Jyuuwawawaaan~~!!

Such a great adaption. Too bad the chance for 2nd season is low since they changed the blackmailer. Oh well... I'll take what I can get.

Here's a bold and unorthodox idea for upper management at JTC: hire somebody local or spread the job listing not only nationally, but also worldwide for anybody with experience who is also willing to relocate to said place with 100% certainty. Crazy talk, I know. Remote interviews are also easier than ever. What if all this forced transfer does is force whoever they pick to quit? Then again, I bet they'd like that, since they wouldn't have to pay severance and they can hire young blood with lower pay like some fresh out of college greenhorn. What is even the market of people in Alaska traveling elsewhere like? You'd think they would open an office in a major city with the most potential customers. On the flip side, if they were smart enough to do that, we wouldn't get this story, so that's out the window.

So the secret is out now, huh. Manager Kurokawa taking the fall for the team was unexpected...I respect great bosses like her. Even more shocking is learning Kurokawa herself was married, since she didn't wear a ring on her hand. Her husband is a lucky man. I-It's not like I'm heartbroken or anything... But it's nice to know that he's also on board to traveling to Alaska with her so she doesn't have to be alone.

My man finally asked Rika for real instead of a false pretense, even a real confession of love on top of it. And she said yes, reciprocating his feelings too! I'm so happy for them ๐Ÿ˜ญ. I'm also glad they moved out of the middle of the freaking road because I was worried cars were about to come...was that a visual metaphor?

So the mysterious caller that sounds like a Detective Conan kidnapper was Keisuke Itsuki, the guy who recommended the down jacket to Gonda? Now that I think about it, wouldn't his caller ID show up since he had his number? At least I'm assuming they were already in the contacts. I don't know...maybe he was using a prepaid card meant for traveling...it woud be easy for him since they work for a travel agency after all.

Speaking of Gonda... unfortunately, we never got to see how his relationship will progress with Kaori. I wonder if the manga has any more on that, or if it leaves on a cliffhanger like the anime does on that subplot? I'm still happy overall at this ending for our main couple. We didn't see the wedding itself, unless you count the opening theme of them in a few various wedding outfits from around the world...but the kiss at the end was still lovely.

Who knows...maybe they can make a 2nd season featuring the struggles of Gonda and Kaori more. There's a lot of potential story-telling there, especially with raising a kid. I'm now wanting a 2nd season even more now that I've learned we're only halfway through the manga. But it ended at a good spot for a 12-episode season.

I'm curious at who Kurokawa was going to recommend to be her sucessor as the new manager of that branch.

Overall, I loved following this series with these two awkward weirdos, as it's so relatable and adorable. I wish there were more romcoms about adult life like this.

By the way, there's also a Live-action drama version from 2022. In case anybody is interested, it's on Amazon Prime as "Map for The Wedding"...I found that out while looking for the OP/ED on youtube, and saw that Aimer did the theme song. But if you're broke like me, it's also online sailing on the high seas, if you search "Kekkon Surutte, Hontou Desuka" under live-action section, although there aren't a lot of seeders.

@MickeyMinaj the majority of the 2nd half has mainly to
It's only 60 chapters so well worth the read
@billybub I see. If there isn't a 2nd season then I might just read the second half later

They're really doing Gonda dirty out the opening. What happened to the idol mom waifu? Guess it isn't the MCs problem tho so their fake plan sorted itself out.

He ruined their marriage plan.. huh. MCs are a group of rats to each other.

At least the branch head knows what she wants.

F to the fact they succeeded in stifling any spark from the kiss.

But now the world has corrected itself in the end. Let them stay together

series ends with a bang ๐Ÿ”ฅ

giving this 7/10 cuz too much weird ahh fillers, little to no character development in the 12-episodes span, and a lot of 1-episode characters that was fully neglected after a specific episode ends (i'm talking about the german princess)

The absolute MVP of the anime...

Everyone deserves a boss like Kurokawa.

Gonda was saved here he doesn't deserve more L after his failure with Kaori.

Well somehow this two idiots finally realised they need eachother. And Takuya proposed for real this time. After long journey of lies, gaslighting, annoying behaviour finally they are together.

Absolute lovey dovey head over heels and too much in bliss. So happy for them.

The show only became good at last three episode. Before that it was underwhelming. The random stuff and failed romance specially how poor Gonda and Karoi thing went after such a cute story really bugged me. MCs weren't that impresive tbf, Rika was intresting but dumb sometimes also she's way to relatable me which makes her fine, while Takuya became better as the series went but still a bit flat. I had no problem fake marriage and it made things intresting. But progress was bit too slow until it picked up fast at the end. By the end it continued will they won't they. There wasn't a very dramatic buildup and it was mostly realistic for what it's worth. Still a very solid romcom.

