| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Back story of the Rose, not surprising there. The episode was good imo. They captured Pouf's face well just like in the manga with his expressions. Komugi was cute this episode, I'm glad she's healed. The Royal Guards' dedication to the King is pretty intense. I'm pretty hyped to see the upcoming fight between Gon and Pitou soon. |

| Solid episode in my opinion, but I really want to see more of Gon/Pitou soon. |

I've said it before, but Togashi's ability to make what should be a victory feel like anything but is to be commended. Youpi and Pouf screaming at the end hit hard, man. Gon scares me, as well as Killua backing him up on the hostage plan. Okay, I know Killua is an assassin but I've found him to be, ironically, the more soft hearted of the two. I don't think he would kill Komugi. But, man, if you told me Gon would hold people hostage when this series started, I wouldn't have believed that either. Btw, I think the pacing was fine. Considering it was the literal fallout of such a monumental episode, it kind of needed to be. I wouldn't be surprised if next week was similar. |

| The first scene was very powerful, and now it puts to rest the argument of whether the Rose was a last resort! "waiting to bloom"... I loved this metaphor. Knuckle: What drove him to think like that. Me: Being a god damn assassin since birth. I wish they did a better job illustrating Meruem being charcoal. More obvious in the manga. First time I had problem with transitions of the ED. Felt weird after the noise of the previous OST. The search for the king filler scene was a nice touch. Gon is pretty awesome in my opinion. |

| Decent episode but why did they skip 299? I don't understand why madhouse is changing order but oh well. Really liked the Gon/Pitou parts, damn the kid is milking the shitty situation Pitou is in lol. I also liked the Youpi and Pouf parts, Youpi might not be the smartest but he is one who can think clearly in intense situations. Pitou is freaking out, Pouf was freaking out and although Youpi is also feeling the heat he is not letting his emotionals run wild. I respect that. Actually that was something Gon picked up from Kurapika, the Troupe had Gon and Killua and Kurapika took Chrollo and made a deal to free Gon and Killua. Manga spoiler |

| Good follow up ep :) The OST this ep was amazing ^^ Man humans are friggin BRUTAL!! Using the Rose like that O_O Messed up as shit! Gon really owned Pitou so many times this chap XD First when he said "U're finished right?" Pitou didn't know what hit her XDXD Then his "I trust Pitou" Her reaction was so lol. "OH SHIT!" hahaha Damn! Since when was Gon fast enough to be able to follow Pitou XD Knuckle's reaction to Killua's thinking process was awesome. Really these guys know nothing about Killua and Gon hehe ^^ And poor poor Komugi XD She has no idea what the hell is going on XDXD I feel bad for her lol. I really missed her though. She's such an adorable girl ^^ And DAT ending!!! The despair Youpi and Pouf felt was awesomely depicted!! Their faces were drawn brilliantly ^^ And Youpi wants to kill!! Meruem looked creepy as hell petrified like that O_O SHIT IS CREEPY!! Nxt ep is gonna be one of the weirdest eps ever XD I still remember reading that chap XD Pouf and Youpi will be high on crack XD |

OT: Brilliant follow up to last week, the OST during the Rose backstory was beautiful, it just hammers in the human nature theme by showing that at times, humans can be just evil and the feels have just only begun. # Pouf's face, they did that so well, glad Komugi is back and just acting as cute as ever. Spectacular voice acting from everyone and the OST just made everything so intense!!!!!! P.S. everytime the ending that comes earlier than the credicts IT FITS PERFECTLY!! |

| I liked the King as a character, but damn am I glad that's finally over. Took them long enough. Really enjoyed this episode though. I almost forgot how much dedication the Royal Guards have towards the King. |
