Looks like there's a case dealing with the drug Trigger going on in the city.

On another note, great to see Eraser Head back. The predictable and dangerous nature of the city this episode was in full effect. Kouichi did what he had to do but I am impressed by him for saving that baby. Good to also see Knuckleduster making his appearance and also noticed this series the same or very similar OST as the main series.

I think Aizawa takes the spotlight in the first half—but at the same time, I’m amazed by Knuckleduster. With no body-enhancing quirk, the guy still powers through with sheer raw strength.

Kouichi took a fall for Kazuho, but she fell for him even harder. And I really appreciated how he dove in headfirst to save that baby.

The show gives off strong Batman vibes—another amazing episode!

fantastic episode 2, really hooks, better pacing and animation than the first episode, with a continued great style and characters. Knuckle Duster is a badass. This show, even just the environments feel so much more vibrant than the main show it’s crazy. The fights were fun, and the character designs continue to be on point. I loved seeing Koichi use his quirk in new ways

Shoutout to my GOAT Detective Tsukauchi! i’m glad he’s in this show ! He’s probably my favorite under rated character in My Hero

I can tolerate Aizawa's dumb ropes mechanic, throwing it and binding people and whatnot but they literally just animated him moving it telekinetically, wtf is this anymore, just make his quirk the dumb tape.

anyway, episode-wise this animation is so bones and hardly is "better" than what people try to rage bait with "they should've animated MHA like this". same studio, same practice, same pipeline. nothing gets changed and I'm waiting for their in-house staff to actually make a sakuga cut.

the psycho is a psycho but I'm entertained by his character because this is literally what deku could've been and what should've been represented in the mha-verse. they nerfed him into a hobo psycho so that they don't get parallels with a batman trope. funny

Knuckleduster not having a quirk was a bit of a surprise. Still, it doesn't stop him from continuously charging into fights, regardless of who he's up against, while sticking to what he believes in as the right thing to do. Reckless as that might be, I do commend him for that.

As for Kouichi, he had his moment to shine when he risked his life to save Pop Step. While she is acting a bit tsundere towards him, her blushing expression was very cute and probably does say that she sees him differently now.

This rag-tag trio of vigilantes do make for a fun team, so I do look forward to seeing how they'll get on against more villains while making sure that they don't get the wrong type of attention from the proper heroes and the police. Overall, this was another fun episode.

Koichi is all in now! I'd say he's fully on board with this vigilante work. A simple takedown of some trigger turned into a huge brawl in the city streets. That shady businessman was hiding more than just some dolls. Putting the trigger drug inside them is a good cover. If Knuckleduster hadn't been so persistent then they would've let that guy go. Erasure showing up nearly screwed things for them but he did help in the end. We got confirmation that Knuckleduster doesn't have a quirk, he's just that damn strong throwing Erasure around. I'm glad that once he figured out Knuckleduster wasn't misusing a quirk he just let him go. Erasure is nothing if not fair. Koichi and Pop Step really had their hands full with those trigger enhanced villains. Four different ones all causing mayhem. That giant businessman kinda threw the other three for a loop and inadvertently helped stop them. Koichi did great catching Pop Step so she could use her jumping quirk. He's really stepping up from just being a helping hand around the neighborhood to a real hero. Same with stopping that rock villain later in the episode. Koichi and Knuckleduster had a good team up moment knocking the villain off balance so he could he pummeled. Now they just have to work on their online presence. Pop Step should be able to help with that.

Knuckleduster is the true hero even with no quirk, but The Crawler is trying to become better along with Pop Step, the scene where he crawled to save her from falling was pretty cool, now it seems like the illegal heroes are going to be hunted by the justice though, it means fighting against the drugged villains and escaping from the authorities...

The whole vibe of the episode was really free and relaxed because of the animation. When also coupled with the good plot setup for the rest of the show. I can't help but like how refreshing seeing a good shonen.

Remember kids, don't do drugs.

It was only a matter of time before the vigilante's actions caught the eyes of the police, but will both forces stop the Trigger drug from spreading?

Let’s go!

So Knuckleduster didn’t even try to bother explaining what he was doing to Aizawa and went straight for the hands. We find out via Aizawa using Erasure that Knuckleduster doesn’t have a quirk. After some investigation, Pop Step and Koichi find out that Knuckleduster was right about that guy, and he went on a rampage using Trigger. I’m wondering how Knuckleduster found some rope to swing on and then presumably jumped off a building so quickly.

Then we see another instance of Koichi’s hero instincts kick in as he slides up a building into the air to give Pop Step a platform to use her leap ability, but he failed to think about his landing. He was able to improvise and it worked out.

