Oh My GOSH. I never expected Trigger to make an anime series of this. I watched both movies and they were fantastic! I hope Trigger does well on this project. I love Trigger.

This was such an unexpected announcement. I decided to watch the movies in preparation, and they were both very good - fun, quirky and admirably creative. However, I wanted to get to know more about all the characters, so I'm really excited for this series. Hopefully, it lives up!

Except Trigger is terrible at making anime. They can certainly draw (and I LOVE their art style), but every other aspect is terrible.

We need more anime like Gurren Lagann, not some loli shit, but I still will watch this.

I only watched the two Little Witch Academia movies and while the first one was okay, the second one wasn't very good but the first one seems to be better than most of the modern crap I watch.

I'm excited, but I feel apprehensive in regards to approaching this one once it hits television. What made LWA the marvel that it was is how they infused so much content in such a short amount of time for both films. Brevity was Trigger's greatest asset with those films.

I would like to see more of LWA, of course, but to see the world now stretched out across what will probably be a feature-length TV production piques my qualms about whether it will be interesting for its entirety. I feel a sense of dread, but nothing from Trigger that I have seen has upset me, so such prospects won't eat away at my optimism for this time.

Looking forward to it.
Why do people have such bad taste? Anime isn't subjective anymore.

LWA is the ONLY thing Trigger has done that I cared any about.

All their other works I either wasn't interested from get-go or dropped them because they were terrible.

I kind of figure Trigger will ruin everything that I did enjoy about LWA with the tv series...

You don't need to watch the first two movies. They'll probably write new stuff for the series, I don't think they're that lazy.

I have faith in them that they'll make something original, at least I hope they'll making something as exciting as the first movie.

No one can be sure at this point, but it shouldn't matter. The two movies together last a bit more than an hour. You have ample time to watch them.

LWA worked because it was a short charming film(s). Unless they can come up with an intriguing narrative on a bigger scale than an episodic slice of life, which I don't think they will, this will be a big disappointment.

The question is why not watch the movies when they're great and the TV series might not be?

Considering that Trigger isn't that popular in Japan itself (at least KLK seemed to do well enough), I doubt they'll save anything. Not even my faith in them, I feared. Luluco was the only thing I really watched by them and it was pretty boring. Which is actually kind of impressive in such a series. Weird and over-the-top shows are never boring, no matter how bad they get. they're interesting just by their weirdness alone. Yet, Luluco manage to be really damn weird and boring at the same time, which shows a special kind of incompetence.

Still, I'm glad that this doesn't seem to reflect Trigger's overall output.
