That was absolutely glorious

Loving the Satoru x Kayo interaction; they're really cute together.

2016 going off to an amazing start thanks to this anime.

This episode felt like 5 mins, that's how enjoyable the episode was

Can't say anything much about this anime, since most things are still concealed.

Satoru blushed because of an elementary schooler girl, don't know whether it could be considered lolicon or not lol

This show is good... amazingly good. I haven't been this glued to the screen since NGNL. Really, I just don't have the words to describe it. Looking forward to next week.

And damn, that abuse scene was kind of disturbing. The way the mother kicked her, and the way a ten year-old girl was curled into a ball taking the hits... wasn't easy to watch.

Kenya's red eyes may as well be a tease at this point. Episode 1 had a lot of emphasis on red: the mailbox, the killer's eyes, Hinazuki's clothes(the only thing colored in his memory). Naturally, people would look for red in the second episode. They only show up as red for a second, so it's obviously deliberate. I want to say Kenya isn't the killer though, since it would be pointless to reveal something so important so early in the series. Alas, I will work under the assumption that he is ultimately the killer, or at least knows something very important.

Holy crap.

I thought the first episode was good, but this one just got me hooked. What's amazing to me is just the overall atmosphere and ambience of the whole thing so far. It's creepy, tragic, nostalgic, and hopeful all at the same time.

Very interested to see how Kenya and the freaky airplane dude fit into this. I'm trying so hard not to break and read the manga.

Side note: Really hoping there's a good ending for Kayo. Otherwise I might end up drop kicking my laptop. The abuse scene was awful to watch.

I really like the dark and mysterious ambience of the show. The ED is pretty awesome its kinda similar to the ED of Black Butler by Kalafina. The revival kinda doesnt make sense though. It was shown that the revival activates before something bad happens but Satorou was sent to the past when his mother was already killed.

That's because Revival only happens if something bad happens around him, not necessarily someone important to him. At the time of her death, he was at work. We've only been shown a "natural" Revival once, and we didn't even see whether the truck had time to hit the kid or not. It could be Revival happens after a tragedy becomes inevitable; ie just before it hits the kid. The Revival was probably triggered not specifically for his mother, but for himself since he was about to be taken into custody. The only way to prevent this was to prevent the mother's death, and it seems the only way to permanently prevent the mother's death (be it sooner or later) is to catch the criminal(s), I'd say.

This is just so good. I love every moment, and every second of the anime. The quality, animation, surrounding was too good.

Also, I love the touching piss reference in the bathroom and the fact that satoru got shy touching an elementary school girl's hand.

It got that warm fuzzy feeling, inside a tunnel kinda feel. Like in the darkness, yet also bright at the same time.
(Okay, my analogy sucks big time lol XD)

Thanks to vanitystar for making it

Wow, this show really is amazing. Although the art is not spectacularly magnificent, it is still pretty high quality. The changes between the slice of lice scenes and the goddamn serious scenes transition so well partly because of the music too. I'm so hyped for this anime every week. Gotta restraint myself from reading the manga...

Today when I woke up, it just hit me, because of the first episode. It just made so much sense, so it hit me. Really strange sensation.

Now, I have not read the manga myself either and so I don't know the truth, but if you're new to this whole series and don't even want any ideas of what might be going on, then don't read the below spoiler box.

Theory/thoughts for who the culprit might be from non-manga reader

Also I'm gonna be wary about reading any replies to this post (if there are any). Because people tend to not be good at being subtle when they talk around spoilers they already know. I don't want implications of what may or may not be true.

I am not a fan of any supernatural in a mystery, so this is probably not my best genre to be watching. Still, it is well done, and it deserves credit for that.

But we know after 2 episodes that Kayo is going to get killed again, probably requiring another time slip, with the pattern repeating (and other friends being killed) until he figures out the mystery. God, I hope not: that would just be painful to watch. Not much into snuff films, having us like a character, particularly a child (even more particularly a girl since it happens too much in Japanese animation for all the wrong reasons), and then killing them off is not for me entertainment. Because in the vast majority of cases, it smacks too much of emotional exploitation and a cheap plot device, rather than being a good mystery.

Again hope not, haven't read the original, so this could be something fantastic, but right now it is giving off all those vibes.

Really enjoying this series so far :)

Wasn't as intense as the first episode but I'm glad its like that - we need sometime to breathe, it sets the pacing for the other episodes. It still felt quite eerie though.

I dont think Kenya is the same person as the kidnapper. He's a kid. I believe the eye colour is just a coincidence.

Looking forward to seeing what future eps hold

OT: So this time Fujinoma going to save Kayo this time and his mother. The way Kenya acts is very similar to Fujinoma? He isn't like his other friends. Could he be related to his mother's and Kayo's death? Hope to find out.

Detective conan does come into the mind when the 10 year-old Satoru, with the mind of his 29 year-old self, attended a class filled with kids at the beginning. It was pretty cool how the screen size decreased in width when the time concerned was Satoru's past. The imagery in the ending song reminded me of Shin Sekai Yori's.

Overall a pretty good episode.

I'm just imagining things.. Right?

i'm probably just being paranoid

From the first interactions between Satoru and Kenya I was constantly looking at his eyes. They seem to resemble the killer's,albeit less red (that can be just a lighting thing though). Also, the killer looks pretty young. If he was an adult back in 1988,he would look much older now.Anyway,Kenya has a strange feel that is evident from the first moment we're introduced to him.Definitely not as caring as he makes himself out to be.

Also, another thing that came to mind pretty early,is that it's entirely possible for other people to have this "revival" too.In fact,I would be surprised if no one else did.I would go so far as to assume that even changing bodies is possible (under certain circumstances of course).

As for the episode and the show in general,I don't know,I haven't read the manga but so far I can't find a single thing to complain about.Atmosphere, pacing, writing, direction, everything seems so perfect.
