Like Alita I'm not really sure if the final part of the battle was real or not. But, anywyay, it was a cool fight. More importantly, we have learned what may be her real name.. Yoko.

Jashugan was beyond epic. The first part of the chapter where he was just annihilating everyone, and when he cut Zafal in half... just amazing. The panel placement and the amount Kishiro chose to display; it read in slow motion, at least to me. And then when Jashugan rose from the flames... whew. Really brilliant stuff, can't praise this chapter enough.

Was rooting for Jashugan the entire time, not merely to beat Alita, but he seemed like a really genuine decent human in the midst of everything that happens in the scrapyard.

Pulling off the ultimate technique as his last action, truly the champion.

Hoping Shumira and Umba will join the gang, imagine the uses Ido would have for Umbas' arms.

This whole Motorball arc has been amazing. Really awesome characters and tons of great moments. Really looking forward to seeing where Alita goes next though I'll definitely miss these motorball characters if they end up falling to the wayside.

I've lived this arc. Great characters, specially Jashugan, the Champ.

I must say I prefer Alita to Yoko.

Nobody mentions Tiger, I quite liked this desperate sportman, who died after supporting Gally and fighting his idole.

4/5 Jashugan raising above mere cyborgs in his final moment was very well rendered.

I must say I prefer Alita to Yoko.

We have learned what may be her real name.. Yoko.

At least Yoko comes from somewhere. I still don't understand what the word Alita had to be chosen as Gally's US name (it doesn't even sound americanized).

Jashugan tore through Alita's team like it was nothing.

What a great chapter and final win for the champ, Jasugun. He tore through Alita's team effortlessly. I like how he even used part of the chainsaw guy to cut through Zafal. That was brilliant. I really enjoyed the angles utilized in this chapter. The mangaka did a wonderful job using perspective to really give this chapter another dimension.
Alita goes toe to toe with Jasugun, but he sends her flying pretty hard. As she gets up, she has a moment of clarity, so to speak, and sees a past memory of herself in a wasteland speaking with her master. He commends her for completing his training. He calls her Yoko, but Alita tries to say that's not her name before coming back to reality. She faces off against Jasugun again and this time she's able to cut off half of his mask. He ends up tossing the Motorball aside since it doesn't even matter at this point. All that matters is whoever is left standing. They keep going at it until Jasugun starts losing his vision, so he amps up his aggression and slams Alita down hard. He's about to finish her, but Tiegel comes out of nowhere and tackles him against the wall before Jasugun destroys him. Alita hits him with a barrage of punches and sends him flying into the fire. Jasugun is losing himself, his body, but remembers his sister and uses his last bit of life to regain his senses and punch Alita in the stomach so hard that she passes out. I don't think Jasugun actually had his body change, it seemed more like the mangaka was showing he gained his feeling of a body back and was able to use his last bit of power to win.

I loved this chapter! I felt bad for the champ towards the final scenes in that Alita's team kind of cheated the win. (Tiegel was out of the game and rammed him). It's crazy how whilst going blind from brain degeneration and getting side smashed in an illegal move he still wrecked Alita. He basically was about to deliver the final blow before our heroine was saved. What a climactic finish, even if it wasn't a fair fight!

Amazing chapter. From what I understand, Alita destroyed the motor in Jasugan's heart, and he used the remaining bit of life he had to try and win against Alita, for Ido's and Shimura's sake. But just before he could actually kill her, he froze as his body wasn't able to produce energy anymore (I'm sure that's why he froze). But i don't understand what Alita meant by "illusion", was she refering to her memories about 'Meister'? or was it about her fight with Jasugan? I'm not sure.

Atleast we now know that her real name might be Yoko.

Anyways, this chapter had some amazing panelling, the mangaka is a great artist.

5/5

Dang! This has consistently had some of the best art I've ever seen in the medium with such insane detail on the mechanical bodies getting wrecked. Really hope Shumira isn't going to be depressed for the rest of it though.
