The show is a lot of fun so far. I don't see it better as MHA but it's pretty good. I'll keep waiting but I have a fear Pop-Step has useless written all over her. She looks like a Smash Bros character that's unfinished.
I had to change this because some loser couldn't make an actual argument. So....yeah I hope you guys like the new sig.

Knuckleduster proves deku could have been a hero without a quirk.

@Old_School_Akira Bro he is going to die before this series is over. There is a reason even Batman had to take breaks compared to Superman who could use the Sun to heal himself.

Knuckleduster shows why he's the best character in this show. Knuckleduster deserves to be known as a amazing hero for being one without a quirk. I do like the style of this show of how it looks like a comic book compared to the original show. Just seeing them work as a team just looks and feels awesome and honestly if you think about it. It's a good thing they were there because a baby could've died!!

The production quality of this new studio Bones opened is incredible, already making the main series visuals feel almost liveless. And tbh it’s much more interesting than the first season of the main series

It’s literally the same studio but with a different name. Not NEW. And no scene in this spin off so far looks better than the main series. You are overhyping this spin off. lol.

You know, I'm starting to prefer this version.

Ok, now this time with the battle having more focus on the characters' quirks and how to use the environment to leverage their limitations we're already talking about an improvement over the original series. And here Knucklebuster is quirkless but can manage with reasoning and fist fighting, which is pretty cool. Also, I haven't realized by now that another thing that really annoyed me was just how much time and space on the screen was wasted explaining quirks which this show hasn't done at all despite introducing multiple characters. And the opening song and comic book aesthetic are engaging.

Good start.

The fight between Aizawa and Knuckleduster, however short, was pretty intense. Kouichi is starting to get a little used to the vigilante lifestyle. Seems like they'll have a couple run ins with law enforcement down the line.

My girl Pop☆Step being rescued once again 😭 Well, at least she managed to be useful by deescalating the situation between Jotaro and Josuke.

Not gonna lie, I liked Episode 1 more. Knuckleduster being quirkless is a nice touch tho.

Love that he is quirkless.

My only issue at the moment is that they are obviously going to die or get arrested by the end of the series because otherwise we would have seen them or heard them mentioned in the real setting.

Very impressed with how there was no noticeable drop in visual quality this week. This is easily the best looking MHA series to date, it fully embraces the comic book look with thick lines and flying action words. I really dig it.

Looks like Knuckle Duster isn't just some psycho, he was actually right about that business man. Found it kind of weird that Pop Step had all those photos with him conveniently in every single one. I also like how well this has stuck with the street level point of view. While heroes like Eraserhead are working directly with police in the open, the crew often finds themselves meeting up in back alleys. It really help differentiate itself from the OG MHA.

Happy to see that Crawler actually acted like a hero this week. Got a kick out of the Jojo/X-Men reference with the two dudes.

Leave it to the old dude to get Eraserhead on their case. You'd think Eraserhead would have come across him sooner with his lack of grace. But he's getting away with it, I suppose. For the time being.

Having the three roided out misfits coming after Slippy is one thing, growing to a height rivaling Mount Lady is another XD these drugs are super effective

I think Koichi's quirk is really fun and cool lol
Am I crazy or the hand moves and pose he did when introducing himself as The Crawler was exactly the same ones that Toei's Japanese Spider-Man does? lmaooo 🤣

If Knuckleduster wasn't so crazy he would have been perfect for OFA instead of Deku lol, even Koichi, how could have things turn out if All Might meet him instead of Deku?

I like how Pop is not part of the team but she still hangs out with them, it makes their friendship feel more genuine that way, I think.
I hope she develops some kind of romantic relationship with Koichi (like Deku and Ochako), I know deep down she can't resist Mr. "Nice Guy" lol
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~

I'm kind of digging this set up and general sell of the series far more than what the main series was. Maybe its fatigue from just how much I think that main series drops off in quality after its introductory arcs but going to street level crimes off the grid with underpowered heroes is just a super enjoyable concept for this world which becomes almost annoying in how world ending in scale the rest of the series is.

The translations on crunchyroll for this are kind of bad sometimes. "the cruller" is a bad translation. While it is a play on words because it sounds like "crawler", people are basically calling him "fatigue/anxiety/hardship" man. And the translations of the texts at the end were just completely freestyled by the translator. I guess its fair since the jokes there wouldnt make sense in english.. but cmon.

