dam someone already made the koichi joke.

kobayashi's va was on point. also, why are koichi's relatives taller than him? what happened to him? does his mother ever wonder why he's so tiny?

In another episode, it is revealed that Koichi was born prematurely weighing only 2325 grams (5 lbs 2 oz), and was kept in intensive care for 7 days.

yeah, that happens, my friend had premature birth, that was 24 weeks and now she is quite small compared to her family. i gotta to say Koichi is lucky that is not deaf

Nice, finally the tie for Koichi to shine, something I've been waiting for.

I like how his stand can be deadly too, considering the abilities which don't seem to kill.

I can't imagine if Koichi went DORARARARA too, the sounds it produced would be unberarable

SON OF A BEEEEEEEETCH

Pretty nice adaptation. The Lock is a interesting stand but never fond his chapters to be that memorable, but animation and voice acting made it really fun.

Great episode. Koichi was so bad ass. Finally get to see his Stand "Echoes". Very interesting ability. Attacking Tamami with Sound Effects.
Really hated that bastard Tamami. His Stand "The Lock" seems really annoying to go up against.
Koichi is hilarious when he over-reacts to things.
Looks like Tamami is Koichi's personal assistant/slave now. LOL.

The part with the mom was quite frustrating - how a shady-looking stranger could induce a mom to doubt her own son to such extent, but I'll just pretend that The Lock stand multiplies guilt to insane levels.

Echoes seems like a pretty unique Stand. At first I thought it was a typically "deal damage" kind of Stand but using it as a kind of brainwash Stand is pretty out-of-the-box!

Now that i see it in anime form, the fact The Lock can force a person into thinking about suicide is quite scary, it's just one of those abilities that remind me Jojo is rather dark despite all the over the top stuff covering it.

Also yes, both Echoes and Koichi are inspired by Gohan and Cell.

Love it so much, Koichi was so awesome this episode. *_*
This fight really benefited from being animated, the sound effects were top notch and I like the song they played during the confrontation.
So far it's a perfect adaptation!

Everything is great but I can't help but think how Echoes power won't translate well in anime form if David Production never animate those manga sound effect. It can't be the reason they animate those since Phantom Blood is for this power, right? right? Yeah, I doubt they planned that far.

The onomatopoeias were always a big part of JoJo culture; you can see how parodies always use the "ゴゴゴゴゴゴ", for example. There is an interview which the staff talk how they wanted to translate that to the anime and making them to pop up, just like in the manga, was the best way to achieve that.

Koichi's stand really is interesting, looking forward to seeing more of it. Nice to see him get some spotlight in this episode. He was badass and loved the moment when he told Kobayashi to bring him five hundred grand tomorrow.

Haha, thats my boy Koichi, this is why he is my fav of the main guys.
I really like his stand ECHOES (Not Reverb thats just to avoid Copyright) even though its weak at first glance proberly used it becomes strong.

Also like his SSJ hairstyle and him saying "i wont forgive you".
Im also glad this was finished in one ep., for guys not reading the manga the stand of the week will be a pain to deal with.

Tamami is not initially short in the comic. In that, he's just as tall as Josuke and only becomes short when humiliated & humbled as we see at the end of the episode here.
Always remember that anime is a niche medium in Japan. Manga sells way better

I see... I was under the impression that The Lock just caused unbearable discomfort, since Koichi and Okayasu didn't appear to suffer from more guilt when the lock manifested.

Obviously since they can see that the lock is there and what it's all about, normal people do not see it or understand it and just get the feeling that comes with it.

Interesting something to note- Have any theories as to why they shrank him early?
(I have not read the manga) I would guess that the producers wanted him to seem like a petty person early in the series (?)

Who knows? To be fair, they beautified Iggy early, too. And I don't mean the Oingo Boingo episode. He was given his later series look in the first Geb episode for the group photo.

Funny you say that cause literally everyone I know thinks he's one. (much to my regret)

In any case, the episode was pretty hilarious, and I think Yuki Kaji pulled off a great performance.

Why should people call this a rip-off? Toriyama himself insisted for Katsura to make the a SSJ out of the Mega Play-Boy in DNA². The Jojo's author worked in the same magazine, I wonder if this was coming this time from Araki or from Toriyama again.

For the same reason people called Pacific Rim a NGE ripoff, Getter Robo a TTGL ripoff (i'm not kidding, there were people who actually thought this) and Stardust Crusaders a Persona ripoff. People are dumb.

@HigashikataJojo Doesn't sound like a synonym at all: there is a big difference between doing a shameless copy and being inspired by another work.

edit: all my excuses and thank you. It was never my intention to trigger such a strong reaction.
By the way, I was juxtaposing the two quotes because yours seemed right when the general reaction suggested in the above one was exaggerated.

This Tamami guy really pissed me off. He’s greedy AF. So happy to see Koichi man up and go super saiyan. Echoes is a very unique stand ability.

A bit touched when Koichi threw the onomatopoeia words to his mum and she started to believe in him. What a genius way to use your stand ability, Koichi! And the sound effects are great!

Koichi’s sister looks cute and hot.
