It was an okay episode.
Some funny parts that left you wanting to know more about Faye's past that she can't remember.

I have VHS impacted my childhood. But the battle between Betamax and VHS was before my time. It's funny to think DVDs are older compared to Blu-ray. Man, I'm going to start feeling old once I start to know someone who that never owned a VHS...

The preview for this lied. It WAS as interesting as it seemed at first.
A nice Faye episode. There's no way they can't explain where the tape and beta came from.
Oh, I'd like to see more of Earth, too.

Wow...yeah, favorite ep so far.

It was great to see Faye in the present finally show some genuine vulnerability; was rather emotional in my opinion. I can't imagine the emotions going through her, knowing that the girl she's watching is truly herself but feeling as though she's watching a complete stranger due to her lost memories. The difference between her two personalities is what hit me the hardest though. She used to be adorable; so innocent, so carefree, so pure.

Wonderful episode. My old video player suffered the same fate as that betamax after it chewed up a very important video tape of mine!

Stupid Spike,
I thought he ruined videotape at first.
Then he kicked the video cassette player. What did he say in his defence?"It usually works out, when I kick."

Nice episode, way better than the last one. The ending scene was sadder to me than what was probably intended.

So maybe the younger Faye knows there''ll be stuff happening to her so she made this video for her future self.. question is what exactly happened?

A VHS is an artifact. That made my day. It's practically an artifact in these days.

Then Spike and Jet go on a bro trip. And Ein answers the vid-phone.

The stuff showed on the videotape was really touching.. I didn't expect that especially after how happy go lucky /silly most of the episode was. One of Faye's friends/classmates looks strait up like a dude though xD It was nice seeing all those small detailed items in her room and stuff too.

It makes me wonder how I would feel if I watched a video of a 13 year old version of myself (10 years ago). I was such a bookworm/antisocial dude at the time that the only way you'd ever see a recording of me is from a family vacation or something and not with friends like that D:

The only VHS video (not Beta lol never heard of that before now) I have watched of myself is a really old one of my mom feeding me when I was a baby, and one when I was 4-5 and snow-sleding down a hill and screaming lol.

Faye's past self cheering for herself was just too cute. I honestly hoped that Faye would remember some bits of her memory after this.

A Google search revealed Betamax so exist.

Them finding a VHS player after all that plowing through the museum. xD

And spike's logic of kicking to make devices work.

This episode was amazing. from the comedy bit too the emotional bit at the end.

As a Singaporean myself...isn't that the Merlion? So are the Japanese implying that Faye is a Singaporean? Well, that's rather...arbitrary. The last few minutes stumped me. The atmosphere when they were watching the clip was tense, yet nostalgic at the same time. I can't help but feel a sense of enigma in the end; the clips finally got to her 50 years later, and she is unaware of why she even took it in the first place. I really hope she could remember everything, and explanation given for her relationship with Vicious.

I always found the ending very touching in particular. Deep down, without her attitude and proclamation that no one can really be trusted; betray them before they betray you, she's a very lonely and alienated young woman. Someone who isn't even supposed to be around in the current Bebop era.

Seeing herself 50 years ago with no recollection of doing that at all is pretty sad. But touching to see that she was once a very positive person.

There is no real relationship between the two. I've noticed some people being confused about that in previous episode discussions. The only time they ever met was in episode 5, and that's how she knows about him from that point on.

Amazing episode!

I'm glad we got to see more about Faye's past. Even though they haven't told her real name yet.

I have to wonder, the young Faye keep saying she's no longer here. Could it be that she knew something's gonna happen to her in the near future?!

Kinda lol'd to Spike and Jet they would go all the way on earth just to pick a Beta and it's not even the right player!. I can't believe they don't know VHS or Beta. Well i never experience Beta, but VHS as well!?!

I was thinking in this setting, they would have USB's as for players. Since it's more portable and they should have at least 1TB by this year.

Poor Faye. It seems even after seeing her young self, she still can't remember a thing about it. I have a feeling the senders of the packages were her old classmates and probably knew about her accident.

Still Whitney mentioned it was 50 years since she died, so i doubt her old friends would still be alive right now :O

Oh well good stuff!! Seems we only gotten 10 episodes of "Complex" stories while the rest seems to be "Stand Alone" bounty episodes.

Can't wait for the next episode!

This was a nice episode. I'm glad they decided to show the whole tape. It sucks she never mentions her name but I guess she must have figured she wouldn't forget that. If I make a tape like this I will make sure to throw in my name just in case lol. When they made this anime they had not invented VHS to DVD yet. But I wonder if there are BETA to DVD programs. At least they predicted facetime lol.
