Monogatari Series: First Season
| I know this topic has been done countless of times but since Owarimongatari 2 has come out, and I heard it was the last anime of the series (if that's incorrect, please let me know). So, how do I watch it? Thanks! Mod Edit: Modified title for clarity and/or easier searching. |

Sure the safest thing to do would be just to watch the Kizu movies after Koyomi but watching them after Bake makes you appreciate Shinobu's character and her relationship with Araragi more as the series progresses. But that's just my preference, OP can follow the airing order if she wants. |

| If you want to see the exact timeline then 1. Kizu, 2. Neko,3. Bake, 4. Nise, 5. Mono, 6. Owari, 7. Tsuki, 8. Owari 2nd, 9. Hana ( Koyomimonogatari plays in all parts). Actually Mono and Owari first season are playing at the same time. But if you only want to enjoy the Monogatari Series you could also watch after the release order. |

Kizu novel comes directly after bakemonogatari and like @alfondx12 mentions if you watch kizu after bake you appreciate the relationship far more. The only reason it look so long to air kizu is because it was delayed by production AND the immense popularity of Madoka Magika. If madoka wasn't that populair and the production wasn't delayed kizu would've had a faster release and "that" would've beenn the right order according to most people. That is why I prefer the Light novel order over the anime order. Kizu could've been released between every story and the original was made to come after bakemonogatari. |

| You watch it in the order of release, like everything else, because that is how the writer constructed the story. It does not take a genius to understand that. |

If you can show me sources and scenes where it matters knowing Shinobu. The fcking thing was made to go after Bakemonogatari to tell you things about Shinobu. It wasn't made to wait 5 years to read the novel after Koyomimonogatari's novel was released. That means it doesn't matter when you watch it. A full anime adaptation based on Kizumonogatari was first announced on July 28, 2010, A movie adaptation was announced in late March 2011, where it is also stated to premiere in 2012 instead of 2017. That means it would've been released right after Bakemonogatari and before Nisemonogatari. |

| I'm a firm believer of two things: 1) Watch Hanamonogatari LAST. 2) Watch Kizumonogatari whenever you want, i think after Bakemonogatari it's just delightful. I came across this ancient wisdom thanks to a friend of mine, so i'm just here, sharing the prophecy. For the rest, just follow the airing order. And believe me about Hanamonogatari; like, it's crucial for the events of a certain character whose 'conclusion' is reached in there. |

| The answer is always the release order, you don't mess with the director's creative vision. They wanted you to watch it that way, so watch it that way, why would you decide to switch that? |

Yes, but it's clear a lot of new-comers have seen Monogatari based on it's popularity, I was more referring to people wishing to watch Monogatari rather than just new-comers to the medium in general. Araragi in Kizu is pretty cool; but he isn't the same as his new self. I saw a lot of people annoyed by his character after only viewing Kizu or Bake & Kizu ye same |
