| Well, mostly good shows but obviously also the sequel effect being in effect. For example, I like Souma a lot but I don't find the show particularly impressive so I'd not include it in any of my top lists. I mean I like and approve of most of the sequels on this list (I only miss Uchouten Kazoku, Hoozuki and Kekkai Sensen in terms of sequels that I'd include) but I find it more interesting to talk about top shows per year only in terms of non-sequels. Something like: Made in Abyss Yoru wa Mijikashi Arukeyo Otome ACCA Onihei Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou Houseki no Kuni Tsurezure Children Yoake Tsugeru Lu no Uta Little Witch Academia Mahoujin Guruguru Ballroom e Youkoso |

I didnt even watch Soma season 3 or 4 yet lmao, thanks for reminding i think i stopped on manga or something, thats why i didnt watch the anime yet |
Well Kemono Friends made it into my top 10 anime of all time, so i'd say that was easily the best anime of last year. |

Otherwise what's to discuss, really? ^^ And yeah it got pretty much ignored by the community, partly because it's episodic and people aren't a fan of episodic shows, but mostly because it was an amazon show so there were no HS rips while it aired which almost makes it invisible to seasonal watchers. |

| Without counting sequels or movies, for me would be Demi-chan wa Kataritai, Made in Abyss and Houseki no Kuni. Those are the only non-sequel/non-movie animes of 2017 I gave a score higher than a 7. You might count as well the first season of 3-gatsu no Lion, since its second cour aired in 2017 too. |

| Can't remember most of the shows right now but Youkoso Jitsuryoku, Rokudenashi Majutsu, Busou Shoujo, Tusrezure Children are some of the best shows of 2017 not including sequels an as for the sequels Owari 2 and Gintama 2017. |
