I know I'm 10 days late but whatever

Is anyone else super excited for Halloween? It's my most favorite holiday ever, even if it's not celebrated in Russia.

What I usually do during October:
- watch all Vincent Price movies
- watch Halloween (1978)
- watch Halloween (2007)
- watch the David S. Pumpkins skit
- watch all The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episodes
- listen to Rob Zombie and some gothic rock and Halloween OST

What about you? How do you get in the zone?

And if you have some Halloween stories - please share!

I'm good, I've already spent almost 3 weeks with Megumi Shimizu, but good luck to the rest of you thought.

Spooky season is always one of my favorites, even if I don't do anything special. It's the vibe, y'know? I also listen to Rob Zombie, glad to see he's still being appreciated. I used to watch movies like Ghostbusters, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, The Exorcist, etc., but not so much anymore. Maybe I'll have a marathon this year, who knows?

I used to love Ernest when I was a kid. Didn't know there was a Halloween movie with him - I'll check it asap. Thanks for the rec!

I love spooky season! Usually I watch a ton of horror movies, but I haven't really watched horror this year yet. Actually, I didn't do that last year either... I've been on too much of an anime binge for a while.

Last one I had on my PTW was Messiah of Evil so maybe I'll kick my ass and finally decide to watch at least one.

I came here for the spooky Halloween stories and there are none so far! We all spend too much time inside.

Halloween was fun for me when I was a kid, and I went trick or treating, but when I became an adult, my interest in Halloween disappeared, as it has no benefit for adults. The only thing I can look forward to, are the candy apples that my mother makes for Halloween. Other than that, I don't care for scary stuff, and I don't watch horror movies, as I find them disturbing.

Christmas, on the other hand, is still as fun for me now as it was when I was a kid. Despite living alone, I decorate my whole apartment in December.

If this isn't how you're spending this month, there's something wrong.

Can't say I'm excited since it's not celebrated over here, but usually I'd watch Halloween (1978) or Suspiria (1977). Also, my best song for the spooky season:

Halloween isn't really a thing here, it's close to All Saints' Day. Harvest festival too but I expect now thanks to corona most happenings for that are cancelled.

I visit my family graves, leave candles and tidy them if needed and at night maybe eat something better and drink. As for spooky stuff I've watched a horror movie per day, used to marathon horror movies during Halloween but real life made it hard in the past so now I'll try this instead.

Halloween is weird because I know it as Reformation Day.
I guess it's cool that people observe 'spooky' themes together and it's definitely a reason to rewatch all those classics.

I'll go for:
Frankenstein
The Bride of Frankenstein
Nosferatu
Suspiria
Babadook
and some classic Bela Lugosi in Dracula

also listening to Bauhaus, Joy Division, The Cure,
Pink turns Blue...

maybe read some Poe...

yeah I could get into this I think

Halloween is not celebrated in my country. But I've always liked the kind of horror. So for whom do you celebrate, what horror anime are you preparing to watch? I'm curious, plus I'd like to see more horror anime.

I loved Halloween so much when I was younger. I still went out trick and treating when I was 14. But people gave me weird looks.

Currently rewatching some Rob Zombie movies (Devils Rejects is my fav) but I also watch American Psycho and recently I watched a cheesy horror movie called Society , there's also the horror anime that are coming out now so yeah those are my main things to get into the spooky feels.

Its not officially celebrated here, but I really like it. On the 1st of November its All saints day so we visit the graveyard, so we cant stay up until ungodly hours. Me and my brother usually watch Monster house and Scooby Doo on Zombie island, bake cookies and watch the moon from the balcony/garden. Some night clubs have Halloween parties, kids can go trick-a-treating.

Btw a not so fun story, when I was 10 or so and went trick-a-treating with a few classmates (I was Ghostface, the 2 boys were a soldier and Frankenstein, the other girl was a butterfly), we got robbed by highschoolers. We got to this really creepy tunnel that was lit with only one flickering lamp and thats when they ambushed us, dressed up in bloody suits with chainsaws which scared the shit out of us. One of them even started to molest the butterfly girl but we threw rocks at them so it didnt go too far.

I'm not particularly fond of it, but as a a part of my mini bucket-list to read at least 50% of King's works, it has been a thing of mine to read one book of his every October and November (so that's two a year). Considering that I recently lost my job, and that I don't have high hopes of getting into one this year, I'd probably read more than the set goal next month.

Ah yes Halloween, the 2nd best holiday after Christmas of course.
I love the vibe Halloween gives off.
I love watching the little children in their costumes.

I love Halloween, its my favorite holiday too. I'm particularly proud of people this year, the people in my area are out rocking the decorations like I've never seen before, its definitely giving the world a more creepy atmosphere. One house I drive by often has a doll-like figure in-front of their house, but the way the light shines on the doll makes the shadow look huge, like a monster is in-front of the house. Its incredibly clever, I wish it wasn't weird to go up to random people's houses and compliment them on their decorations.
