Is there any correlations between this? I mean after taking some moral alignment test, I was being told that I'm Chaotic Neutral. And due to this, I usually dislikes something that's straight lawful, and prefer some anime that breaks the law in a way that most people often saw as a taboo.

For instance, I really liked Yosuga no Sora's last 3 episode. It made me pitied them and finally happy in the end. I like how this route explained about how incestuous love are regarded as taboo and how the character drama was handled.

On the other hand, despite knowing that it has a well-written story, I don't enjoy Legend of the Galactic Heroes as much. Yang Wen-li and some of the side characters might be a bit chaotic but most of the main casts stand within the lawful alignment and the world kinda feels less chaotic compared to other dystopic anime that I've saw (IYKWIM).

So what do you think guys, is there any relations between them?

Any alignment test, I'm just Neutral. Am I that fucking boring?

I don't see how this aligns to my taste. Maybe the part about me firmly sticking to my beliefs.

What you propose is a curious concept, although I am skeptical about the compartive analysis between two unintentially related analytical techniques... However, I kind of agree with FononZero about BurningZero's tastes. (No offense intended, I actually expected to tease Zero, but it's true... You seem just kinda neutral, which is weird.)

So, OP, take a gander at my list and see if you thing "Chatotic Good" is staring you back in the face. (I have never gotten anything but that.) It so I am very curious as to your reasoning. :-)

I'm sure with enough over speculation and projection bias, we can say yes.
I'm also filled with pure-hearted ulterior motives.

I do need to actually find a way to utilise my favourite anime list in a meaningful way, it's based off my rating system but it puts my most enjoyed anime far far out from it. I stand by my character list, FITE me.

And oh please, your entire list looks kinda boring XD Go watch some lighhearted comedy anime

I think so. Also your moral alignment can also help you "choose" your favorite characters.

I got True Neutral for my moral alignment which doesn't really say much. I don't really feel strongly towards or against anything.

Moral allignment isn´t necessarily bound to a certain action, but also bound to your reasoning for a specific action.
Chaotic Evil´s reasoning revolves around creating chaos, Lawful Good´s reasoning revolves around doing the good thing, that the law wants, Neutral revolves around doing something out of your own logic reasoning, so on, so forth.
If I would think about my favorites and the reason behind them, I think I´m either Neutral or Chaotic Good or at least something in that direction. I don´t bloody know, I never took one of those tests.

That's odd. I'm a strictly Moralist person. I plan on focusing on philosophy of ethics in university, but I love shows about messy, amoral characters who stray from the right path. I want to understand morality deeper, so I need immoral characters.

Ikr. When video games ask me if I will kill this person to acquire the demonic treasure, I'd just pick Yes for the sake of being edgy and of course to add another weapon to my inventory. In real life, however, I'd probably be faltered to even make a decision.

This has to be one of your best shitpost, mate. I'm pleased. Jokes aside, I wonder how tastes will be aligned in the D&D style.

P.S. Chaotic Evil would be rating Utsu Musume Sayuri a 10.

Morality is a purely social construct for the vast majority of people (about 80% never get past the conventional morality development stage), and while your taste can be influenced by external factors to some degree, what you perceive is still internalized and processed, and most importantly, absolutely free for you to "alter" on a personal level.

So the short answer is no, I don't think that there is a statistically significant correlation between taste and morality. *tips fedora*

wtf is moral alignment? People come up with yet another way to put labels on themselves that don't really have any meaning?

e: lol google tells me it's some D&D thing. Why is anybody taking this seriously as a valid generalization about a person?

This is stupid af...
I probably regret this post by now.

I didn't like the last episodes of YnS. Not because of incest, but Sora character itself. I loved the rest of the show tho.

"Based on your answers to the quiz, your character’s most likely alignment is Lawful Neutral.

A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs him. Order and organization are paramount to him. He may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or he may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government."

That's more or less how i think in real life ans sometimes its converted to what I think in my head when watching anime so I guess it has some validity for me. I still don't prefer police anime to like horror or psycho though ;]

In a sense, both can be correspondent to each other, however moderately. I'm a neutral good apparently but my favourite animes and mangas really doesn't speak so as I have a preference for quite brisk and exhilirating shows that explores unlawful themes (Shingeki no Bahumt, Acid town, Sakura gari, etc.) then they're cetain animes that balance out its morality with exhibiting both lawfulness and freedom (Little witch academia, Samurai Champloo and so forth)

A majority seek anime as a medium to undergo escapism, particularly when it goes against morality because many enjoy conceputalising going against the law and being as free as one could be. This doesn't only apply to anime as books and plays can be used in this form of entertainment.

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of alignment system because It tends to stick on a character or an entire fantasy race too much It didn't allow him to have changes . (Typical fantasy Orcs >< Warcraft Orcs for instance).

For me, I don't really know. I tend to be Lawful neutral in some tests but I'm Chaotic good in others. And in an other hand, I wish deeply to see an anime/manga with Monster-Guts-like protagonist beating the crap out of bishonen/lolis/neketsus/cute girls characters. Is that evil even It's just a beatdown?

Yosuga no Sora's final arc was best arc, no debate. In anime (and Game of Thrones) incest is wincest
