I liked it more than the 1st season. I think people dont consider it was half the length of it.
Was Soumas evolution sequence some kind of reference?

Great finale to the Stagiare Arc. It was awesome seeing Souma persevere and make such a yummy looking dish. Though I'm really sad this show's over. Season 1 definitely had better pacing, but this season was just fine. Off to the manga!

All in all, I'm very glad I decided to give Shokugeki no Souma a try back in June. It was so worth it to marathon the first season and watch this season as it aired. Honestly, I can say that Shokugeki no Souma has probably become one of my favorite shounens. This right here is a shounen done right!

Should've made it a 2-cour. Felt rushed, but eh...

It was entertaining, though I hate how overly-shounen it felt, just like the first season. Above average nonetheless.

Shinomiya and his little student Yukihira were cute.

6.5/10

This. Overly-shounen as hell, could have lived without its ecchi as well. Characters are extremely pathetic and annoying as well imo, dragging down the series even more. There are exceptions like, for example Yukihira though.. Other than that - great.

Awesome animation with that unlimited utensil works, and that maid cafe female employee looks a lot like Tadakoro, then I feel disappointed that it's not her T_T

Very enjoyable series overall, would certainly wait for the sequel. 8/10

Thank god this show is over and put out of it's misery. No story, no character development. It was a series of cooking duels followed by a couple episodes of "restaurant rescue" only it had as much to do with actual cooking as dodging bullets, jumping 50 feet in the air and shooting lasers out of your eyes has to do with a karate tournament.

Check out the second season of Chef's Table. In one episode you'll get more story and character than this entire series, you'll see real Michelin star kitchens and food that is best in the world. But no one's cloths will explode off of them, and no huge breasted high school girls. Which is probably really why you watched this garbage.

I enjoyed this season, although I preferred the first season, during the tournament arc it focused a lot more on the battles so the Stageire or whatever arc was a nice change of pace. But it was still enjoyable to see the battles and Souma growing :D Hoping for a third season!

This season felt way too rushed and had a lot of pacing issues. I haven't read the source and I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, but even I could tell where things were likely cut or compressed. Still it felt like SnS, so I am not all that disappointed. I feel like the main points got across, even if they were poorly executed or paced at times.

I'll be looking forward to the next season.

No more sns after. Been watching sns since this year's Raya. and today , watched the finale.
It has been a very entertaining show. Reminds of knb , some says that the mangaka accumulating
10 years worth knowledge of basketball to create such masterpiece ,I think the same goes to
sns author too , to create this amazing story , the author must have had accumulated huge amount
of knowledge in cooking and dishes.

Really like the main character Souma and his interaction with other characters. Its like , this is
my first time watching non-stupid idiot weak-like main character starring a show. I can see he's
harnessing/practising/studying a LOT to become a professional chef. Must be really good I can do the
same thing in engineering to become a professional engineer. I just don't have the spirit. haha
I will develop it though.

anyway , 10/10. I personally fond of this anime.
Next season goin to be next or next next year , idk. i can always read the manga , haha.

Inferior to S1 as it's been said a dozen times over. Doesn't mean it wasn't good and doesn't necessarily detract from the series as a whole. But, the one cour outline and the resulting rapid fire pace really took away from what made S1 so charming and captivating at times. As result, season 1 was a 8-9 and this was an easy 7. Look forward to more and hope they don't chisel away at it the next time.

Apart from the apparent pacing issues of this rush job, I guess they did as good of a job as they could. The way they ended things seriously gave the vibe that they were indifferent to whether they came out with a season 3 though.

They did what they could given that their might be some budget so far within JC staff as to why they weren't able to replicate the first season 24-episode margin.

It was rushed, yes, but it covered the entire Autumn Election arc only missing a few scenes from the manga itself. In the Stagiaire Arc however, the reason why some characters were given fillers (Hayama, Nakiri Alice) was to give flavor as to the manga didn't reveal where they were sent. Some were limited to just peeks as to covering an entire arc within 3 - 24-minute episodes is a monumental task to do, thereby limiting the Stagiaire Arc to focus more on Soma's own cooking style evolution.

I have to give this season 2 a 9/10. Superb nonetheless. Once again, anime moms are best moms (Kojiro's soft side for mom) and Inui Hinako stealing the spotlight.

P.S. I hope they would animate L'Etoile to see more of Hinako X Shinomiya moments.

