THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- This is the calm before the storm chapter, also it is the end of the arc and also the end of volume 22, and now a brand new arc will begin in the next chapter. They finally reach the ocean, never expected them to reach already, plus a 1 year time skip, Eren looks pretty cool with his longer here. Nothing interesting never really happen in this chapter, but we need chapters like these sometimes. |

Dam Flocke going in with the cold hard truth, poor Hitch getting to know Marlowe died :( I don't think I needed to see that brutal death image of Faye again. A timeskip huh and they reached the OCEAN! far earlier than I expected. I guess this is the final time to enjoy their happiness before going to war. Lol Levi "Don't touch it, it might be poisonous", Armin kinda looked like Uri Reiss in that one panel smiling back to Mikasa. Eren looks pretty cool with longer hair. Well this is the beginning of the end. |

Flocke was dropping truth bombs left and right but some unrelated people got sadly caught in the explosion; poor Hitch. I'm very happy they finally made it to the ocean, even though Marley not making a single move for like 9 months seems like a bit of a stretch (are they caught in a conflict with some other nation?). The real question now is what will Eren do? His freedom might come at a much greater price than what he initially believed, and the enemy is much more powerful and less defined than the titans. I want to see what he'll decide to do and how it'll affect his relationship with Armin and Mikasa. On a side-note, Eren looks fucking hot with longer hair. Can't wait to see that animated. sim0n2170 said: It was nasty as hell but I think the point was to illustrate that beyond the Walls freedom isn't necessarily what awaits Eren and co.I don't think I needed to see that brutal death image of Faye again. |

Even SnK has a beach chapter! Jokes aside, this was a nice buildup. Not too surprised they have a time skip for this. |

I feel so bad for that titan , yes , he's mindless but still.. He crawled as much as he could.. Them reaching the ocean probably means something huge is coming next up. But is there a way Wall People can even cross the ocean ? One thought is that Eren could control wall titans but I still think ocean should be deeper than those titans. And what's then ? They eliminate all Marleyans( if they actually succeed) and occupate their land ? And if Eldians are the only ones with Titan shifting abilities they might even conquer the whole Planet. This is getting interesting and depressing that this is going to end soon. Also I hope somewhere in the future we will get much of Ymir history explained. |

I liked the chapter, but I for sure didn't expect them to reach the ocean that early. I still wanted one or two surviving characters to get there, because I still think a tragic ending suits snk best, but with changing the main objective of the series from killing the titans to fighting against Marley, it makes more sense, although not really (in my opinion) aesthatically, when at least some people find a beach. But I nonetheless ask myself how they were able to play in the water this happily, after all they've been through. So yeah I liked it, and I'm already hyped for 91! P.S. There was't even a reaction to the whole Mikasa and Armin thing in 89 like wtf, didn't you miss out on something? |

Who was that woman that Eren saw in his visions? Royalty? His mother? The timeskioe was well handled here IMO. There's a sense of dread hanging around despite how relatively well things are going for them at the moment Eren looks cool with the hair. I was hoping Mikasa would have let it grown long too. |

A rare calm chapter before shit goes down again. I didn't think they'd reach the ocean now, I thought that moment would be saved for the final chapter or something. We also got a small timeskip too, can't wait to see what's about to happen next. |

