| This has finally graced us with its awesomeness. I spent the entire pre-OP preview hoping that they didn't change it, so when the preview was over and the same good old OP started playing I almost died from happiness. Already liking the new characters too so 5/5 and off to a great season! Does anyone have a good gif of Maruo making an autograph in the OP? (Not sure if that's what he's actually doing, just how it seems like to me). |

| I just finished marathoning the first season + this episode. So far I am enjoying it very much. I thought they won't have an America arc, instead they'll just show us what has he learnt from being their, but this is way better :) |

| I'm glad the sequel has seemingly been upgrading it's animation backgrounds and other details An extra point from me for now They kept the OP song just like Log Horizon which isn't really a bad thing The new characters at Florida are very interesting especially the siblings Marcia and Alex |
| Whoa, Marcia is gorgeous. *-* Can't believe I am saying this, but I am impressed that this episode managed to make me believe that it did everything right, from not changing the OP song, to showing promising animation in it, to the story, characters etc, and the decision to change the ED song (not that the last one was bad but I have a feeling this one will fit this season better). It did felt a bit weird though coming into season 2 right after the first season, I'd like to have a little smoother transition where Maruo arrival to Florida was shown, but it was nothing major. |

| Season 2 started immediately meeting my expectations! For the first time Maruo is eating, breathing, and living tennis. Marcia is somewhat obnoxious but I'm hoping she'll grow on me. Atsushi is a funny character already and I'm glad he's Maruo's roommate, the sneaky burger made me chuckle. My favorite scene this episode actually was when all the Americans got a look at Maruo's notes and were utterly shocked, quite easily making him known as the notebook guy once again. What a hilarious scene that we knew had to happen. I do wish that the English-Japanese translation problems were better shown. As it is now it feels like everyone can speak flawless Japanese. And so, this is the arc of learning how to deal with the American style, I'm sure it'll be a fascinating learning experience for the viewer and for Maruo. I can't wait to see him beat some of the big fish around him, assuming he will at least. This is Baby Steps and as far as we know he could lose nearly everything but learn enough from them to come back much stronger. I wouldn't even be upset, the portrayal of realistic winning and losing and growth is one of Baby Steps best strengths. It is in fact the battles we lose we learn the most from after all. |

| I like this beautiful, white tsundere Marcia. I like her more than the season 1 girls and she definitely looks better. MC getting crushed as usual. He has no weapons in tennis, he's just a pusher. I love how everyone conveniently speaks Japanese. |

| Loved the start of this new season. Maruo's now in America training for a couple weeks against a range of foreign talent to get some experience against different kinds of players and help him gain some confidence too to take back to Japan. For a guy that's only been playing tennis for under two years, his journey has been pretty wild to lead him to America to eat, sleep and breathe tennis for a while like this. Glad they retained the OP song this season. Unlike Log Horizon or Hunter x Hunter which use the same OP song for a long time and sounds annoying as hell to listen to, I love this song so I'll listen to it more gladly. The tease scenes and the tennis sequences in this opening were nice and better than the first season's opening. One thing I can't believe I forgot for a long time was the ending song. This was my jam and one of my favorite anime ending songs when I first heard it when seeing this show a couple years back but I just forgot about this after some time. This song by Ganbare! Victory still fucking bangs for me and now that I remember it, I'll be playing it a lot more on my phone for a while. Significantly better than the ending song for the previous season too. |
