something to do with those twins. Funeral part was kind of sad I mean Tenma can still accept that Director's nature and it just describes well how he cared for him even though he was just a evil man. So 9-years timeskip didn't expected that and Rungus named investigator haha that hobby of his is kind of cool. Analyzing situation with shaking hand. Haha nice job Urasawa.So those candies were poisoned I see but were Director got those candies it's unsolved yet. But that investigator is wrong it's not Tenma and I still belive it's Johan. But what was that man escaping well don't know. Haha Tenma did right choice when Eva asked to start over with everything just walking way without saying anything haha :DD And those twins where are they now?? Yeah ED kind of getting creepy too. Nice Episode 5/5 |

| I'm really glad he turned Eva down, to me she just seemed like a money grabber, or someone after power. She got rid of him when he was demoted, but then minute he was promoted, she wanted him back. Yeah... Oh and I really loved the scene with the kite. :) |

| Monster... is coming... Shivers! Slow pace but great dialogues. And some sort of uneasiness also. I like this series already, it so realistic in comparison to other animes. |

| wow amazing episode :D yeah it really does cast you suspicion the moment the chairman and other doctors died and Tenma is suddenly became the chief out of nowhere. yeah the deaths of the doctors has something to do with the twins(they still haven't been found?!?!) shame but you deserve that Eva. and woah a 9 year gap O___O that feels soo far!! that Lunge guy is still in the case despite 9 years now!?!?! guess he won't stop till he solves everything. he kinda reminds me of Gouda from Ghost in the Shell SAC 2nd GiG!! even has a similar face. i'm curious what's this monster and how it kills it's victims silently and swiftly. interesting stuff!! can't wait for more episodes!!!! |
| I didn't feel this episode as well as the first two. The new character (the detective) looks really promising, but other than that... I guess the 9 year gap was a bit excessive and didn't seem to me like that amount of time had happened. Maybe because the characters look the same, except for the nurse lol. Other than that, Tenma is a very solid main character (that scene with Eva was really great. I still think that he felt something for her) and that alone keeps the interest on the stuff, which looks very promising with the "Monster is coming" cliffhanger. |

| Somehow I was expecting Tenma to be the spineless type. But we're in episode 3 and he's already proved himself strong. Quickest character development I remember seeing. Honestly, I wasn't expecting him take Eva back. But just seeing his reaction was just all the more satisfying. Eva's a GOO~L Digger. Also, nice suspenseful ending. Wonder what he meant by the Monster. |

| I feel like a dick but when Eva was crying at the funeral I just thought "and the pig snorts in fury when its trowel is no longer filled." But you know what? Her trying to get back with Tenma just furthers my point, I cheered when he pulled his hand back. Wow that second half of the episode took an unexpected turn. I thought Tenma would get pinned for the blame right away, but I'm starting to see how it's coming back for him with that detective. That ending was really eerie, just the build up of noises and the expression on Junkers' face. |

| I've heard this series is depressing, but the last episode and a half was so satisfying. I loved the death by candy thing because those three people were horrible. Best of all though was the rejection of his ex fiancée after she tried to con him into taking her back only because she'd heard of his promotion. |
