THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Not much to speak about here. It was basically all recycled from the OVA. I wonder, when will they start to add in new content?

Although, it was pretty nice to see some zeek scum get wrecked by the glorious Earth Federation Forces once again.

Yep, noticed there was no new content. So far an OVA recommendation remains unchanged. New ED I guess.. and wow OP! I'm surprised someone here also prefers feddies over zeon.

Considering where this episode ended, it looks like it'll be 3 episodes per OVA, probably 4 or 5 to cover OVA 7.

We're probably looking at 22-23 episodes in total.

Might as well go for the OVAs right now, trust me, they are more than worth it.

It's really hard to recommend this over the OVAs considering the, frankly, mind-numbing amount of spoilers contained within the OP

It clearly is not intended to be watched first when it FUCKING SHOWS THE GARENCIERES GETTING BLOW THE FUCK UP

Who the shit thought that was a good idea

Pretty sure that it's already been announced that this is going to be 25 episodes.

The question is whether they're going to employ Attack on Titan-style 5 minute recaps of the previous episode to pad the length, or if they're actually going to bother fleshing it out with new content.

The fact that they led this episode with a 45 second recap of the first ep would seem to indicate they chose the former route.

@SakurasouBusters

I'd recommend just watching the OVA series. It's better-paced than this has been, looks the same or slightly better overall, sounds better (5.1 > Stereo) and it even has a different (full length) ED song for every episode - all of which are good, and some of which are integrated very well with the episode itself. Episode 3's in particular.

If anything, I'd watch the OVA series first and then, if you're still interested, come back to the TV airing to see if they added anything new.

@fst

The OP/ED of this are a fucking tragedy. It's like they hired some random AMV creator to make them, what with all of the filters, sped-up footage, and spoilers.

Aren't you the one giving people the context of various scenes from the opening? They could just think those are random scenes, but then they read your spoiler and know what will happen. Not that many people analyze opening scenes tbh.

thats an odd number of episodes, i think it will be 24-25 episodes in total then, so we might expect 2-3 episodes with entirely new content

2 episodes of recap is more probable.

While I like the song I have to agree here.

All of the OVAs except for #7 are under 60 minutes long, and when you remove the EDs most of the episodes are 50-55 minutes long, with some being even shorter, so there isn't enough content to get 3 episodes per OVA. There's 15 minutes of content left in the first OVA that hasn't been aired with RE:0096 so either we get some new footage, it stretches into OVA 2, or they have a really long recap in the next episode.

That pilot reminded me of Daryl Lorenz. Londo Bell just cut off his music like that, really brought about his views. ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„

Where can I legally watch the ovas cus everyone says the quality is the same or better but if u use illegal sites the quality doesn't compare to the tv crunchy roll stream. Also quick question have these last 2 episodes been the ovas cut and put into tv format basically episodes 1 and 2 are ova 1 with some 15 min still left to cover? If so have any of the scenes been rearranged or is literally the ova broken down into 2 or 3 episodes scene for scene except for music just like last ghost in the shell?

Daisuki.net. Every saturday evening, they post both the dubbed and subbed versions of the episode.
And yeah, up until now, nothing really new. Pretty much all recycled footage from the OVAs. I guess there's the OP and the ED, but the OP was shit and the ED was okay, i guess (these are, of course, only my opinions). So far, i really wouldn't recommend it over the OVAs.

If you're new to Unicorn don't watch the previews lol.

But anyways I hope people actually paid attention to Cardeas explanation of Newtype and where the idea originated from....

Episode that is characterized by a narration in which over the action, there is a certain dose of dialogs and monologues long enough. Fortunately in the second phase the two components are mixed and there is the risk of getting bored. There is nothing new in history, such as content, but it is the same engaging the anime series.

So, the Sleeves are remnants of Neo-Zeon remnants.
I guess symbols don't die easily: I am wondering who's this new Char.

The poster of "The Runaway Princess" definitely explained this "mysterious" young lady from Neon-Zeon's likeness to Dozle's daughter. I hope it is really her this time, and if this is the case, I am glad to have her as a returning character.

This (cyber?)Newtype with her cap looks familiar to me, no idea why.

4/5 No idea where this is going with its potentially revolutionnary secret file.

edit: looks like it is really Mineva. Great!
