Practically anything can be re-watched if you either really liked it, or don't remember what happens exactly, otherwise there's no reason to.

if you enjoyed it then it's rewatchable. I think movies are more watchable than series in my opinion
just change the thread on me why don't ya, haha. I'm not a fan of comedy, but yeah I think it would be less funny if you rewatched a comedy.

Just need to wait a few months then re-watch it. Otherwise Yes it will make it less funny.
dont't watch that anime if you are going to give it 1* and cry 10000 words in review about it.

It can happen, since by the time you rewatch it, you will know the majority, if not all, the jokes of the series.
For me, though, there are times when I can rewatch an scene and still get lot of laughs from it.

Not if the humour that you felt was genuine. You can always laugh at the same thing over and over again, but I guess the only way it would be less funny is if you go in thinking it will be. If you're going to re-watch a series just enjoy.

-if you re-watch it more than 3 times, probably will get old.

--second time re-watching tho, mostly will still be funny to you

Well I plan on rewatching Nichijou at some point as I have forgotten some of it. I love that anime so my mind needs refreshing.

For me it is based on some scenes.
A scene that made me laughed so hard or a scene that made me laughed a little before.

Probably the only comedy anime I'll always find hilarious no matter how many times I rewatch it.

wait no one has yet mentioned Gintama? might as well..

Gintama jokes will always be funny no matter how many times you'd see 'em
same with JoJo

It is short anime...Then I am in.
For me, a comedy that made me laughed so hard is Tokyo Godfathers. The comedy feels really natural there.

Almost everything is worse the second time around since you're "spoiled" on everything in advance. Comedy is nothing exclusive here

Forget about the show for like a year or something. Then the comedy and nostalgia will come back. Only anime that I can watch multiple times and lose my shit over is prison school.

Usually yes, but it also depends on your mood so you can find something to be funnier second time watching

I think they are still funny even if you finish the series. They are still funny because when your watching you know that jokes coming up right then which makes it even kinda funnier. It's kinda like when you read the manga first so you know what's going to happen then you see it animation and it just stays funny.

It depends on the show's quality. I've rewatched GTO and it's still funny as ever. No changes at all.

I remember watching it during HS days @ 11pm on Animax and was trying so damn hard to silence my laughter coz I didn't want my parents to walk on me at the living room lol.

I was nothing until the moment I met you.

with enough time between rewatches, you would have forgotten many episodes and details..
so i'd say no;
especially given the episodic nature of most comedy series, there's bound to be more gaps, unlike with more continuous stories

I am rewatching Konosuba with my brother and yeah the first season was not as funny as I remembered, but the second season is still great even though I watch that recently.

I mean rewatching anything can change your opinion. I remembered liking X-men Origin, only to see it again and say this isn't good.

To me, they're still as funny as the first time as long as I haven't watched/rewatched it recently. For example, I've rewatched Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun several times and it's been just as funny as the first time each time I've rewatched it, because it was a long time in between each rewatching.

It really depends on the viewer.

Generally speaking, yes because it's a joke you already see coming. Jokes that rely on unexpected, surprising events would be less funny. If it's a well executed joke, then there's a good chance it might be as funny. Referential humor might actually be funnier through a rewatch because you might not caught onto it the first time (watched less anime)

Another factor is when did you last watch it. Obviously if it's within a short-term range (ie < 1 year), it has a higher likelihood of being less funny than the first time.

It depends in what kind of comedy you are looking at. For example, this thread will make me laugh no matter how many times it has been done, so when it comes to anime, I think that is also the same. I rarely re-watch comedy series anyway, the most recent I remember would be OPM/Daily Lives of Highschool Boys.

it's same but you have to wait quite a long time(3 month is good) to watch it again. by doing this you will be enjoy anime as first time watching for sure.

Yes... Maybe... I think so..?
For me comedy is best when it still hot, like horror. Cuz if already know the joke, it seems a little bit less funny
Although Danshi koukousei jokes always funny no matter how many time i watch it

With any form of great comedy seeing or hearing the joke again doesn't make it less funny.

Yeah for me if I have re-watched it like, at least 4 times, it gets less and less funny from there. But if I leave it for a really long time and forget about it and then come back and re-watch it, it'll be funny all over again.

Just yesterday I re-watched the barber arc from Gintama for the seventh time and it really wasn't that funny anymore lol. I think watching something funny for the second time is when it's funniest.