Befote I go on a rant, I'd like to say how much I enjoyed the chapter and talk about the chapter. Initially, I was a bit surprised by the sudden time skip, but it was needed I just found that it was a little random to happen in the middle of a 42 page chapter. What was even more surprising was the Titan threat had been basically removed from the island over the course of one year. Though if you think about it, we have gone way passed the point to where mindless titans were an actual threat. We've been dealing with Titan shifters, the government, and survey corps just reclaimed wall Maria. So yeah they needed to get rid of regular titans and move on to greater things. Seeing the 104th along with Levi and Hange visiting the beach was cool. It was a nice peaceful chapter, which is what needed after all the drama and revelations that had taken place in the past 8 or so chapters. Eren looks dope with long hair and I'm happy my boy Armin got to see the ocean. Unfortunately they are still not free yet and Eren knows this. Okay rant time Fuck Flocke. I can't stand his character I truly have come to hate him after this chapter. I already disliked him during his introduction in chapter 70, and I grew to to dislike him even more in chapter 80 when he was cowering like a bitch. When he survived the beast titans rock throws instead of Marlowe I was even more upset. However, some of the stuff he said on the roof was true, though he was being hypocrite. I've noticed a lot of people like to praise him because they are pissed at Eren and Mikasa and I'm not even going to touch that subject since I believe most of those people are just salty about the plot not going in their favor. The truth is Flocke didn't want Erwin to be saved because he's the commander. Flocke just wanted his cowardly pathetic life to have meaning, that's all it is and it so sad no one in this fandom can see that. From the start he was a band wagon jumper, he joined the survey corps like a follower, once he saw his friends join up. In chapter 80 he is crying and panicking like a little bitch, and then when he finally makes himself useful he shits on the moment. Honestly though I hate this fucker, I respected him for bringing Erwin half dead body off the battlefield and into shinganshina district and even some of the shit he said was true, despite the fact that he was speaking up for all the wrong reasons. But he ruined it with how he behaved at this ceremony. It's one thing to have an opinion, but there's this thing called a time and a place. What he said was rude and inconsiderate to Hitch and Armin. Lastly I'll close this by saying his character is complete shit, the one good moment he had was all about selfishness. He knows he's a coward and he knows he lacks the skills and mental fortitude of the main cast, so he is bitter. You can tell with how he looked at Jean, Connie, and Sasha, that he was sad about being the only survivor from the recruits. Anyways,The only person who was sensible on the roof top was hangs. Okay, I'm done just needed to get that off my chest, but over all it was a good chapter. I just hope Flocke dies or leaves the survey corps because his character is beyond irritating. |

It was a good chapter, but I didn't like the loop thing and I dislike even more that titans aren't a threat anymore. At the end this looks like is going to end in a war between humans, but they are still like in sXIV-XV while Marley seems between WW1 and WW2. uzee said: did a year pass or did Eren see 1 year ahead after he finished with the memories of how his family entered the walls Technically it's less than a year. It says it's one year after the first battle of trost, when they lose the city, so 6-9 months since the start of this chapter. |

If it is whatever, I'm not going to engage. Everything I said about Flocke is true my friend, sorry if you're a fan of his. Armin maybe my favorite character, but that's doesn't make me your typical snk fan who is only looking out for his favorite characters best interests. I examine things from all angles, including an opposing perspective that goes against what I believe. For that reason, I can understand both sides of the roof top fiasco. Flocke really is just a cowardly bandwagon jumper and if he had an opinion about Erwin he should have kept his mouth shut. Hange also feels that Erwin should have lived, but she is behaving maturely and pressing forward. I ask where is the bias in my statement? Don't just judge me by my user name. |

This chapter was sooo good. I really enjoyed, I read some other shounems and my expectations to a weekly chapter is being "Ok... nothing important happens again". But in this manga the story and characters are really evolving, and the flow is engaging. Looking forward to the next arc. So much fun! He felt in need to show that Armin will forever carry the weight of being chosen, and that Survey Cops main characters are subject to mass criticism and hate/envy for taking decisions. I want to see how Eren matured the idea of taking the power from Historia. Would'nt be easier to tell her about what she is capable to do ? I'm also curious to know what happened to Annie and Zeke legion, why they showed no resistance against this titan cleaning outside the walls. I feel that Armin will save them time and time again soon, proving that the decision was the right one. |

I understand people might be turn off by the lack of action "filler" chapter and get disgusted by the inner circle quarrels, but that's the author style. He tries to illustrate the realistic aspects of what's on the minds of different people from within the wall. It's not belivable for everyone to be on board with Armin and the titan's history. Afterall, there are a lot ot skeptics and the heroes are not always right, |

