liked it! i love the chemestry between mao mao and jinshi. though, i wonder what happened to the poison case that the army has taken. is it resolved already? or we might not found out the conclusion to that case?
| @kolds: As Maomao explained: The poisoning effects were caused by soldiers burning rhododendron wood in the fire, next to the food. The smoke from the wood poisoned the food. |
| Jinshi going to creepy levels this episode. I just realized he is listed as a main character. Hmm, I am not digging him at all so far. What I was digging, however, were Maomao's reactions to him, haha. Good to see Maomao getting access to the ingredients of the kingdom. Can't wait to see what she cooks up. Also, cracked up at Maomao's comment about the aroused concubine's, "Don't worry, they didn't go all the way," haha. Applying they did go some of the way. Hey, off-screen yuri is still yuri :P |

| There's something magical about hearing a Japanese voice actor playing an old man from ancient not-China say "mad scientist" in English. The sounds Maomao made while speedrun-baking the aphrosidiac chocolate buns tho lmao |
| Maomao is my girl of the season. She's the best. The actual goat apothecary of the palace. Jinshi should just give up, there's no way he can win over Maomao's love. Poisons and medicines already have her heart. |
| Concubine Gyokuyou knows the emperor's got some insane stamina. Hopefully he doesn't take the aphrodisiac that Maomao made or else she is probably gonna be too sore to move for days. |

| it's so good when we find an anime that leave us amused as this. i have no complaints. i really like the characters here, everyone is so endearing. and mao mao is best girl so far this season. if i was some kind of slave i would like to be a food tester too. i may not be as knowledgeable as mao mao but i'd like to end my miserable life eating good food at least. |

| It's difficult to believe the poisoning incident getting to Jinshi at all. It would take literally weeks to get from frontier to palace, doesn't look like a big enough incident to warrant doing that. Yes I know this is not important at all |

| Maomao's reaction to when she saw the area where she would be making the aphrodisiac was great! It does look like Maomao is getting comfortable in her surroundings and she seems to be getting more respect from the people around her but I'm a bit concerned for the physician guy that doesn't like Maomao getting into his turf. Hopefully he doesn't do anything stupid and that they will be able to work together. |

There are still peoples considering it as an aphrodisiac even today due to some of its chemical components. It is well a fairly well documented thing. |