I hope they continue the story with so much manga left to cover but I doubt it.

As a manga reader this a little bit rushed and cut some chapter from manga (like her mom, the marriage party & truck-kun xD)
Hopefully there's an OVA about wedding & gonda x kaori relationship.

Kurokawa-san really the mvp in this eps.

Afterall still enjoyable (8/10)
can't wait for next office-romance series.

Oh man. It's over. I wasn't expecting such a wholesome finale. Definitely was better than another anime that aired on the same day...

I really felt bad for Gonda there. He just recently experienced a heartbreak. My man didn't deserve to get shipped off to Alaska. Thankfully, Kurokawa came in clutch. I find it wholesome that both Takuya and Rika decided to put an end to the lies. That was definitely stressful. Thankfully, Kurokawa became the fall guy to go to Alaska. I didn't even know she was married. I thought she was single. Despite this, she's perfect for going to Alaska. So I wonder why the heck she didn't volunteer in the first place. Maybe she was getting cold feet. Or she thought her husband and her family wouldn't be supportive. Maybe Takuya and Rika gave her the strength she needed. So, that was nice.

Takuya and Rika's confession was so good! They're finally getting married! That was so good. I really don't have any complaints. They are perfect together. And it's great that they told everyone that they're REALLY getting married.

More importantly, the mysterious caller was the guy?! I knew for sure it was one of their co-workers. But I was almost certain that it was Komiya. She seemed almost perfect for the role... But I guess the guy co-worker works too. But it's still a mystery how he was able to tell that Rika and Takuya's engagement was fake. What did he have to gain by messing with them anyway? It would've been interesting if he had faced them head-on at some point.

This really felt like an ending. But I know there's more to it in the manga. I find it concerning that a 2nd season wasn't announced. Surely they wouldn't just skip the 2nd half of the manga? I mean, I kinda appreciate that they didn't rush the whole manga trying to be a full adaptation like TsumaSho. But never making a season 2 isn't good either. I really hope they'll make a 2nd season. Not finishing a finished manga just feels strange no matter how good the ending is. It'd be wrong not to.

Anyway, this was a great anime. I'm really gonna miss it.

the confession, although a good scene, felt a little rushed to me... like, from Ohara, I get... at least we see him demonstrate some interest on her... but Rika seemed still too conflicted about... most of time we see her point of view, she is more focused on "what did he see on someone like me?" than on her feelings for him
and now suddenly is all lovey dovey over him...

Hey, that ended on a pretty nice note! Marriage is just the start of another chapter of life, I'm glad to see that's the conclusion they came up with. Definitely wasn't expecting Honjoji-san to shed tears like that on her way back but all's well that ends well, am I right?

I've heard there's more to the Gondou-san relationship too, and would love to see more of the main couple too. Season 2, please come! I was sure as HoneyWorks is involved, we'd get confirmation with the final ep but sadly that wasn't the case...

Very cool stopping point with the confirmation that they won't go to Alaska so they can stop the fake dating but they end up dating for real in the end! Good adaptation overall not much to say but for this kind of story it was sufficient.

They didn't overthink the ending here and gave us what we needed. Great writing within the twelve eps to the point that this is great if it finishes like this, but there's somewhere to go if they do get a second season. There's still stuff with Ohara's family that can be re-visited, Rika's self-doubts and her very weird relationship with her mother.

This has been one of my favourite watches of the season and if it returns, I'm all for it. But, as it is, I'm satisfied, too.

Ah, so the top dogs were suspicious of Rika and Takuya. Jk, it was apparently their own coworker who didn't trust them, rightfully so, since they never really spoke to each other until they decided to get engaged.

Not poor Gond, but turns out that wasn't the case! Now the boss lady is sending herself, which is crazy bc she was almost going to leave her husband behind lol I hope Gonda rekindles with the single mom :(

Kinda crazy that they're splitting the cost for the props they used to take pictures when their work should've provided everything.

It only took 12 episodes for someone to grow a backbone and admit they love each other! They sent a picture to the princess, the text said "we grow old together," but it should've said "we're growing old together"? I think Takuya should've married his childhood friend bc she was a lot cuter lol I will admit the tippy toe kiss was cute lol

5/10 due to the fact that we watched grown adults act like elementary-middle schoolers. What bothered me was they never really dated or got to know each other, but decided to get married anyways

The last episode of the series and we're getting both of them getting married after all. Would have been nice to see them both visit Takuya's family and break the news to them. Who will take over the branch as manager when Kurokawa transfers to Anchorage? What will happen to Gonda? So many loose ends? Perhaps a season two in the making.