Soma has to come up with a french dish completely on his own. He has perfectly copied a few dishes before, but here he has to come up with a brand new recipe. And as expected, he makes one which combines french and japanese cooking. It ends up being not good enough, but Shinomiya teaches Soma a thing or two about how to further improve the dish. And in the end, the dish finds its way to the menu. The purpose of the stagiare has been told to be a test to see which students get something out of the pros. The students have to learn something from the pros and then leave a mark of their own in a professional setup. Soma is now using different cooking styles and combining them into his own cooking. He's learning stuff from everyone and is incorporating them into his own dishes.
Lol Takumi in a maid café was awesome.

This season was quite good. It was a bit fast paced, but I didn't really mind it much. The autumn elections were quite intense and this stagiare was cool too. We got some further development for Soma, some Hisako time, some back story on the relationship between Ryo and Alice, and some good cooking battles. Pretty solid season just like its prequel.

9/10 for this season. Started a bit weak, was fast-paced but they still managed to make something great out of it.

Oh boy the final episode. Yukihira's food looked good, two people lost their clothes, got a brief history lesson on French cuisine in Japan, and he kind of lost, but won in the process. Also got a view of what everybody else was up to, which was very nice. And with that the Stagiaire is Complete, and the season is over.

That was excellent, and it delivered in everything I hoped it would for the most part. It was a bit rushed at times, but very good. Now, personally, I think the first season was better. There should have been more episodes for this season to avoid the rush, but aside from that, this was fantastic. 9/10

Well, it was a decent final-end ep. It was again very informative and funny on the same time! Hinako is really a troublesome but a warmhearted person, I like her^_^!

Hmm... A bit a shame that we couldn't more screen times except Souma's and Erina's Stagiere - Because I had really e.g. a bit more from Megumi's maid version seen - But so is happened.

The 3 months are like the express train gone, for me was like a moment. I do think that the staff and cast now their deserved break take could - especially Risa-chan - That they then again in about 1 year the continuation of the series make can.

I have one thing to say:

Can J.C. Staff make Shokugeki no Souma their flagship already? Apparently s2 ends at chapter 116 out of 184. No idea how fast they come out since I don't follow it(will after I wait a while with no rumors of a 3rd season coming though), but I seems there's plenty of room for another 2 cour season, and maybe another 1 cour with more chapters coming out 'till then. Heck, even then I could still see it going since there's it could as well follow Souma & the other characters' story as they grow up and face various hardships in the food industry.

The problem is not that is poorly adapted, but the autumn election arc in the Manga is long and don't have much stakes + less comedy/ecchi. It's quite faithful to the Manga. Plot Armor is always strong in shonen storylines.

Great job, Yukihira! With a little help from Shinomiya, your dish was able to make his menu after all! =D

Anyway, the second season of Food Wars has come to an end a once again, it was fun, epic and pretty tense along the way too. I'm glad that all of the members of the Polaris Dorm made it through the Stagiarie challenge safely, although I was surprised when, for the first time ever I believe, they showed Ibusaki's eye. O_O

However, this season had more faults than season one and it's pretty apparent that the pacing has gotten some stick from other users here and I do understand that. I would've preferred 24 or so episodes again, but if it was to adapt of Autumn election and Stagiarie again, then I would think certain parts of both arcs would drag on and people would inevitably complain about the slow pace. Looking at the manga discussions during the Autumn Elections Arc, users were a little frustrated about the slow pacing, due to the weekly chapters of about 20 pages.

I haven't seen what the next arc is after this, but if the ending of the next arc, assuming that this next arc is done that is, is good enough to finish the show's 24-26 episode run, then that would potentially give the studio an extra episode or two for both the Autumn Election and Stagiarie arc so that they could address the pacing better.

And aside from a few art/animation issues, it's overall quality was very good and MUCH more consistent then J.C Staff's adaption of Taboo Tattoo.

Overall, season two of Food Wars doesn't hit the highs of season one, but for me, it still deserves a 9/10. =)

Please let there be a season three! =3

Not sure I recognize where that reference is from where Soma is pierced by countless fancy cutlery and glows like an action shounen protagonist getting a power-up. Any ideas?

Was hoping there would be a season 3 announcement at end of episode, but even if there wasn't, there's still hope if it does well in sales, enough to convince the fat cats that this series is where the money is at to do more.

Overall I liked it....not as much as first season due to them rushing through it, as it should easily have been double the number of episodes, but at least they didn't leave it off as a cliffhanger and ended it at a good point enough to be satisfied with. But I'm not the type to eat until I'm satisfied, I eat until I'm full. So for that, I give this season just one point shy of a perfect 10, being so high only because it's freaking Shokugeki no Soma foodporn greatness, otherwise it'd be an 7 or 8.