Meh ep 2 not any better, she can hop really high (and land safely) but can't fall from really high? And didn't ep 1 already tell us his quirk only works if he has 3 points of contact with a surface but it already had him trip because of his power when only on one foot was on the ground just for an unfunny sight gag...<_<
And I don't get her deal she only dressed up to give "illegal" little shows? Uhh why not do legal ones on the street corner like every single other show about aspiring artists in Japan? I mean the cops let gangs of thugs who assault people roam free are they really going to harass some girl singing?
This is pretty lame so far.

knuckle duster is qurkless.
@AnimeFan500 After watching episode one I wondered if Knuckleduster's superpower was just hitting people with knuckledusters like some hobo-Batman and it looks like I might be right. But then that got me thinking. Even quirkless Knuckleduster is a pretty big dude, and getting hit by a big dude who knows how to fight is going to hurt unless you happen to have some power that mitigates it. Aizawa might be able to nullify a quirk, but what was stopping Knuckleduster from simply punching him out?

episode 4/5

There was a lot of action in this episode, the fight with Aizawa resulted in absolutely nothing since Aizawa decided not to arrest him. Some villains appeared soon after and there was a lot of fighting in the episode.

But more than that, what I liked most about this episode: the dynamic moments between the vigilantes and a bit of humor + action. I'm biased towards saying that these first two episodes were better than the first two episodes of boku no hero academia

Well, this episode did made me smile. So I think I will watch the series. I wonder if KnuckesMan is really a mukosei or if his intelligence is his quirk, much like Batman. About The Crawler, well, that's what happens when your name is pronunced in another language, particulary English.

Great follow-up to the premiere! The episode was very dynamic and had some great fights, especially the one against the salaryman.

I didn't remember KD's quirklessness being revealed so early on in the manga, but I read it so long ago; the way it came up in the fight was really cool.

The two X-Men looking kids turned out to be pretty cool! x)

Mmmm, I guess art direction is as better than the main series it will get, because that Aizawa and Knuckleduster fight was... pretty soulless and boring.

On the plus side, the character acting is phenomenal. Also really loved the B part of this episode, this is just dumb fun and I love it.

Knuckleduster being a quirkless hero already makes me like him a lot. IMO that is what Deku should've been, but oh well, no point in saying that now. Also, glad to know everyone else here has Jojo brainrot. Like my mind instantly thought of Jojo when I saw the middle schoolers.

A fun episode. Didn't really hit as fun as the first one but still really enjoyed the fights, seeing Aizawa in action, the multiple Jojo references and mostly the chemistry between the three. So far I also really enjoy that it's a much smaller scale with the story; instead of a giant world-ruling villain like All For One they're just tackling street crime, similar to Spider-Man Homecoming, really nice change of pace.

The drug dealers are on the loose!

Aizawa’s quirk doesn’t work on Knuckduster because, surprise surprise, he’s just a quirkless meathead. But does this stop Knuckleduster from taking on a skilled hero or flying through the sky and knocking down a giant villain?

NOPE! He even punched through invincible villains whose skin was said to be harder than buildings.

I think the police should let him do what they and the heroes can’t. I don’t think they want to make an enemy out of Freaky Fist Grandpa & The Cruller

Erasure Head Aizawa-sensei may be strong, but so too is Knuckleduster holding his own weight.

While the off-duty teacher pardons Kunckleduster because of the crime that he technically did not commit, the latter finds his strength dealing with the true villains instead, alongide Koichi and Pop Step. And while the aforementioned Ideo Trigger drug has made its true effect, Koichi stepping up to the plate with his Quirk, with just enough time and space for Aizawa to capture the culprits, it may be civic duty for the heroes, but the illegal heroes like Knucklebuster getting charged for doing good things doesn't make their society any better.

With the (un)knowing call for Koichi to be under Knucklebuster, his Nice Guy persona overtaking The Crawler facing against heroes fighting against each other, and when Kunckleduster fails to amend things, Pop Step does the trick instead. It's only in the face of danger that the men do all they can to stop the pop-up villains being entranced by the Trigger drug. The actual work being left to the police to deal with the aftermath, it's not fine even if vigilantes like the trio face against villains, only burying their name even further.

It's gonna take awhile before the trio can officially be recognized, but until then, they're vigilantes in the dark.
