| So basically, Diamante is Steven Tyler...with the power to turn into...a flag? Umm, I guess that is...original. I kind of feel like the animation is also getting poorer with each progressive episode; Diamante's entrance looked like it must have been envisioned to be much better. Also, Luffy busting the Tower gate down was classic OP. Seeing my boy Doflamingo get mad is one of my favorite moments in this arc because of his cool veins. Whenever Luffy says Mingo, I always think about Barkevious Mingo, which is a little annoying. Ok episode, I guess. |

| Was kind of slow, but I think it worked well for this episode considering the full introduction of Diamante, the beginning of the final tournament battle, etc. I like Diamante, kind of a goofy rock star which fits well with Doflamingo and his pink feather boa. "Can I take this off?" "Do whatever you like!" Hehe. Liked the episode and can't wait for more, looking forward to Sabo going all out. I'm expecting Rebecca to win, though, they've focused so much time on her in past episodes. |

| I can feel the One Piece episodes slowly becoming better, dare I say they might even be back to their best in a few weeks, the pacing is still slow but they are definitely improving over the start of the arc which was horrible. |

| The final round has begun. Lucy the mysterious fan favorite and Burgess entered to cheers, the latter as the “captain of the first ship of emperor Blackbeard’s group”, quite the title. And Bartolomeo and Rebecca as the fan hated duo entered to some dismay. Diamante entered playing air guitar and making a show out of it suggesting he’s very much of the same mentality that this is supposed to be entertainment before all else. He also kinda looks like a horse to me with the mane and the huge mouth, but I must compliment him because as much as is going on with his design, it meshes pretty well! Rebecca showed more suspicion with Sabo, whereas Sabo played it silent and serious as if to not give away who he actually is and Doflamingo and Burgess appeared to be tricked by him. With the help of some jobbers, Diamante showed us that his power is just as weird as most of these executives, he can turn anything into a flag, person or thing, and then harden it after reorganizing it. It kinda reminds me of Luffy’s power, a power that isn’t obvious in its use but has many strategizes you could create with it. The final round is as follows, a free for all with savage flying fighting fish that will attack anyone in the arena. One of which, the “01” fish, has the devil fruit attached to its back. Whoever is left standing to get that fruit in the end is the winner. So ultimately this almost never derived into the 1v1 tournament arc I anticipated, the only time it did thus far was kind of when Luffy fought Chinjao. During the start of this round we saw the strength of having somebody with a more orthodox rational head like Sabo playing because he was the first to make a strategy and act on it. He is luring out the fish to reveal the fruit as soon as possible. That said, perhaps Luffy could just conqueror's haki and knock the fish out to find it easily. While this was going on there was chaos but importantly there was talk about the contestants and the arena both being tools that are used to make the most entertainment possible. It’s a reminder that we don’t know what Diamante has in store for us. There’s a part of me that thinks the Don Quixote family would want to keep up appearances and therefore the fruit couldn’t be a dud. But, I do anticipate some tricks going forward. To state the obvious, Diamante and Bartolomeo, not that the latter would, can’t eat the fruit here and now without dying as far as we know. Burgess, Sabo and Rebecca all seem powerless and therefore capable of such. That said, Burgess should be getting the fruit for Blackbeard to our knowledge so he may be off the table for receiving and immediately eating it as well. In a sense the only two that could likely become a flare flare human in this match are Rebecca and Sabo. That is, assuming a contestant gets it! The episode ended with chaos in the tower preceding the palace. Whereas there was a secret passage leading directly to the palace, Luffy seemed to have a misunderstanding and destroyed the door to get it open. I was a little mad at him for that, Doflamingo ended up proving that he had no clue what was going on when we saw his response of anger and confusion, but what can you do? That’s who Luffy is and it made for a fun little montage of everyone freaking out over Mugiwara no Luffy and Pirate Hunter Zoro tearing through the base. A part of me wanted to see Doflamingo’s shock when Luffy broke into his room and he believed that Luffy was in the still in the colosseum but this is going to be far more chaotic. Prior to this Viola mentioned that the executives would come out and stop them if they were caught and specifically if Pica finds them then they’re really stuck. Then we proceeded to see Gladius and Baby 5 likely in the palace which confirmed my theory that those executives we lack the location of are probably here to kick some Straw Hat butt. |
