Music totally doesn't fit the PV but this still looks pretty interesting

Didn't the Mongol invasion of Japan get thwarted by a storm when they tried to cross the sea historically though? Or am I misremembering things

Yeah the kamikaze saved Japan basically both the times.

Anyway this one looks decent, samurai stuff are always cool to watch.

That animation was just...wow, like absolutely stunning. Although yeah, as people above brought up, the music really did not fit what was happening. Either way though, this looks intense. I'm definitely waiting to see how this turns out. Hopefully, this might spell out some incentive to create another Kingdom anime in the future...cough* especially with this level of animation.

Ok.
That has to be one of the coolest things I have seen recently.
That music could actually still work with a less bass drop, depends on what the show decides to focus on, I think an upbeat song like that is fitting for a coming of age/making of story of a young warrior, certainly puts a different expectation for what type of show it might be and makes it feel a bit fresh.

What's with the music? It feels out of place. Everything else looks decent though.

But with those scenes & the colour palette, I do not think that fits at all. Maybe if they showed more of a happy scenes & less dark colour palette, then the music would fit.

Maybe you mean the art style. Because the animation is while pretty decent, it's nowhere near the level of fluidity that you'd see in other great scenes in anime. But the art style, yes, I would agree it looks real good.

Superficially speaking, yes, the storms helped a lot, but they did not destroy the entire mongol army, there were many battles, in the second invasion for example the Mongols managed to land more than 100,000 soldiers in Japan.

A curiosity about this war is that it was where the modern Katana was born, in the first invasion the Japanese had great difficulty in pierce the Mongol armor, so improvements were made.

The art style reminded me about Drifters.

And WTF with that EDM music, look like it was pulled out from a boring top 10 video.

Yeah I mean strictly the art style here. It's something that reminds me of Kingdom or Drifters, and while it's not nearly as fluid as animation in a lot of other modern works, it's still pretty decently done imo. Either way, this looks really cool.

I'm a sucker for historical anime, so I'm definitely checking this out when it airs.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

Looks like we are going to see Mongols die in a tornado.. Twice.

Interesting choice of music, did not expect that.

All aboard the hype train because this will be a really good historical anime.

Reminds me of Arslan and Ushio to Tora, seems like Mappa animation.
I like this a lot.
