| Eating Gods. Apocalypse too. Kinda bland MC. We're screwed. Ep 1. Plot: Apocalypse world inhabited by creatures called Aragami. Newbie chara named Lenka Utsugi wants to kill them for killing his home. But he's not that good yet. Only managed to kill one at the end of the ep. Kids got some ways to go. Character: Ho boy is Lenka bland. He's got the urge and drive to kill the Aragami and nothing else. Oh he's reckless considering he didn't even complete his training/kill one Aragami yet but that's not much. THough him not having an actual blade most likely explained why he never finished the training but his easy looking loss in the Wall fight proves he really is a rookie. Having played the games and like other posters have stated, Lenka is the customizable protag you play as which makes him a blank slate. Hopefully the show expands or does something with him. Toka has a bit of his goofy but friendly personality. Tsubaki has a toned down dress but still is a hardass as she was in the game...actually you don't really interact with her in the game (afaik) so up in the air. The commander and the head scientist were in character so that's good. The biggest draw was 1st team aka Lindow, Sakuya, and Soma. That Big damned heroes was the highlight of a otherwise bit boring first ep. Animation/sound: The God Eater world did a decent job of world building and showing how it is affecting the people in it. That part when the wall was destroyed and Lenka asking about reinforcements but learning there are none and how those 2 guys who went back out into the field despite their still bleeding bruises helped set up that this is a dire straits type world and they do not have alot of man power. The Aragami CG was decent enough. They looked like hideous monsters and that was fine. For the characters...meh. Though that part where it slows down and has that bass beat can be annoying. It was in the music OP for the game so it wasn't as bad there. The change from the blade to Gun on the New-type was neat though. Conclusion: 3/5. Okay start to an admittedly fun game. Let's hope it does something good. Especially the MC. |

Not going to bash it yet will like to see where it goes from here. |

| I read the reviews and didn't expect much, but holy crap... The directors have no idea how to build up suspense and the soundtrack was pretty much non-existent or simply played at the wrong times.. |
| I like the artstyle, the visuals are crisp, I like the music, the CG monsters aren't too bad and the animation is good. But boy if it didn't look like a poor man's Attack on Titan: Sie sind das God und wir sind die Eater, or some shit. Hell, at the very least try NOT to have your MC look and sound so much like Eren Jeager, dammit. Lenka is like a copycat of him but without none of the anger management issues, which makes him painfully unentertaining to watch. I'll stick around I guess, to see where this is going. |

| That was okay I guess. The animations are fine, but the art style, especially the shadows, feel weird. The BGM is nice. The main character really does feel like Eren from SnK. Also, slow-motion scenes everywhere XD 3/5 |

| An apocalyptic storyline from the result of a new energy resource. Pretty basic but at least it's not messy. Lenka is lucky and experienced to have survived the hellhole the world is currently in without the means to do anything about it, but he can't possibly be the only one I hope... I could feel the emotion despite the lack of music when Lenka learned there was no one else to send to cover the other area, +1. Interesting art style, but holy shit I loved it when the BGM kicked in when Lenka went out to fight the Aragami (actually wish it was the OP theme instead....) I held my breath at that moment "Oh my god, are they really... OMG THEY ARE DOING IT *freaks outs* " Personally expecting great action from this. |

| Hmmm, it was...an ok episode. I didn't like how we were just thrown into the story like that. You can't relate to any character, but I still enjoyed the visuals. Also, I feel that some of the soundtrack did not fit (for example when the mc is running from the favourite go help) and sometimes they didn't even have music in the background which made it for a lacking experience. You don't appreciate background music until you notice it's not there to help set the mood. Regardless, I still enjoyed it, hopefully there's some fan service heeh |

| Not even 4 minutes into this and the artstyle makes my eyes hurt already. It's not even the fact that it's CG, it's this weird as fuck glow effect. What's the point of protective walls when at least one type of Aragami can fly? Anyway, decent first episode. |

| Pretty decent first episode, the CGI is acceptable, but it does require me getting used to it! That said, the pacing could be slightly better, but in general it was a good start! |

| hehehe goddamn. I feel like an idiot grinning from ear to ear the whole episode. Finally one of my most favorite game in psp is here. And I must say, Sakuya and Tsubaki were looking so damn fine and Lindow and Soma are badass as ever. And those Aragami too! hehe one of these days I'm gonna find my psp wherever it is and play this game just for the heck of it. Also I'm not sure about this whole show being cgi but whatever. I have a positive feeling that I'm gonna enjoy this. Also nice choice of OST. Really gets the blood pumping during those action scenes. Seriously I was so hyped when this show was announced and when it started airing I decided to wait until it's finished. But somehow I forgot about it. But now I'm here and I can marathon this. yay! |

A show this dumb doesn't deserve any thought process but you make some interesting points that make this stupid show that more funny in retrospect lol Kinda make me want to revisit it and see what else went unanswered. |

| Pretty cool first episode. I've been wanting some quality action for a while and this delivered. Quirky use of CGI, in my opinion. Not exactly great overall though but it's not bad so far. Opening is your typical hard rock which I happen to be not the greatest fan of but I suppose it fits the show. Curious to see how Lenka progresses and the world-building in future episodes. Consider me in for this ride! |

| Very interesting. I can definitely see why Code Vein and God Eater had a collab with the similarities. But damn that soundtrack is great. I cant wait for them to play those tracks during critical moments. Its very Devil May Cry like. |

| Wow I must say that the art style put me off a little bit It's CGI but they draw over with their hands. Anyway, what an amazing first episode Lenka, our maincharacter is just like every other shounen MC, he's still interesting. But his character design is kinda bland. Amamiya has some massive racks lol and those angles xD The soundtrack is A M A Z I N G! The visuals are beautiful, top tier stuff for sure. Animation is also really good. As expected from ufotable. The 1st unit, Souma reminded me of someone and YES if you know you know. Zapp from Kekkai Sensen and their character design looks so similar and they have the same voice actors xD |

| Very dull first episode for an action anime. You can really tell it's a game adaptation even without looking it's source. Directing is weak, and the sountrack wasn't fitting in some scenes imo. And what's with that overused dramatic slow motion flashing effect thing? It felt like they just learned how to use it or something. Is this episode the director's first work? I fully agree with one of the comments that talked about the bad worldbuilding, the characters look silly. But that's the case with most anime anyway. 6/10 for this episode, let's see if the next episodes are better. |
| Wasn't bad but didn't really stand out imo. Not sure if I'm feeling the art style. The monsters are interesting so I think I'm going to watch a couple more. It gives me Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Attack on Titan vibes. |