Such chaos > Forced drama intensifies Well, it's time for the ceremony so move on, no point in resolving the drama now. > Maybe I wasn't the right choice. Think of the ocean, the ocean > Random incomplete flashback Can't reveal stuff now because muh foreshadowing and endless teasing. > All that focus on tactic and danger of fighting outside the walls in the first season Jk, getting out is like a walk in the park > Got to the ocean The end. |

Darklight0303 said: Lol he was saving them before he became a Titan shifter. Erwin himself spoke of how Armin was one of the corps deadliest weapons. This shifter ability isn't really a power up, it just makes him harder to kill. Armin isn't a fighter and the colossal Titan isn't a combat type for that matter. And besides I think Erwin would feel like shit knowing that the kid who successfully captured the colossal Titan wasn't rewarded for his bravery, while he the great commander, sacrifices another platoon of soldiers, this time an entire group of new recruits, in hopes of Levi capturing the beast Titan and the plan fails. I really wonder how Erwin would have felt if he was given the serum and he heard what Armin did. I bet he'd feel even worse than Armin, since he was reaching his mental limit. However you are correct, from a military standpoint Erwin was indeed the correct choice. But from a story stand point Armin was the correct choice. First off, Armin is the main character so of course he is more important. Secondly, Erwin's death was foreshadowed in uprising arc. All that stuff we learned about his father and his dreams of the basement made his character complete. We learned all we needed to know about Erwin Smith. Not only that but the mantle needed to be passed down,Erwin was far too fond of suicide missions and I think Hange will be different in that regard.NewDumal said: This chapter was sooo good. I wonder if they try to awake Annie and persuade her to join them...it would be great reinforcement |

I like it that the author cut to the chase, and we skipped to the ocean-scene, so we'll have less boring, "empty" chapters. Now we can start the (probably) last arc of the manga. What I find a bit sad, is that titans are not even a threat anymore. I began watching the anime (and reading the manga) for mostly the "survival" elements, that they are constantly in really great danger. Now in about 6-9 months they cleaned the entire island from titans, there might be only a very few titans left. Obviously the story became different, and of course the main threat became other human beings, it just seems sudden. Anyways, I wonder how they will handle this situation. Maybe they will start mass-producing those 3D maneuver guns they had fought against during the uprising-arc. Guns seem more logical than swords if they really want to fight that empire. It really looks like a ~1850 vs ~1930 war though. |

Didnt Eren's father eat Frieda and then eren eat his father, So dont that mean that Eren already have a royal blood in him??? Correct me if I misunderstood something, please? I have that same question now too. Why would Eren need to eat Historia (which he clearly won't) when his dad has already eaten royal flesh? |

Man, calm but melancholic chapter. They made it to the sea ;_;. Some of the reactions were hilarious though. Gotta mess Eren up a lot, seeing all those other memories. He looked so tired and worn doon. Feels weird now that the titans weren't such a big deal... |

Every chapters are excellent but this one OMG!!! They decide to let the people know about the whole thing! I didn't like Floch's attitude but he's not completely wrong since choosing Armin was based on Eren and Mikasa personal feelings. But I think it was the best choice (for me at least lol). Eren still doesn't want to kill Historia but what will they be doing against the Mare people? Guess we'll know it soon. But the most important thing: they are finally able to see the ocean!!!!! I cried while reading it! Sasha and Connie always there to do funny things, Levi warning Hange about how it can be poison lol, Mikasa smiling, Armin and Eren finally realizing their dream!! Although they still have to win the war to be truly free... I really enjoyed this chapter!! |

Isayama’s message in this month’s magazine is “Finally reach(ed) the scene that I have been thinking about drawing, and I share the same feeling with Armen.” "Armen" refer back to his blog http://blog.livedoor.jp/isayamahazime/archives/9483177.html Some english translations of it http://megumegufire.tumblr.com/post/157033115030 |
