| I had high hopes for this anime but I am greatly dissapointed. Interesting story, but incredibly slow paced which made it fucking boring. I literally skipped scenes from episode 20 and on just trying to force myself to finish it since I had already gotten that far. There were some good points in some action scenes but it was overall just meh. I didn't really like any of the characters either 'cept for Guts. Boring. 6/10. Hopefully the manga isn't as shitty. |

| Ok wtf, that was some serious mindfuck.. I just rewatched episode 1, so it makes a little more sense I guess. *Off to read manga spoilers* This anime up until the 23rd episode (as soon as the entered the demon world) was a masterpiece, after that I didnt like the whole supernatural aspect of this show. Although we knew it had a supernatural element to it from the very beginning, the last two episodes still felt akward to me. Its like they weren't meant to be there at all and they were just forced in to follow more of the manga's storyline. The anime should have ended after they rescued Griffith and be left with a to be continued or something at least it would have seemed like some sort of ending. But overall this was a very enjoying series, and one that I defintely enjoyed =). Guts' character development, the whole rise in the Band of the Hawks, Griffiths character prior to Guts leaving the band of the hawks, etc etc was awesome. All the action scenes and fights along with the BGM was done very well for an anime as old as this one. Overall 9/10 from me. Mod Edit: Removed untagged Claymore spoiler. |

| Amazing anime I must say. While I am disappointed in the ending, it was still over good. And the ending, despite not answering anything is quite powerful.Been awhile since I have come across a series as good as this. 9/10 Time for the manga...xD |
| This is way to awesome people. Definitely recommended. Too bad it is toooooo short, I want MORE of this anime, but theres nothing i can do about it. Guess i'm gonna go read the manga so i wont go berserk :)) |

| Aaaargh, the fact that there's no more of animated Berserk drives me literally... berserk! The whole series has a pretty slow-paced development but when the most interesting plots surface, the series... ends. This is way too unfair! How is it that nobody really took a chance of making another season of this anime after all those years?! Meh, guess it's time to check out the manga, but... Considering the fact it has been coming out for 20 years (sic!), this sounds like a long journey... |

| I'll probably never forget the sight of Guts being held down with a claw crushing his eye screaming in agony while he watches Casca being raped. It made me cringe, it made me shake my head, and even though I understood Griffith's reasoning in all this it made hate him. I understood the series title in that one scene. 9/10, the ending is far from closure but I can't help but consider it one of the better and more memorable open endings I've seen. I don't think they could have chosen a better way than that to end it. |

| Awesome series. To bad we don't see many of this nowadays. The end is more just a new beginning. I would love to see an ova (or even a movie like the end of evangelion) to fill the holes. \edit going to read about the manga seems there's a lot to explore. :) |

| Episode 25, the great masacre clifhanger... I actually wish an anime company would pick this series up again, we really lack gritty seinen's naw-a-days. :( I know th mang is still going, yet there is still a lot of material to cover; an anime culd go for years without catching up. |

| F*ck! Can't deny how great this is, but it feels so damn incomplete. I knew this was coming though, that's why it took me so long to actually pick this series up. If you rate this below a 9, you're absolutely nuts. This reminds me why the mid to late 90's is my favorite period in anime. |

| Oh shit , all these 6 pages = just people who complain a lot I'm sick. Berserk is fuckin' great , and that ending wasn't that bad. Be happy with what you've got , because it's 2010 and nobody seems to be interested in doing a new Berserk anime or a second season. I'm happy , because this was the best action anime that i ever watched. No fillers , no kids jokes , no <15 years old main characters. 9/10 I have to read the manga. |
| I remember all those years ago what made this anime so great was that it ended with what seemed to be like the bad guys winning, because that mostly never happens. I loved Guts. The dude was kickass awesome, but still it was nice to see something unexpected happened in an anime for once, and that was the ending of Berserk for me. |

| Woah. I actually watched this so that I knew some of the story when I moved onto the manga, and god, do I need to read the manga now. I just - what a mindfuck. Casca's rape scene was just - uncomfortable to watch. Damn, and to think Griffith was the one who saved her from that way back in the beginning :( 9/10. |

| Seriously, I didn't even think the anime was that great *until* the ending. I can't fathom what you all are whining about, because honestly this is one of, if not the, best endings I have ever seen in an anime. Are you that addicted to closure that when a masterpiece open ending slaps you in the face, you don't even notice? Pah. |

| What Griffith did to the Band of the Hawk was horrible but also completely understandable. He really had no alternative. So it's kind of hard to muster up much hatred for him as opposed to say Harry in Gungrave. As for the ending, I think complaints of it are valid. It is rather abrupt, it could've at least shown Guts escaping instead ending where it was at. Berserk was one of the classics I had never gotten around to seeing despite how highly it's regarded. After finishing I have to say the anime is overrated, I'm going to rate it a 7/10. However, it's obvious there is an amazing story and characters with depth that the anime did not quite deliver on.That's why I'm looking forward to the new series even if it is a remake because this is an amazing story and while I enjoyed this version it could've been done better in pretty much every regard - writing, animation, etc. Except the appearance of the God Hand and these last few episodes. That was pretty horrific, disturbing, and absolutely awesome. |

| As someone who saw the anime before reading the manga i have to say that was the most unsatifying ending if had to endure since evangelion tv series. If they had only produced an ova, or a few more episodes quickly taking the story a few chapters further (arund to guts receiving his new hand a sword and setting off for revengr) this show couldve been perfect. Enjoying the manga thus far (onwards to volume 15)! |
