I'm going to laugh if this gives feelsgatsu a run for its money LOL. Now there's a fandom war I'd pay money to see...

I wonder if the Retrieval Service does memory enemas; I'd like to purge this episode from my data banks. So far the only tolerable character is Flame Haze's veteran drinking buddy. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that House of Small Cubes has more genuine "feels" in 12min than this whole series combined. So far this has nothing on Angel Beats, let alone Eve no Jikan.

Hoping this improves quick...

Oh fuck, not again. Well, at least this time I checked the right places before starting to watch the anime.

If cryporn permeates the entire anime, then it is right to dismiss it as cryporn. It does not matter if there is much more than that in there; the point is that I have an enormous distraction from everything else that the writers are shoving into my face to satisfy those craving for The Bigger Tragedy.

I doubt it will best the Big Mac with Beef, Pork, Chicken and Cheddar, Provolone and American Jack sandwitch of cryporn that was Shigatsu, but it seems to be catering to people with the same culinary tastes, and I will respectfully take my leave. If I want to bite on a hook, I'll bite on moe moe desu nyan nyan that does not pretend to make profound statements about human nature, while spending twelve episodes breaking the cutie for the torturfaction of the adolescent mind.

Hmm, I thought it had already been mentioned in the first episode that she hasn't much time left? Or I just read that before, but I went into the show fully prepared, the only "surprise" now was that it's only 83 days, but that didn't quite pack a punch^^

I'd wish there is an developed romance between him and Michiru in the future, but I guess he'll "fall" for his dying robot.

I wouldn't say it's flawed. It's a business. They make money by pushing out newer models. Financially it makes more sense to take away the androids away sooner rather than later. If owners kept the androids longer than the termination date they wouldn't able to sell as many. I wouldn't call it flawed.

Good episode, but that revelation at the end... There's quite a bit of foreshadowing. Not sure if I'm going to be prepared for those feels...

This is one incredibly boring episode. First, I hate tsundere, especially overacting tsundere. And the whole episode is devoted to describing the relationship between Isla and Tsukasa, how Tsukasa tries to better himself and many other minor plot threads and character introduction. But do we really need to spend 70% of the screen time to see how they are bonding together by having they just talk and talk? They have a case on their hand, the best you can do is to spend half the episode showing how Tsukasa learn how to work with Isla and get to know her with the help of his colleagues (you can also shove some character introduction here or there), and spend the latter half devoted to showing how Tsukasa learn to be better at his job by utilizing the case. You don't have to tear-jerk your audience, just show how Isla and Tsukasa actually working together. And also how about a little bit of world building?

I didn't expect this show to be the hard sci-fi since it wasn't going to be one from the first place. But I'm afraid it's turning into another Angel Beats!, a VN writer trying to write a script in TV anime format without being able to adapt to the new format.

Well, it was kind of obvious Isla has a few hours left, I am guessing this anime will cover her final hours left until her dead.
Hopefully, it is all a marketing scam and the time limit is just something made up to make the clients buy new androids, but I doubt this is that kind of anime, more likely isla will just end up dying at the end.

On the other hand, Michiru with glasses was quite cute.....Megane moe.....

Well, anyone who paid a lick of attention to the first episode could tell Isla didn't have much time left, the fact that her original partner had been in this job for almost 10 years clinched that fact. Just a few months left.

In Angel Beats' defense, it at least made something new happen every episode. Yeah, Maeda couldn't really transition from the VN format at the end of the day, but at least there wasn't much of the padding that you see in Air and Clannad (and Kanon, but I know that was mostly written by someone else).

83 days left, that's harsh. I wonder if she starting to feel any real emotions due to her age.
An okay episode this time. Feels during ED song and some background building.
Still, it pretty bittersweet series when you think about it.

Plastic memories... I bet last episode will end with main character reading her diary.

We knew she was a veteran so we knew she had a short time left. This shouldn't have been a big reveal to anyone.

However the door is open for a happy ending of some sort. We know she is special. She is having frequent errors that other units don't. Of course this could also be a door for a tragic ending and a shortened life span!

The first episode was pretty amazing. What if Blade Runner wasn't set in a dystopian future = Plastic Memories. Unfortunately the second episode fell pretty flat. We get drunken co-workers, a robot that will solve everything by "trying harder" and lots of other cliche tropes. I still have hopes that this can be as strong as Blade Runner but in a more realistic setting, but this second episode is where the show is going then I'm going to be disappointed.

I actually love this anime so much it was kind of clear to me in episode one she was gonna die and that it would be a huge tragedy and romance in the second half or at least at the end. However I also thought it was going to be one where other girls fall for him and get jealous when he picks Isla so I don't know about listening to me but that's just what I thought

Just hope this series doesn't end up like Shigatsu where the viewers are reminded every GOD DAMN episode that Isla is going to die.

Let the viewers enjoy the happy times between the two, only to crush our joy by the last 2 episodes when Isla has to be terminated. It's sadder that way.

This Kazuki character is a giant scumbag. She knows Isla is going to die, put her to work with a young person and if it's not enough she asks him to create a bound with her! When Tsukasa answered "I do want to get closer to Isla" would be a good opportunity to tell him to not get emotionally attached to dying robots as it could easily mentally scar him for life, but no, the lolicon joke is much more important.

The characters are also really bland and uninspired (that tsundere, Jesus, so bad).

I really like melodramas but this is just bad.

What you're saying is the equivalent of expecting a pet store owner to warn adults that the gold fish they're buying will eventually die because they wouldn't be aware of that fact. He was told she was a veteran, he knows exactly how many hours they have to live, it is literally his job, so not being able to put 2 and 2 together would make him the stupidest person on the planet.

Ho hum. ....we can do it all next season with Charlotte too. The formula practically writes itself same as any other.

Lol! I couldn't agree more. I was definitely more bored by this episode than the first one. I thought it was very predictable that Ila was going to die soon.

Tbh I don't care how cliche this is, but I really hope that at the end of the season either they make better technology or Isla somehow keeps control of her memories, otherwise there will be to much feels T_T

Also if they can terminate their memories couldn't they store it as well, this could work cause at the end of ep 1, Tsukasa says that they can give the Grandma a new one that looks exactly like her just without the memories or anything. All they would have to do is get the stored memories and place them in the new Giftia

Pretty cool episode! This series has been really enjoyable so far. The characters and how they interact with one another is one of the strongest points of this show and I can't see that getting worse.

The whole thing about Isla not lasting much longer was obvious from the very first episode - and I mean, c'mon, this is only the second one anyway -, so I don't know why some people think that's a problem now that it's even more blatant. If anything, I believe the quality of this show will come down to execution, comedy, and character interaction.

I really appreciate the fact that they're not treating us as dense viewers who couldn't possibly realize that Isla will be gone by the end of the show - it would be more logical if they somehow twisted things around based on our belief that she'll actually die. Making her death a plot twist would have been way too obvious. Although it's pretty common for characters to come back from the dead (lol) in nakige, so that wouldn't be that unexpected either. But that's beyond the point.

Looking forward to the next episode!