Aizawa warns Knuckleduster that his actions will get him in trouble, and we see that Koichi has decided to work under Knuckleduster’s tutelage and be a vigilante. They find another Trigger user and are able to stop two students from fighting at the same time. One of said students, Namimaru, is a Part 3 Jotaro short rip off, while the other wears the same kind of eyewear as Freeze from The Incredibles (likely because of his laser powers), and we know now that Koichi’s new hero name is The Crawler. Speaking of, THAT NAME IS WAY LAMER THAN NICE GUY! NO WONDER STUDENTS AT U.A. NEED TO GET THEIR NAMES APPROVED FIRST BECAUSE THIS IS STRAIGHT CHEEKS!

Also it seems that Sansa and Naomasa may confront the group in the future because they’re on the side of the law (for obvious reasons). I’m looking forward to what’s next!

I had a feeling we’d find out Knuckleduster is quirkless when he took on Aizawa, the guy that has the power to disable them lol, mad respect to this guy for braving the hero world with no power of his own, just simply a badass fighting for justice. And hey, turns out that salaryman was actually a bad guy after all, although I wish it woulda said what his “playtime” quirk actually did, it seemed to mentally regress him a bit when he played with that actual car like it was a toy one lol. This fight was a lot of fun tho, Aizawa ultimately took down the villain but Kouichi’s display was awesome when he saved Pop Step.

And despite Kouichi’s resistance to working with Knuckleduster, he and Pop Step formed a trio with him anyways, and they seem to be quite the team already from their first battle together (I also noticed the nostalgic ost in this scene, very nice), the cops didn’t like how much they roughed the guy up but I say they shoulda hit him more lol. And like others have pointed out, I did catch the Jojo references with those middle schoolers, wasn’t expecting that but really cool, Pop Step taming them was amusing too. And hey I recognize that detective, Tsukauchi right? Nice to see him again, interesting that he’s technically a bad guy in this series, I’m excited to see how his role in this plays out.

And lastly, lol ngl “The Crawler” isn’t a bad hero name but I don’t think it fits Kouichi, I feel like Nice Guy just sticks, also it would be embarrassing for villains to get beat up by a guy with that name, and he could even have a super attack called “No More Mr. Nice Guy” like that Alice Cooper song lol.

@Dukino I'm assuming that Pop Step's role will be as you said, online presence and publicity, along with investigative work. From the last fight, it's clear that she isn't a combat type.

@Meta_Yoshi The ending of this episode, plus the conversation between Knuckleduster and Aizawa in my opinion is foreshadowing a future conflict with the police/other heroes who won't be as agreeable as Aizawa.

@deg Lowkey he was cooking in this episode and the last in terms of intelligence. When he fell in the first episode, he was able to deduce the damage he sustained and was able to avoid a concussion and in this episode, he was able to deduce how that dude's hardening and strengthening quirk operates in terms of him having to concentrate, meaning that he could aim for a weakpoint (similar to how Mirio has to choose what part of his body permeates).

In terms of anything outside of combat I'm not so sure.

@Stark700 As far as I'm aware, they haven't introduced new OSTs in this series. The one in the beginning when Knuckleduster is fighting Aizawa is the same as the one that played when Izuku tried to punch the Nomu and help out All Might in the USJ in Season 1.

@TheColonel76 Yes that is Naomasa Tsukauchi, and he's not a bad guy in this series. The word you're likely looking for is antagonist, but even then we'll have to see what happens if and/or when he meets the trio.

The fun continues as our trio carries on their illegal mission. The argument between Mr. Knuckles and Eraser posed the problem of doing it by the book versus personal responsibility. I hope PopStep will get to contribute more. Other than her delightful personage that is.

Don't want to speak too much on the story because I've read the manga. The adaptation continues to be living up to my every expectation, and then some (I stopped watching the main series because seasons four and five were frustrating to watch as a manga reader). The compositing breathes the life I wish the Overhaul arc could have had in it. The production in general just feels well polished, even more so than the main series.

Crawler?! OMG is that a Worm reference? (That might be too niche but I don't care)

Mah Boi Koichi be Zoomin. I kinda Underestimated his Quirk when it came to fighting, it’s More useful than I thought. Not only Zoomin across streets but also Zoomin on Buildings too.

Did anyone not expect Knuckleduster to be Quirkless? I gotta respect that Man taking superpowered villains without a quirk, Bro definitely Lifts at least 200+ pounds in the Gym.

This episode gives a good grasp on what the series is about.
Not about saving the whole world or even the city, just preventing destruction on the neighborhood with an occasional cameo from someone who could very well be there 6 months prior to BnHA.

Animation is not always top tier on action scenes, but it's solid and story gets better once foundation is laid.

Knuckleduster being quirkless is an interesting twist. That plus Koichi and Pop Step not exactly having super strong quirks makes me curious to see how this group fights without someone like Aizawa showing up.

Ohoh, so Knuckle Duster is just a beefy guy with no Quirk? That kinda makes things better. Erasure being super cool in all his scenes, figures it out, then walks away because he's "off duty."

Pop step manages to de-escalate things with the regular hoodlums just as a real villain appears, for our Vigilantes to deal with.

It's a promising start, all the pieces are in place it seems. We just need to see the Vigilantes start to figure out how best to use their powers.
