rederoin said: Kaioshin_Sama said: Now people see that Stalker is bullshit and Aniplex always clean sweeps every season. Your show ain't sell shit if it's not by them. That said those are some horrific numbers for the latest iDOLM@STER (I actually find this one really strange as it was estimated at like 7,000 and has more than cleared that number before) and everything still did pretty badly. Everything has to come in below the Aniplex shows though naturally so Overload is way overestimated. Such is the anime industry. If you exclude the amazon editions, it was rather accurate. Nice try, but stalker is still usefull. Obviously not for Charlotte. Won't surprise me if GATE proves to be the only other underestimated series this season and everything is is overestimated but considering that's Warner Bros with A-1 just doing the animation maybe it's not susceptible to the usual way it goes. rageiX said: charlotte totally deserve its spot... im happy for seeing it on top Oh my god these comments are so rote and predictable. | People seem to misunderstand many things. Madhouse or many studios, can't decide to make another season of an anime or not. It's the producer to do that. PRoducer gives studio the money, ask them to make the anime as the best as they can, if it done right, more trust to that studio. If it done wrong, no work for that studio. And there is a special case, when we have some studio that has their own producer. Or to say it right, the producer is the studio's family. The owner of Madhouse's owner is also VAP's owner, which means VAP is Madhouse uncle. BAsically Madhouse can control the sale, the source and everything, if the producer is VAP. Yeah they take all the risk and oppotunity themselves. Too bad MAdhouse-VAP anime in 2010s are kinda low: 3,331 Chihayafuru 2 2,831 Chihayafuru 1,068 Death Parade 769 Ore Monogatari!! 839 Kiseijuu Sei no Kakuritsu 519 Hajime no Ippo Rising 0 Kaiji: Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji: Hakairoku Hen 0 Rainbow malki said: well..except for chihayafuru..none of those got a sequels (some of them didn't need a sequel though)..anyway..I was talking especially about Mahouka which sold about 13k..they shoul have announced a S2 already... I got no idea. It's by Aniplex, and they have so much anime to adapt, but I don't think this is the reason. Aniplex only has 1 anime made by Madhouse, so I guess there's a problem between Aniplex and Nippon TV. I guess Aniplex is finding another studio, IMS may be ? |

It let a 30 years old manga sell like 1.5 million in a year thats pretty damn good. |

Overlord volume 1 sales started on 9/25 but according to the title of this thread, the figure is from Japan's Weekly Blu-ray & DVD Rankings for Sep 21 - 27. This would mean the figure we have for now is sales for Overlord in 2 days instead of 1 week or 4 days(I miscalculated in previous post because I thought the sales is until 9/29) as I claim previously. |

Most sales are from preorders and the first few days at stores, so additional sales are typically a very small portion of the first week sales. Those 4 days are the first week, end of story. |

I would say Oricon seriously fucked up everything sold on September 25th. There is just no reason(expect for some disaster to wipe out half of Japan, which did not happen) for IMAS and KuroBasket to drop 40-50%, just like everything else sold that day. People, please hold your judgement until the second volume. We know that Oricon have done this before(G-recon), it just might be a bigger mess up this time. |

Summer was a solid season with some good shows. If sales were the definition of quality then we'd have to say the Transformers movies are some of the greatest films in history. Frankly I'm impressed at what Illya Herz managed considering the first volume probably just has the slice of life eps that stretched out too long. Be more curious to see how the volume with the real action in it sells. |

Next week we can probably expect to see Overlord hit 6k as it has only be released for 2 days (from the cutoff), some sales are bound to have missed the cutoff. Hopefully, we do see a sequel (though doubtful to be released for a while). Charlotte sales surprised me however. |

| What a crazy week !!! I know it's normal to see a difference between the estimates and the actual data, but this time the number and size of the difference was too much. Even the numbers of "THE IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls" are strangers, even allowing for comparison only the volumes 2 and 3. Is there any logical explanation for this? Does anyone know how this is impacting on the Japanese forums (or channels)? Kaioshin_Sama said: That seems like a double standard to me considering that Macross Frontiers movies had a similar scheme and that seems to get acknowledged Someone could tell me how much sold this version? |

Good thing it's only the first 2 days then huh :) 3 days* Anime is typically delivered from the day before the official release date, thus Sep 24 is day 1.. Sep 24~27 = 4 days. The Oricon daily ranking last week also confirms this. No point in arguing over this, as the days of release in the first week hardly matters for anime, compared to say manga or light novels. |

Well, I believe that Oricon fucked 25/09 data up. Check out the table I post on page2, everything sold on that day with the exception of prisma illya become "overestimated". Everything including KuroBasket and IMAS. |

AdmiralKizaru98 said: ios said: Ame_Sama said: Madhouse standards are not that high, in the last 5 years they only had 3 series that sold more than Overlord (Mahouka, NGNL and HOTD), here's a list of all late night shows they did in the recent years and how much they sold. HXH, Dia no A and other which were day shows and clobreated project are not included. Oremonogatri - 500 units sold Death Parade - 923 units sold Parasyte - 632 units sold Hanayamata - 3,500 units sold Magical Warfare - 322 units sold Sunday Without God - 531 units sold Photo Kano - 1,256 units sold Chihayafuru 2 - 3,235 units sold Btooom - 326 units sold Chihayafuru - 2,802 Blade & X-men & Wolvrine & Kaiji S2 & Iron Man sold so litte nobody know exactly the numbers (most likely less than 100 units) so Parasyte flopped hard huh, its so highly praise and popular here on MAL or from none japanese fans Chihayfuru is the only series produce by madhouse that has gotten a new season over the last 5 years...and it sold more poorly than some of there more recent sellers such as NGNL ,,,Mahouka and HOTD...hell overlord has sold more in its first volume than this series did. As Red pointed out early ...certain studios are not hold accountable weather to produce more content rather it is the actaul owners who do so... Madhouse is one of those few studio's which do not really have a say as to which series they produce..they are just a hired company by the series owners to produce them and are paid upfront to do them..so it really depends on the owners if they want to produce a new season or not. show some proof plz |

| Either otaku care way too much about Gakkou Gurashi deviating from the manga, or the show was never expected to be a bestseller in the first place. I sincerely hope it's the second, because I thought the anime was great, and the overall hateful response I see everywhere I go pisses me off. Anyway, Charlotte is at least selling decently, so I'm at least happy with that being received well. |
