A secondary battle will unfold in the small village when the army finds out there are goblins living there. Luckily, the army will be exhausted and those guys have plenty of battle experience to provide a long fight.

There are only a handful of goblins, and they have a whole army. I doubt those few goblins could fight off five thousand soldiers

Wow what a waste of an episode. They could've done all of this in 5 minutes, but instead we get the boring interactions of three characters who haven't appeared in a long time. I can't even count this as a buildup episode, felt more like slice of life.
Also Ainz is now fighting alongside the people who tried to kill him in his very first fight? Yeah I don't like the season 3 Nazarick anymore...

Wasn't it the Slane Theocracy, not the empire he went up against first?
And since it looks like its building up certain characters so the Arche and co's massacre haters have something else to go on about,I think it was a good episode, just for that reason alone.

Death flags soaring high. It gives some good atmosphere to the whole episode.

And in the LN, there was 300 undead knights and 200 soul eaters. In the WN, Undead Knights with Skeletal Dragon. In the anime...........hey, I dont mind it all being Undead knight since they're just props anyway but the CG is so bad. Why can't they make it like what they did in Season 2 during the Lizardmen arc.

That build up episode was calm to watch!

I am really curious to discover what Ainz is planning! So hyped to see!
Next episode will be exciting for sure! I smell blood!

Ainz had like 30 seconds of screen time, and always impress someone showing how powerfull he is!

Btw, when the prince reaches the battle, he will get a great surprise!

Maybe it's the last time those three will ever be together and Gazef predicts this too. As for the King to go on with war, its pretty suicide for him and his men, what shocks me is that he knows judging the way he sent his son to the Carne village.

Going to war against Ains the overlord is like going to war with God, they sure are suicidal. This is the best season and way better than last season, because I treasure each episode.

Stronoff might end being a pawn of Ains and Gazef dead because he will come to understand where the SHALLTEAR BLOODFALLEN lives and all. I assume.

Sometimes I feel bad to not have read the light novel but at least I have the surprise effect!

You willfully avoid the LN source material? I applaud that approach to taking in this story. Enjoy the surprise! After the whole series is over, do you think you'd want to read the LN to see how it differed?

Yea a lot of information left out from the LN that made this part interesting. ei The shift in power between the nobility and royalty after Renner recommend the king to assist the adventurers during Jaldabaoth's invasion for favor. The Empire causing these annually wars around winter specifically to cause farmers to leave there harvest.

In his first fight those were Theocracy soldiers equipped with Empire armor trying to bait out Gazef so that the sunlight scripture can deal with him.

Just a set-up episode this week so not much can really be said, but it feels pretty much inevitable that this is going to be another slaughter, regardless of whether Ains personally enters the fray or not (based on how one Death Knight massacred the Theocracy soldiers attacking Carne in the first season). At the very least, based on their promise, at least one if not all of Brain, Gazef and Climb will die in the coming battle.

I can't say that I'm a friend of the way he handled the workers either, so I at least can not share your feelings about this episode.

Yeah, even as a non-reader I could guess that they left out a lot of interesting parts again. And once again I don't know why they are doing it, doesn't sound like it would be too hard to animate. For some reasons they just decide to keep the most boring parts in between fights -_-

Oh right, I forgot about that. Never mind what I said then, I'm completely lost when it comes to the names of the kingdoms xD

Yeah I forgot about that, my bad. I also can't remember what kingdom is which one since the name's rarely appear and I can't see much difference between them anyway.

Re-Estize's royal army is certainly f*cked as sure as the sun rises in the east, as well as Gazef, Brain, and Princess Renner's boy toy too...but we'll see next episode!

What an idiot prince, I don't care if it's pride to prove himself in battle or just lack of common sense but exhausted foot soldiers cannot fight on their feet even if you whip them to death! Clearly he hasn't marched on foot and in armor while carrying other camping/fighting gears in his whole life as he must be always cuddling his royal arse in a horse. >_<

Anime is an adaptation of the light novel not manga. Manga is already far behind anime.

It just feels so slow paced, this whole episode felt like it could have been compressed to 5min.
So much dialog with various characters that i can't help think "i don't care about these people, why should i care about these people?, can we just move on already!"... my god it gets boring!

In S2 Renner wanted Climb to die.
Gazef has been giving us a lot of death flags these chapters so it's probably him, but don't forget that Renner don't want Climb to stay alive, she wants him to die in order to make that adventurer of the blue roses to revive him, making him a good for nothing that will stay under Renner's "care" without any way for escape.

The struggle between the noble faction and the royal faction wasn't properly established and raven didn't get enough screen time. (Like always the novels are better).
Also they crammed dozens or even hundreds of pages into a few min at the end... it makes me kinda sad tbh.

I am sure it wasn't directly mentioned in the anime, nor the LN, but I think the reason Climb managed to survive in S2 that time, despite Renner's deal with Demi-Urge, was due to Ainz/Momon appearing on the adventurer request (filled by Marquis Raven, you know, the guy shown in this episode), causing Demi-Urge to have to change his plans as I think originally he was supposed to do much more damage to the capital and grow as an "evil adversary" until later Momon comes and defeats him, but because Demi-Urge, as always, was convinced that Ainz had a much deeper meaning in appearing early, he revised his plans to fit those of Ainz.

During his discussion in the abandoned building, when Ainz and Demi-Urge were talking about the merits of the plan, he was definitly convinced that Ainz was just humoring him when he said "you found one more advantage in the plan than me, you bested me for the first time". There's no doubt that as far as Demi-Urge is concerned, Ainz probably found 50 or more additional advantages and several flaws in this plan, after all Ainz was the leader of all Supreme Beings, who he proposed the King title of "Wise King" for (although it was rejected in the end).

As a result the deal between Renner and Demi-Urge couldn't be fulfilled because with Momon's and Nabe's unexpected intervention, the adventurer's side was doing much better than expected and Climb never got into a dire enough situation to be killed by the demons. As for the deal? A slightly interesting NINGEN or AINZ OOAL GOWN-SAMA? It's not even a question who Demi-Urge would prioritize. Too bad for you, Renner.

So Ainz/Momon unknowingly saved Climb from becoming a full-time pet back in season 2.

If it's not like I say then why don't you explain what you think is the ACTUAL truth? Do you think that Renner never told Demi-Urge her plans or that she only thought about this idea of "taking care" of Climb after the deal was already made? Or do you think Demi-Urge planned to renegade on this part of the deal from the very beginning for some reason? Not answering this question creates a plot hole because if Renner knew beforehand that Climb would be protected then she wouldn't have a reason to have that creepy monologue about "taking care" of Climb - a plot hole.

Unless you explain it with "a moment of pure delusional insanity", but then she would have a more general delusion, not so specificly tied to this incident.
