Very emotional stuff. I can't get over how fucked up this really is for the relationship with Suwa/their kid. I mean maybe you can look at it that both realities exist the one with Suwa and Naho and their kid and one with Kakeru and Naho, but still...

Aw crap my eyes are leaking again

^in fact, my take on the situation is kind of the opposite; I feel like naho in the world where she's older took suwa as a second choice because kakeru died.
Which makes me feel even worse for suwa but WHAT A BRO

I can't agree enough with everyone here. Wish I had a friend like Suwa! He is so freaking nice and acts where it counts.

As usual, Suwa saved the day!
He is just so capable and acts like how I would act in that situation.
Unlike Naho and Kakeru who are totally clueless.

It was good of the two of them to confront Kakeru like that.

Suwa might be one of the best third wheels of a love triangle in any shoujo anime I've ever watched. He'd BETTER wind up happy somehow.

Ugh, this episode just tugged at my heartstrings. D':

Suwa is the best character. I'm glad Naho finally confessed and that Ueda finally got put in her place.

Everything comes down to the fact that Kakeru didn't went to his mother on the first day. So the letters instructed them to not invite him after the opening ceremony and then immediately assumed they'll fail to do so?

Throughout the series, I wasn't sure what to think about the general love and care everyone have been giving Kakeru. I get that they're friends, but to some extent, it feels a bit orchestrated by these letters. The characters' future selves feel to be goading their past selves to think and act in specified ways, which somewhat plays into, for example, Naho's states of indecision. This episode really brought this to the forefront where I'm unsure if she really loves Kakeru, or if she's saying this to try and prevent him from committing suicide. I thought about this primarily from when Naho was reading her letters in the school hallway, where I wondered what might happen if Kakeru learned about the letters. Given the potential for drama, they might be called out for trying to manipulate Kakeru, even if that wasn't the intention. Hoping the anime doesn't come to this, but it does call into question if the divergences are truly to help Kakeru, or if they're to clear the surviving characters of their guilt.

...Huh. If anything, survivor's guilt really runs deep in this anime. If that was the intention, then perhaps the story really thought this whole scenario through.

My heart 😭This was so sweet and so sad. Poor kakeru :( His guilt is killing him and it seems he might have tried to kill myself even during this timeline. Suwa is such a great friend. He's quickly becoming my favorite character. He's trying so hard to save kakeru and make naho happy even though he knows he's losing his future wife and child. But he's still doing it. What a great guy. I hope he finds happiness.

Suwa's letter.
Suwa left the rest of his letter at home. lol
lol at Suwa's reaction about Kakeru's birthday. Now its all forced.
Dat flashback.
WTF! Rio appears again. smfh
Oh shit! Takako was about to end Rio. lol at Rio getting scared.
Future Suwa giving that bouquet to Naho.
Dat reveal. Straight from Suwa's mouth.
lol at Suwa's present.
Dat letter. Kakeru tried to seppuku in his bedroom. A towel? You weren't even trying, Kakeru.
Dat flashback. Dat text.
lol at Kakeru hiding his suicide attempt by mentioning Superman.
Dat hug. No homo, right?

All you people saying that Suwa is going to lose his future kid from existing do realize what sperm is and where it comes from, right?

Fuck!

What a great episode, they really handle the situation pretty well especially Suwa. What a great character hes so real and not selfish hes ready to sacrifice his own future for Naho and Kakeru.

Without ma boi Suwa, Naho will most likely fail in saving Kakeru.

After this anime, what matter is the ending
Suwa is the real mvp here not Naho.

Suwa is incredible. Incredible. He is the star of this show.

Deeply moving scene there at the end with him, Kakeru and Naho.

I wonder, with Takako and Azusa outside the room, if they both received letters as well (and Hagita, too).

That was so sad......when the “past” paralleled with the present & Kakeru gave Naho the flowers that Suwa gave him VS when they didn’t manage to celebrate his birthday & Suwa gave her the flowers only then. That was so sad. And the end with Suwa’s hug. Omg. That was so unsettling when Kakeru was mentioning about jumping. This all hits so close to home. I hope they will be able to save him ㅠㅡㅠ

Suwa’s letter was so emotional too. What a guy. He’s willing to sacrifice what he and Naho have to save his friend. I really hope this story will have some sort of good ending, for all of them. Some decent closure.

So I'm guessing the part of Suwa's letter he hid was about his future marriage and child with Naho. He's too nice for his own good. I'm glad Ueda finally got told off...she was pure drama.

When Kakeru said he did think about suicide, I was thinking that Naho will hug him.. and them Hiroto hugs him instead... I WAS LIKE WTF?! :D Doesn't matter what she said later it was too late.
Naho is officially the dumbest heroine from all anime, doesn't matter she is cute, there are many cute ones.

I hate it when anime/manga that I enjoyed ends, especially when there could be much longer plot and when I love main heroine :P

The feels this episode o(╥﹏╥)o

Seriously Suwa best bro. Everyone needs a bro like Suwa in their life.

That laughing thing was so fucked up man. Never laught at someone who says they want to die, you never know who's joking and who isn't. You might not know how to reply to someone who says they want to die so say anything but don't ever disregard their feelings and laugh at them.

I think it is safe to say that the suicide is prevented, right? RIGHT?

6/5 episode. Looking forward to next one.

Ending was spectacular, The constant motifs of trying to live without regret and making the most of your current situation is refreshing. Additionally, the not-so-subtle "moral" to look out for your friends and the glimpse into suicidal depression humanizes the anime beautifully.

That last scene has stuck with me since I first saw this several years ago. It really humbled me and helped me to be more sensitive towards off-hand comments about suicide & self-harm. Kakeru admitting that he's been struggling with his regret every day really cut deep this time around as this story is hitting much closer to home than it would have back when I first saw it.

Suwa is really the man of the hour. What Naho was unable to say, he first said it, and this made Naho say what she really feels.
