It must have to do with the weapon he used in the fight against Pitou. I suspect his ability isn't really random, but actually gives a weapon fit for the situation he's in. So in the case of his last fight, the weapon he was given appeared to be some wand, but it looked like those magical wands we see in magical girl shows and such. So I believe that his ability acknowledged that there was no chance of victory, and gave him something that'd actually provide him rebirth. It's either this or that only his insides were eaten... |

I want Colt to return too :3 and it's nice to have Brovada added to the village as well. lol Netero's video message is just like him. Simple, easygoing, and straight to the point. |

| Okay I did not expect to see Kite back in that form... call me amazed! The whole scene with Reina and her mother's reunion was really sad and sweet! I do wonder what Killua will do next though, but definitely did not expect Ging to make an appearance there. Well let's see what the last arc has to offer! |

| oh shit GING YOU FUCKER The cruel irony Gon practically killed himself for Kite, and then Kite and his dad are magically all there right when he's in a coma. Pretty much proof you should never give up hope when the future is still ahead. Especially when you're in an anime and characters can miraculously appear/come back to life. That first part with Reina was really sweet I can't believe there are only 12 episodes left now |
| I'll be honest: that reunion stuff in the first half really got to me. Which is weird, considering these weren't even main characters or characters that had much development or screen time. |

| Literally cried T_T It was so wonderful, such a call back to early in the arc and story. And now Gon is on life support, oh gosh, what will happen now? The guy stopped Pitou all by himself, everything could have gone wrong and everyone would have died without him. He is a true hero. |
| Brovada helping Reina find her way back to her bereaved mother and eventually becoming part of the family, living together peacefully in the NGL was a very heartwarming experience. Compared to the bittersweet heat-shattering tragedy that happened in the episode before this, this episode was tear-jerking in a joyful sense. The whole horrible ordeal is over and everyone's not going to kill each other anymore. Kite somehow getting reincarnated into the baby Colt retrieved from the Queen was a surprise big enough to have Morel scrambling for Gon and Killua to deliver the good news! I've never expected this turn of events but I'm really happy that he's survived in a way after all. Looking forward to how they'll explain it. Gon's in critical condition but Killua's more determined than ever to save his life... I wonder how exactly he'll be able to do that. With friends like that, he won't be dying anytime soon though. I hope that Kurapika and Leorio will be able to tag along to save their friend somehow. The Election's begin at Netero's wake and all of the Elite of the Elite are gonna show up all at once! |

| i really liked the scenes with brovada and reina and i hope colt reunites with his family at some point. This arc may not be my favorite, but it's the most interesting one in terms of philosophy and character development and interaction of everyone who was involved. It's also one of the most complex arc's, not just in the fighting-shonen genre, but in anime/manga in general imo. That's why the slow pace is sometimes important. There's a lot of foreshadowing and some things can easily be missed when watching/reading it for the first time. |

| the hina and his mother reunion were great, no wonder colt couldn't call her reina. and bloster treated as human, that's good ending. wonder how kilua planning to heal gon. the next/final arc should be interesting, hope gon to wake up to see his father. |

| Wow, the Chimera Ant arc wasn't my favorite but it definitely had some of the most heartfelt moments in the whole series, moved me to tears sometimes. Hunter Exam > Yorknew > Heavens Arena > Chimera Ant > Greed Island ALSO... IT'S GING! A new arc, here we go. |

| NGL I felt so sad the moment I saw Kurt & Reina got captured by the crab ant. Now I'm glad to know that she got rebirth. And that means she still has her brother, which got rebirth into Colt. It was shocking to know that Kite got rebirth too. I wonder if (s)he will meet Gon again in the future. |