I liked the manga for this but the anime adaptation felt really flat and the characters and the relationship just didn't move me anywhere near as much here than with the manga, the final episode here in particular with the real engagement was nice but felt too rushed and since I wasn't as immersed with Rika and Takuya in this version, the moment didn't impact me much. The chemistry just doesn't translate as effectively. Disappointing as a whole.
@animejas It does feel a bit rushed to sew up right at the very end. There should be more to tie up so many loose ends. Perhaps a season two to address this.

I wonder why they decided to make the ending semi-open without adapting the chapter with their wedding and epilogue. The ending is still completely happy, but I want more lmao. Alsoo, what about Gonda? It seems the manga also left his fate open. Maybe we'll get some kind of OVA, special episode, etc?

@Seaphron Stop. That is, the fake marriage is only half of the manga, while the other half is quite a full-fledged romantic fluff?

And so the two who pretended to be getting married out of fear decide, rather flippantly, to get married out of love.

So as it turns out I was able to squeeze in one more show before the New Year. Where I live anyway. This one took me longer than the last two, but I was still able to manage the entire series in under 3 days. Why did this one take me longer? Well I found the series surprisingly bland. It was cute too, but the personalities of the leads, Rika especially, left a rather dour taste that clashed with the cuteness. It's understandable given her backstory but still, it was hard for me to get all that invested in the goings on of the main couple. In one episode I cared more about Gonda's love angle than I ever did theirs, which is kind of a problem. I'm gonna give this a generous 7/10 given the spirit of the season, but I expected to like this a lot more than I did which is an unfortunate, yet appropriate way to end was was for me a pretty bad year. I won't miss 2024, at least I hope I don't end up missing it without the certainty of knowing what's ahead. Regardless, to anyone reading this I'll just say it: Happy New Year!

The episode was a mad sprint to the finish line. It felt like 3-episodes worth of plot and character development, I don't really get why they spent so much time earlier in the season on forgettable side characters and excruciatingly-slow relationship growth. They had 5 minutes for the manager's life story and literal seconds to wrap up the anonymous caller's identity, for example.

Their "happineeeess" moments were very cute, though.

Overall, I sometimes enjoyed it, so the show wasn't a total loss. But it'll be gone from memory real quick.

Was Keisuke the mysterious caller?
@Niwaka_Samurai Good question.

And wow, I hadn't considered Komiya-san. In fact, I never imagined that the one making those anonymous calls was the tall young man Keisuke-san! I genuinely thought it was Honjoji-san’s mother, but I was wrong.

This episode clearly shows that it was Keisuke-san, without a doubt. However, maybe they were all involved—or at least that's my theory, but it's not something explicitly mentioned in the episode, though.

At the end, Kurokawa-san truly became a heroine. ๐Ÿ’– She deserves all our respect. ๐Ÿ’–

That 'straight path' Kurokawa-san mentioned… I didn’t quite understand it at first, but now it makes sense. Seeing Oohara-kun mentally visualizing that straight path was eye-opening:

I just keep on walking, taking care not to leave that road. This is my life.

ใ€Œใ“ใ‚ŒใŒไฟบใฎไบบ็”Ÿ (Kore ga Ore no Jinsei)ใ€

This is my life.

I really didn’t see it that way before. It’s the path you’re supposed to follow, the one you establish for yourself as 'this is my life', or maybe it wasn’t even something you consciously chose—just the only road you could see at the time. And so, without questioning it, you keep walking that road. So, that’s the path you’re taking.

Seeing it represented as a long, winding road made me think: Am I going to live my entire life like this? Or…

is there another path I could take—a way to step off and redefine my journey?

When Oohara-kun asked Honjoji-san if she wanted to get married, it felt like an electric shock ran through my entire body. ๐Ÿ’– It was so beautiful—almost like the sound of the bell tower in that episode. Yes, that’s probably the best way to describe it.

And then seeing Honjoji-san break into tears—it broke my heart. But now, both of them are overflowing with happiness. I love them so much. ๐Ÿ’–

To whoever’s reading this, I hope you find the love of your life๐Ÿ’–

The show could have received a better rating but my god that was probably the most frustrating love confession I've ever seen in an anime. Usually it's the male protagonists who annoy me but damn Rika probably made it into my top 10 annoying romance character list. There is always so much build up for nothing and the ending felt pretty rushed compared to the rest of the Anime. Mixed feelings.
